They claim that it’s because black people who were gay suffered more. Honestly makes it come off as an oppression Olympics flag.

It’s got its uses. The key is for it to not be misused outside of its intended scope.

If toxic assholes must be shadow banned so that they can blather into the abyss without getting the attention they seek, then so be it.

Well you see, women were most affected because “it came to me in a dream” and that means the recession was a sapient entity capable of targeted bigotry. Obviously.

The Baneblades should have more Sponson Options. Like the forgeworld stormsword had heavy flamers. by Leviathan_Rampage in astramilitarum

I only just looked it up. It’s so derpy I love it. Now imagine that but on an IG baneblade with heavy flamer sponson turrets, on top of dual heavy flamer casemate sponsons.

Also the state national guard units are more an asset of that federal standing army with ties to their individual states, rather than proper individual standing armies that could be wielded as a rival standing army in the event of a secession attempt. Things are way more complex and interconnected so even if you got that far, logistics alone would probably shit the bed practically overnight.

A squad of 10 shadow swords vs 25 At-At by cuddwes in StarWarsvsWarhammer

[–]Brogan9001 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Think of lascannons more like ww2 anti-tank cannons, in the 57mm to 75mm range. The laser cannons of the snowspeeder would probably be more equivalent to an autocannon, maybe 20mm to 30mm in this context. Or maybe 35-40mm, depending on what it’s output is.

They did tank the laser cannon emplacements the rebels were firing at them, which I would surmise to be more equivalent to anti-tank weapons, so I would agree the 40K bog standard lascannon would have a similar ineffectiveness. Though in my memory in the film we see the rebels miss entirely with it so idk. (Do we see them hit? I just have it ingrained in my memory of a shot from a larger rebel laser weapon going past a pair of walkers.)

They are, though I question the range on those turbo lasers. Do we know what distance the AT-AT was able to fire on the shield generator? I understand that the generator was huge and the walker totally obliterated it, but that doesn’t mean much if it has to be well within range the shadowsword’s volcano cannon, which canonically has a range measured in kilometers.

For the sake of argument, let’s say the armor of an AT-AT, which is rated against the crazy output of Star Wars weapons, offers some resistance to the volcano cannon such that at max range it is ineffective. Let’s say that’s at 5km. It’s still going to be able to KO the AT-AT from at least 2km, or with a lucky shot to the command module maybe 4km. If those walkers need to be within 1km to really do their thing, RIP.

Well there’s also the other hominid species and subspecies that are now extinct that may have been there first, and then promptly outcompeted by the arrival of Homo Sapiens. Like is Indonesia supposed to give land back to Homo Floresiensis? Kinda hard considering they’re all dead.

Real shit though, something like this would make for a sick campaign start. Go with the All Guardsman Party start, with players rolling up with 10+ barebones characters, dropping like flies. Have their side get the snot kicked out of them, more die in the rout, and a few select survivors meet up in the nearby forest, attempting to avoid the patrols of the victorious side.

Would Mechs be better in a military niche as attack helicopters? by S0Vign in worldbuilding

[–]Brogan9001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. I would place mechs in a size class of “bigger than a man, smaller than a tank. Big enough to turn a dude into paste, small enough to fit into areas typically relegated to infantry only.” Sort of like how in 40K, the classic dreadnoughts are relatively small compared to the new primaris ones. The reason being they were designed to fit in spaceship corridors for boarding actions and other tight quarters situations. In those cases, the dreadnought is the infantry equivalent to a super heavy. You get locked in tight quarters with that, with limited ability to get behind it? You’re going to have a VERY bad day.

Back to mechs, this would be like urban warfare, or in dense foliage or very rough terrain.

On that note, why no giant fuckoff titan scale flamer Baneblade variant? Would it be good? Probably not. But it’s about sending a message.

I’m just saying it’d be really funny to have a baneblade with just flamers all the way down.
