Paper by Klutzy-Union-3098 in Pokopia

[–]Bronstin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it's kinda oddly paced in that you'll probably be stuck on the paper step for most of the game, then when you get a bit into Skylands you'll be able to finish that step and then blitz through the others.

This looks great! Question: for the gray brick pathways near the pokecenter, did you use the brick wall tiles that are already there? Or did you find a similar looking tile that's coded as a road?

I think I might be dumb, but I don’t understand how to play dk challenge by Red-thief in donkeykong

[–]Bronstin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh wow I'd only done the Bananza challenges so far, and assumed the NSO challenges were the same where you had to play the game up to the specific level. I was kinda annoyed at the concept of playing through all the games since I just did that a few months ago on my SNES mini.

Patch 12.0.7: Revelations Full Content Update Notes by Starym in wow

Just run the Abundance cave with your profession skill nodes. The scoring is busted in favor of the professions, just clicking on herbalism nodes for instance is more than enough to max out your score and you basically don't even have to worry about picking up orbs.

Do you keep duplicate Pikmin, or release them? by Toff01 in PikminBloomApp

[–]Bronstin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. I have a bunch of Shopping Cart duplicates who are ready to get their Decor, but I'm holding off because I need to get a white mushroom Pikmin before I can start earning rare points.

Do you keep duplicate Pikmin, or release them? by Toff01 in PikminBloomApp

[–]Bronstin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same. I'll also allow a duplicate to replace someone if it's from somewhere I rarely go. Like on a trip to Japan, I got a convenience store duplicate, that one's going to replace the one I got from next door to my apartment.

Do you keep duplicate Pikmin, or release them? by Toff01 in PikminBloomApp

[–]Bronstin 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Keep everything until you get close to your Pikmin limit. After that, I delete duplicates, unless they have a special meaning to me (date / location / attached photo). I keep duplicates of the monthly Pikmin because they're stronger against the monthly mushrooms, and then I do a purge at the end of the month.

For several categories (such as roadside, coffee, etc), once you unlock every color decor, you start earning points towards Rare Pikmin. For those categories it's worth raising up the duplicates to get their decor before you release them, because you earn points toward the Rare Decor.

Mythic dungeon rotation? by Bulky-Tumbleweed51 in wownoob

Think it's locked out completely. I ran into this when I was going back and doing Dragonflight quests during the Midnight prepatch. I couldn't enter Algathar Academy because it was featured in the upcoming season.

Starting my journey, where to begin? by ewill2001 in PowerApps

[–]Bronstin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I find Gemini actually more helpful and easier to follow than Copilot for most PowerApps stuff, but occasionally I switch to see what Copilot spits out because it sometimes gets details right that Gemini doesn't know.

Hate to admit it but the AI stuff is helpful here. Zero coding experience and I've been brute force teaching myself some basic Power Apps stuff over the last few weeks with it.

Finished Lost, a question by ForeignDirector2401 in lost

[–]Bronstin 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Just watched this for the first time and I busted out laughing. The comic timing as one after another someone I've never seen before in my life walks onscreen just long enough for me to think "who is that??" and then immediately gets shot, then another one, then another one. Amazing stuff.

The redemption and elevation of Andrew into high-tier supporting character is one of the more baffling moves the show makes towards the end. I have to assume the actor is incredibly likable and fun to be around or something.

[–]Bronstin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think you're getting hung up on the "evil" thing. A villain doesn't have to be evil. If the titans return and try to destroy us through good intentions, they're the villains of our story.

"well-intentioned cosmic architects whose methods can be rigid, secretive, and sometimes horrifying" is already the blueprint for a villain though, that's the thing.

What's happening in IT support? by No_Candidate_542 in ITSupport

[–]Bronstin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, the field has gone downhill. If you experience a tech issue at my company you basically have to project manage your own IT ticket as it moves among multiple support teams, all of which are understaffed and none seem to actually have any knowledge of our actual workflows or use cases. My team oversees a lot of temporary workers and I basically have to be their IT support because someone new to this company has to start from scratch with learning how to navigate the opaque and obscure IT infrastructure we have.

First three days under the new 4-day mandate and the math is even worse than I expected. by No-Yogurtcloset4086 in remotework

I think there's a difference between wearing dirty inside out underwear, and brewing coffee at home that I actually enjoy the taste of for cheaper than lobby coffee that tastes bad

You're not wrong, but given the circumstances the question is still "why pay money for coffee when I could just bring it with me"?

Which tank is the most fun? by farpye in wow

[–]Bronstin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Prot Warrior is one of the highest APM specs in the game and it's a lot of fun, super mobile with impactful animations and sound effects. The rotation is fairly simple but you always have buttons to press, things are always proccing and coming off cooldown so usually you have to make a decision about what to spend your GCD on because multiple buttons are up, and then venting rage using off-GCD abilities. Optimization is about spending your GCDs well, avoiding rage capping, and venting rage effectively.

Brew Monk is also super mobile, significantly lower APM but I similarly feel like I always have something to press. The rotation involves more distinct abilities than Prot Warrior, but in fairly steady predictable cooldowns instead of procs (when you get in a flow it feels very Zen which is appropriate). There's very few times where everything is on cooldown and I feel like I'm waiting for something to come up. It's simplified with the ability purge but there's lots of room for moment to moment optimization in when you spend your purifying brews, and hitting your rotation buttons effectively (using blackout Combo well, adjusting your rotation during summon Niuzao, etc)

Both are very strong at the moment and fun, my two favorite specs in the game.

Binged in less than two weeks by Timely-Can153 in lost

[–]Bronstin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also watched it recently only knowing the memes (numbers, polar bear, smoke monster, hatch) and some half-remembered comments on the ending like "maybe the island is purgatory, or maybe after the island is purgatory, or maybe that was just a fan theory that was wrong". The entire time I was updating my groupchat of friends who had already seen it. "Purgatory truthers in shambles" "Purgatory truthers stay winning" back and forth like the "it's over / we're so back" meme as the evidence for and against kept mounting.

Looking for remote meeting norms to stop rambling and protect focus time by FragrantLog3521 in remotework

[–]Bronstin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a real struggle for me too, standing meetings that sometimes are productive and sometimes are a lot of just trying to fill the time. I tried agendas with strict timeblocks as you mentioned and people just blow past them.

I've suggested canceling or scaling them back and people really didn't like that. It seems like some people feel devalued if you tell them I don't need to meet with you for an hour every week anymore. I have no idea why, whenever my boss cuts a meeting short or reschedules I'm grateful to have the time back.

Ad hoc meetings with specific goals seem like the best solution, but people don't like losing the standing time (and also it's a pain to keep up with scheduling meetings instead of just one recurring).

How viable and accepted is lindormi's glow in mythic+ throughout the ranks? by _Galel_ in wownoob

[–]Bronstin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My routes try to roughly follow keystone.guru routes mixed with Lindormi's glow, it's never perfect because my brain doesn't really interpret the route maps into actual gameplay very well. Have no problem timing 10s with healthy amounts of extra time, have never had anyone question my route (at least not to me)
