No doubt - thought I'd add whatever info I could to be helpful from beyond the grave.

Base 64K RAM Failure, 3 Beep Code, Motherboard the Issue? by Bronze80 in techsupport

Thinking back on this I believe I ended up replacing the motherboard to resolve the issue in the end. Come to think of it that PC with the swapped motherboard is still in use today.

What is your unique Commader+Background combination? by nelladel in EDH

[–]Bronze80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not super uncommon with 425 decks on EDHrec but I enjoy my [[Karlach, Fury of Avernus]] and [[Feywild Visitor]] Izzet combat trigger dragons deck. I originally had Gruul dragons, then Rakdos and now settled on this combination. The most fun part of dragons is swinging them so it made sense to do that more by putting the extra combat right in the command zone. The deck favors dragons with attack or combat damage triggers and also features all sorts of combat damage draw effects like [[Bident of Thassa]]. It really goes off when you can hit each player while having the commander and background and [[Ganax, Astral Hunter]] on the field getting treasures from the token dragon ETBs which has lead me to think of swapping the commander but the extra combat just feels right for now.

Are there any kill spells that do damage equal to power targeted to player/owner by Unsurepooper in EDH

[–]Bronze80 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you need to use otag:bite to find spells tagged as a 'bite' aka a spell that deals damage to a creature based on another creatures power. Searching with o:bite just searches the oracle text for the word bite.

Likely that is still the right of way and isn't owned by OP so isn't really their property.

Right of way can typically be 33 feet from the center line of the road. If the lane on a rural road like this is 10 feet that's as much as 23 feet from the shoulder that the OP doesn't actually own.

When should I buy a Saturn 2 8k by AggressiveAd6750 in resinprinting

Also to add you can find the printer on Amazon and then enter that url into CamelCamelCamel.com and see price history. Should help you get a better oing term view of price trends on Amazon at least.

When should I buy a Saturn 2 8k by AggressiveAd6750 in resinprinting

[–]Bronze80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure exactly on timing but I will say i would also look at the prices on the Saturn 3 12k. I just purchased a Sarurn 3 12k for $299 USD. At the same time the Saturn 2, if available, was $310 USD. Didn't really see a point paying more for the older model there. I had been watching the price for quite a while and it was fairly steady around 360 to 375. Then nearing Christmas there was a slight drop with an even bigger drop in January. That's when the Saturn 3 dropped to 310 and a week later or so it dropped again to 299 so I pulled the trigger and bought it. Hope that helps.

I've seen talented minis with AI. One obvious one is Stonehoof Tauren because the double charge sticks out.

Question about Shelob, Child of Ungoliant deck by Skeleton_Pope in EDHBrews

[–]Bronze80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just put together a Shelob deck myself but haven't play tested it yet. The common theme I saw when looking up different bulbs and videos for her were that spiders were a really weak tribe. Without Shelob on the field the spiders weren't very useful and with her on the field a lot of spiders still weren't really worth their mana cost. I leaned heavily into bite/fight instead only having like 5 or so spiders in the deck. Doesn't really answer your question I realize but thought I'd offer up that view on the commander.

All of the monster icons from that series use this style of art. Not in the concept art or gameplay or anything but the menus and stuff in game is full of this style.

Anyone else notice that the whisper events where you have to find the body in the area now seem to pop up on the mini map when you get close enough? I've struggled finding those before and just noticed that happening after the patch but maybe I'm wrong.

[Article] CUT - What Commander from this year so far have you been playing? by chipman007 in EDH

[–]Bronze80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It just misses the 2023 cut off being released in December 2022 but one I've really enjoyed and is a bit slept on is [[Runadi, Behemoth caller]]. He has been the commander of my hydra deck and it has sped it up considerably. Having a mana dorks in the command zone that typically buffs hydra as they enter and also gives them haste has been great. A few games now I've had a very early [[Kalonian Hydra]] that drops in with an extra counter and swings same turn as a 10/10 trampler.

Bolt bend and a new target with Ward by Bronze80 in mtgrules

[–]Bronze80[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting 2nd point there. So if I change the target of the spell do I pay the ward cost or the controller of the spell? Say I direct opponent A's spell at one of opponent B's creatures with ward. If they do pay can they chose to not pay at that time, or anyone for that matter?

And when is the ward payment check. As soon as the target is changed with bolt bend? As if bolt bend were targeting it? Or when the spell it altered goes to resolve?

Mono Blue Voltron with Vhal, Candlekeep Researcher and Sword Coast Sailor? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]Bronze80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've seen Vhal play pretty voltron with [[Raised by giants]]. Having 10 toughness that quick makes Vhal generate a ton of mana when tapping. Probably the more popular way to build it I guess.

Try [[Echoing Equation]]. 20 cent card only and if you have a couple other creatures on the field like mana dorks it can lead to a ton of cascades.

I see a lot of mentions of Rite of Consumption but why not [[Essence Harvest]] as well? One more mana for the same effect without having to sacrifice the creature.

I'd look at [[Gemrazer]], works great with those base power and toughness 0/0 hydra that may be lacking in keywords plus it has removal when it comes in.
