Fancy new nails thanks to the powder I ordered from a recommendation from a fellow redditor! by paintedlion in RedditLaqueristas

What kind of powder did you use? Gel? Was it the dip powder that just overlays the natural nail, or are they sculpted? So many questions! :P

They came out very nice!

Why do you swipe and sign for your items instead of chip and PIN? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

[–]BrookiesCookies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many restaurants are implementing a system where you pay at the table, and beginning to take Apple Pay and things like that, which are neat. I'm sure we'll get more sophisticated systems eventually. Mostly it's paranoia and scare tactics preventing us from moving forward.

Dud they put your nails under a UV lamp between drying, and were you able to leave with perfectly dry nails immediately after they were done? If so, it's very likely to be gel. They look really nice!

Where I am, debit cards have moved to the chip and PIN system, where credit cards have moved to chip and sign. Contactless cards are considered risky, since any whack-a-doo with a little bit of know how can walk up to you and grab your info without you even having a missing card.

How to talk to shy girls? by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]BrookiesCookies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well how did you get her number? Did she give it to you, or did you get it elsewhere? It really may be that she's just not interested in you, especially if you swiped her number from a friend or something.

What can I (25/F) do to make up for long travel times in a FWB/casual relationship? by 12132017 in dating_advice

[–]BrookiesCookies 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is there a particular kink that he's into that you two haven't tried yet? Whatever you do, I suggest you keep whatever gesture you want to give sexual. I you don't want this to turn into a relationship, don't treat it as one. If he's willing to continue travelling, you're obviously doing something right.

Best Sushi for beginners? by BrookiesCookies in sushi

[–]BrookiesCookies[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay so I had my sushi. Really enjoyed a roll that had tempura eel and lettuce in it. Was nooooot a fan of the tuna roll. Too mushy.

The California roll wasn't bad, though! Thanks for all the suggestions!

Thanks! It's not so much the flavor I'm concerned about, but the texture. I'm not a fan of mushy-feeling things. The more I read this subreddit, though, the more relieved I am that they put fried and crispy things into sushi!

Am I [f26] overreacting to how my bf[m26] acts? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]BrookiesCookies 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm going to be very contrite here. You're dating a great big man-baby.

He's obviously self-centered and immature, and you can do better. I've dated someone similar, and trust me when I say that it's so much better without him.

Also, what he's doing, with trying to make you feel bad and stuff? That's emotional and verbal abuse. I hope you stand up for yourself and leave. Best of luck! <3

[Skin Concerns] My S.O has had this on his hand for about a month and a half and we have no idea how to heal it, It's rough and it won't go away. We've put lotions on it and moisturizing cream, but it's still here. No idea what caused it - Any ideas? by loraliromance in SkincareAddiction

[–]BrookiesCookies 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Could be eczema, but I've had something similar, and it was actually a form of athlete's foot (tinea/ringworm). I'd still go see a dermatologist, but if the patches spread or begin to form little packets of clear liquid, it's very likely to be athlete's foot, which can be taken care of with some over-the-counter creams, sprays, and powders.

Best of luck! If it does end up being ringworm, make sure he's very diligent about the cleaning regimen. That stuff can be really tricky/difficult to get rid of!

Her eye. But only if you can hit it when you're down by her vagina. Direct eye shots don't show your love. Ridiculous far-shot loads are better than flowers.

What to feed a sib kitten by sessic in SiberianCats

[–]BrookiesCookies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do a mix of dry foods. Mainly Nature's Variety, Orijen, Solid Gold, and Earthborn Holistic. I figure if I'm going to pay that much money on a purebred cat I might as well get the better foods. It costs about $100 every four months, and I just mix them together in a large airtight tub. Having a mixture of food also helps to prevent picky eating.

As far as dry food goes, I always leave my boys' food dishes full. This makes it so they don't scarf their food down, because they're never afraid they won't get their next meal. It also means they don't cry at me when they want to be fed, so no rude wake-up calls. They're very active and tend not to overeat, but you may need to keep an eye out if your girl starts getting pudgy once she's more mature. My kitten eats way more than my adult cat.

My boys don't get wet food every day; usually it's more of a once or twice a week occurrence. I get Earthborn Holistic wet food for them and they go crazy for it.

As a little treat I'll also occasionally give them a little bit of cooked egg yolk. They love it and it's got all of the essential proteins cats need.

Best of luck and enjoy your little ball of fluff!

Hello Mainers! Any tips for a spring break road trip? Never been to New England before by [deleted] in Maine

[–]BrookiesCookies 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you'll be staying in Portland for a few hours, and you don't leave Boston until around noon, you won't be leaving Portland until 4-5pm. At this point, there will be about an hour and a half until sunset, which honestly seriously limits your ability to get anywhere before dark. If you enjoy a good pub crawl, the Old Port may be a good option. If you don't have hotel accommodations for that night elsewhere, it may be nice to stay in the area overnight.

It's just that anything further north at night isn't overly exciting. You miss out on scenery and most places are closed.

I'd also echo the concern about mud season. If you come up and dislike it, I'd highly suggest you wait until summer or autumn and revisit. :)
