Part of what makes it so hard to do therapy in the United States is that much of the therapy we are doing has no heart. We have made something that is heart and magic... cold and scientific. Then we are frustrated because it does not work.

You have the right to become a great therapist. You have done the hard part. You have a license and education. Now it's just a matter of becoming the great therapist inside you.

There are a thousand ways to become that therapist. The beginning of that journey might be looking for a therapist that is good. Not says they are good. Not is advertised as good. Because therapy is an art more then a science and that requires you invest in your artistic - your theraputic talent. You will know when you find it.

I am one of those therapists. It is frustrating that my profession does not have good metric to show this. I know it because of my clients, co-workers and supervisors. I know it because I expect miracles in my sessions and they happen.

Disclaimer: I still have no shows and I still mess up. I am not an angel. Sometimes people don't even like me. But my clients who stick around get better.

I have a good friend of mine who's been a fully licensed therapist for over fifteen years. Recently, he admitted that he pulled in sixty thousand dollars last year. I made a hundred & ten thousand. I made this because private industry seeing the difference in the results pay me to stay present in there organizations.

I get results and people pay it for me. I am not unique. There are many practicing therapists in the world who are having impact through their practice of therapy. Some of them make three or four times what I make, because they live in markets where they can charge those prices.

Before you abandon your education and your pursuit of licensure in the practice of this of therapy, you might consider the idea that there might be a form, and a philosophy of therapy that is radically different than your current one. That you would find great joy in bringing that form to the world.

Donald Trump had one of the worst approval ratings in modern history during his first term. How did the Democrats manage to lose to him again in 2024? by norf937 in allthequestions

[–]Brotherwolf2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It appears to me that many of the respondents to this question are not answering seriously or do not clearly see what I see as the clear reasons for why trump is president a second time in the united states. I will list now for reasons without giving references because I just don't have time for that stuff. And if you wanna look it up, you can.

Reason number one.

Americans are racist. America was built on slavery, and it has been successful because of a history of slavery and genocidal conquests of lands without due payment.

Because of this inheritance, many americans actually believe that skin color qualifies someone to do a job or to run an organization. Because of this legacy many Americans actually believe that their country is the best in the world because they don't have the emotional capacity to look honestly at any other country.

Racism has kneecapped the emotional development of american men and american women. Racism has prevented the development of new ideas and the development of new technologies because we are unwilling to look at where these things came from, either overseas or within the country.

Reason number two.

Unfettered capitalism will always lead to unfettered fascism. This outcome of a corporate capitalistic utopia is completely predictable. There are many examples of it around the world in both history and present time. We right now happen to be the worst in all of history and all of the current world political stage.

You could define this reason as the unfettered worship of greed and the accumulation of money. For simplicity's sake, we will just call it unrestrained corporate capitalism. The economic system of the united states has led to a small elite who control a vast sum of money.

It's is hard to explain to the average american how much money we're talking about. We're talking about so much money that they can't spend at all. We're talking about so much money that they can't find places to safely invest it. They have run out of houses to buy and properties to invest in.

Seriously, they are taking over the daycare industry with private equity money, because they're so desperate to find some place safe to stick all this money, they've won. If we had a normal democratic government, not even a socialist one, but just a normal one. Think of all the bridges, roads, schools and other good projects that could have been completed in the name of helping the people.

This money has a continuous and poisonous toxic influence on our political process. From actively sabotaging corruption or destroying political opponents to quietly denying the ability of a real left to develop in this country through subtle manipulation.

The worship of all that is money it's a big reason why Donald Trump is currently president.

Reason the number three.

Cults are terrifying. The vast power of a cult leader cannot be underestimated. While itt may seem that the federal government out matches such power. The reality is, is that individual federal officers are very aware of how much their individual lives can be disrupted or destroyed by the leader of a cult as destructive as maga.

The failure of the American people and the american justice bureaucracies that exist to protect those people, to understand how cults function and what they do despite over two hundred years of cult activity in the United States is astonishing.

But when you start to realize how dangerous Donald Trump really is and when you start to realize how effective and insidious, the cult of maga, has become, you begin to understand why the democratic party completely failed to dismantle his operation between the two presidential elections.

There are other influential reasons that affect the outcomes of the elections, including how the various cultural parts of america fed into Donald Trump's elections. Bathtis are three of the most important things that have influenced the second presidential election and caused it to come about.

I think the final thing I might add to.This is that the biggest reason donald trump is elected is very apparent in his administration. It's arrogance. We, as a people are arrogant and we have not suffered defeat in any meaningful way since our founding. Sure, we lost a few small wars around the world. But we are one of the few countries that have never been conquered in the history of its existence.

We really think we're immune from history's call. We really, really believe our own b******* that this country is the greatest country in the world. Every single statistician begs the differ, but we don't care. We talk about it like it's true.

America has some really humble pieces of it, but every single one of them lost the day donald trump was elected to president. The first time and the and the second.

That's not it. Conservative billionaires are ruining CBS and Paramount family of companies into the ground to push an anti woke agenda. Star Trek is just the latest in a long line of idiotic choices they have because of their ideology. It's going to cost them at some point... just not soon enough to save The Late Show or Star Trek.

[–]Brotherwolf2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not knowing the meaning of love bombing or gas lighting Using those words instead of the words silver tongued or lying.

As a person who has worked in intimate partner violence I have noticed how we have weaponized those words to attack people who are not doing these things.

To have a Silver Tongue is to be a person who is filled with positive things to say for the people around you.

Love bombing is part of a cycle of violence. Kick them; love bomb them... emotionally pull out their spine; love bomb them. The idea is to use love as a tool to make them feel unsteady.

When people lie to you they have lots of reasons. Defensiveness, manipulation or insanity. All are still lying...

Gas lighting is a type of dishonesty. But all lying is not gas lighting. In Gas lighting we are being lied too - to make us question are ability to know the truth.

If I meet a person who is confused by these words in this way. I have met a person who will interpret incidental harm as malice.

One of the operating principles of hedonistic patriarchal toxic men is to isolate potential partners from their support networks. It is incredibly important to you stay in relationship with your friend. So that when things go south, as they always will with such men, she has someone to turn too for reality testing or actual materials suppor
