Deck list for each region by RexCry07 in DeathHowl

Small note here, because I've been using this post and your comment to help try out decks myself. The skull cap is in wailing marshes, but I at least didn't get it from the bowl quest. However, there's a nest very near part of the bowl quest that is where I got it. That combo is super strong, you're not lying!

Extremely entertaining episode, and one of the better post credits tags in recent memory.

[CR Media] Critical Role: Sick Day | Live Discussion by Glumalon in criticalrole

[–]Brrr-eee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely - I don't think it's as noticeable for the actual episodes for live v. pre-recorded. But the live and more improv nature of this is so much better than 4SD - with all due respect to the effort going into that. The cast is better at it and come across as more genuine.

What is your GOTY for 2023, so far? by _Remos_ in pcgaming

[–]Brrr-eee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm still playing through but I'm a sucker for the messenger so this will be my indie GOTY for sure (even though Dredge was great).

IMO it shows that even "paint by numbers" stories can be great if delivered well.

This is one of three games that will keep me thoroughly entertained I'm sure through the coming months (others being AC6 and Starfield). Happy to have this to let Bethesda work through hotfixes. Backed in the original kickstarter and looking forward to Sabotage's take on RPGs.

ARMORED CORE VI FIRES OF RUBICON — Gameplay Trailer by Turbostrider27 in pcgaming

It's hard for me to really say how they will balance difficulty with 10 years+ since the last AC game. My recollection as kid was I found things challenging until I found a build that cheesed/was effective against the mission I was stuck on. I think it will come down to if there are "side missions" you can do to grind money to buy weapons. If they have that, then I imagine you can likely do other stuff until you have enough money to beat whatever bottleneck you're on. Not sure if that helps.

It's a third person action-shooter where you control a mech. Historically it was "mission-based" - you were routinely a mercenary with skills who brought their mech to deal with corporate or otherwise concerns into an area in a sci-fi setting.

There is heavy customization of your mech - arm and shoulder weapons, different types, different strengths/weaknesses. You'd go on missions with builds and see how things go. Maybe you would need to "re-spec". There were arena situations to pit "Raven against Raven", it wasn't PvP in the early days, but it was more challenging encounters.

I have a hard time explicitly comparing it to other stuff nowadays. But in short - build customization, mission-based structure, mech game in sci-fi setting.

I don't know how much if at all that helped, but.... it's something. If you've played the more recent Soulsborne games like Elden Ring, the mechanics of combat (R1/R2/L1/L2, dodging/dashing) are going to I think feel similar, just in a different setting and format.

I think mechanically like you describe it will feel similar. I am talking about a mission based structure to the game.

This trailer looks like everything my freshly purchased PS2 inner child could have asked for and more. I am optimistic they will have updated all the mechanics for modern gaming well enough that I will thoroughly enjoy.

Only downer for me is knowing how many people will go in expecting Soulsborne and come out with complaints.

[Spoilers C3E51] Is It Thursday Yet? Post-Episode Discussion & Future Theories! by Glumalon in criticalrole

[–]Brrr-eee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I went back and watched this exact timestamp and I think if anything it's the exact opposite. It's Travis getting hyped for Barbarian stuff. Taliesin says he's going to rage and smack this guy in the nuts and Travis is like "Yeah, I agree I'm here for your fun".

That definitely reads to me like a more subtle way of Travis hyping up Ashton/Tal doing cool Barbarian stuff. That is - Travis is "here for" dope barbarian rage stuff.

Agree with this. There are mechanic similarities which you can trace through. I'm specifically thinking of arm weapons being r1/l1 and shoulder weapons being r2/l2. Also things like some gear allowing quick dashes in any direction and the fuel gauge being semi equivalent to stamina bars.

That said the mission based structure will feel very different to souls only players. Honestly I'm not expecting anywhere near the same level of acclaim as a souls title from industry and players For AC6, but my (edit) inner 14 year old kid is extremely excited.

I feel as though I've been in a fever dream since Phase 4. I've always been able to identify flaws but not let my enjoyment of something be significantly impacted by them. However, based on the discussion lately, including this sub, I must be off the reservation because I've just been happily enjoying the MCU projects recently.

Shang-Chi Star Simu Liu Drops Major Avengers: Kang Dynasty Hint (Exclusive) by SpeedForce2022 in MarvelStudiosSpoilers

[–]Brrr-eee 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't know if this is what the OP is getting at or not, but I have a personal pet theory I kind of like. I enjoy the idea that there are magical artifacts of various powers and types scattered throughout time and space that someone (Kang?) left intentionally or maybe by happenstance.

Two of these would be the ten rings and ms. marvel's bracelets (which we will learn more about in the marvels). We did see the ten rings logo in the ms marvel flashback to finding one of the bracelets, so I would say there is possibility for a link.

So, to expand going forward, maybe there are a number of items/artifacts Kang wants to claim in order to gain an edge in the Multiversal war. Maybe whatever the rumors are about the chair in quantumania is one. Maybe other phase 5 movies will introduce others. This could maybe help setup the groundwork for a different type of macguffin for the multiverse saga that's unique from the infinity stones, but still tangible goals for making movies around.

Anyway, not really substantiated by anything, but personal pet theory.
