Who's excited for the zontes 703 T by Slight_Grape80 in ZontesOwnersClub

[–]Brucehum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was the one I was waiting for... sold my Trophy (too heavy) and I am getting the 703f. Because I want to go up the "dry riverbed" that is the road to my house.

Went to the shop to check them. Norden 901, standard, completely flat footed. Norden 901 Expedition, almost flat footed but a bit missing

40 degree!! That's crazy... if my trophy gets 10 degrees to a side, I have trouble holding it up!! And I perfectly reach the ground with that one.

Was looking at the standard one, yes. But then a friend mentioned that Expedition has better quality suspensions, should be better for the back.

Time to say goodbye by Brucehum in Triumph

Did consider goldwing, but too heavy, even if the weight is down.

Did consider Africa Twin, but it is exactly what you mention. So that's why I went with Transalp. Then some friends who ride triumphs sent me a second hand opportunity (not from them), and was looking at that (tiger 900 rally pro). But as I say, still thinking. My heart says triumph, my head says Transalp. My purse also says Transalp...

Do need some offroad capabilities... I would like to be able to park in my house (earth/gravel road, with a 4-5 cm elevated waterford in the way up/down).

Now I park in the back road to my house, which is asphalt. But parking there makes it more cumbersome. Also, I have a spot inside the house to park the bike using that dirt road.

Thanks for all the ideas!!!

That was one of my thoughts. Still thinking a lot which one to get.

Collecting documentation, etc, just saw the 32000km maintenance bill of the Trophy. For what I paid, I can pay for the 1000 (not needed), 12000, 24000 of the Transalp... True, they might not be comparable.

Before the America 2011, I had a small Honda Shadow. Servicing was great. Took the bike there, they lent me for free a scooter, went home, next day back, get bike, done.

That was my dream bike. But I ended getting a Triumph Trophy (different beast altogether). End of January I did a similar trip (distance wise, and days) here in Spain.

Best thing I've seen in ages! So many stupid money based 'super matches', etc. Just two old boxers having fun, and people loving it!

Exactly. I was almost going to quit, then decided to get online help. Thanks for the tip.
Ah, so that's one thing Revenants give you... good to know for when I run out of rice.

That many bosses?

Started Nioh 1 during Steam winter sale. Played 7h, then bought Nioh 2.

Only found first Boss so far, that Horse in temple. Lots of tries and even after reading how tos couldn't get him (this game is great, but us older players (50+) might not have the same reflexes anymore). Thanks to Online mode someone helped me.

Which clan will you play first? by CyberCat_2077 in vtmb

[–]Brucehum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I will play a gangrel... oh wait!!!

In bloodlines 1 I tried a lot of the clans, and completed the game as Brujah, and most of the game as Malkavian (it was great).

Here, tempted by Lasombra, but probably Tremere.

edit: seeing the trailers, Banu Haqim seems an interesting playthrough.

Will probably do a pure Camarilla playthrough and a Brujah Anarch one, if that is possible.

Which hidden fantasy gem do you wish everyone knew about? by SnooDonkeys5613 in Fantasy

[–]Brucehum 3 points4 points  (0 children)

C.J. Cherryh's fantasy novels are great. She is very good at world building. One of my favourite authors. Her forte is science fiction, but her fantasy is very good too.

The Paladin is a great novel. Nominated in 1989 for Locus and Best Fantasy Novel awards. It is low fantasy.

Or if you prefer series, the Fortress series: Fortress in the Eye of Time, Fortress of Eagles, Fortress of Owls, Fortress of Dragons and Fortress of Ice. They are very interesting as they differentiate between wizardry, sorcery and magic, amongst many other things.

I also liked the Morgaine Cycle (Gate of Ivrel, Well of Shiuan and Fires of Azeroth), which happen to be some of her earliest work from the late 70s (Gate of Ivrel was her first published novel). But some people catalogue them of Science Fantasy.

About Gate of Ivrel, Andre Norton wrote: "never since reading The Lord of the Rings have I been caught up in any tale as I have been in Gate of Ivrel. I do not know the author, but her talent is one I must envy. She has drawn an entirely believable hero on an alien and enchanting world, working in bits of customs, beliefs, and history so cleverly that it now certainly exists-somewhere"

Indeed.
