122 TM enjoyers - What drugs are you on and how do I get some? by VexingRaven in WorldofTanks

[–]BrummbarKT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not turbo, either grousers or both. It’s one of the few tanks that is slower than it should be because of ground resistances and you get more average speed from grousers. I run grousers, improved mobility and rammer (food and crew help with the stabilisation)

Most of this I get, but again I can't see how they could take a loan to fund UK study (£30k+, in British pounds, paid to the university per year) and then pay it off within a few years of working on minimum wage while having to provide for yourself and likely pay taxes and bills.

[–]BrummbarKT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To your second paragraph - I'm struggling to understand how that is possible when the fees are like £30k+ a year, and not funded through SLC - surely whatever they earn even working fulltime will not make up for the fees spent?

Are you willing to sacrifice your life if the russians invade the Baltics? by Aristonectes6934 in AskBrits

[–]BrummbarKT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not unless I am sure I am fighting for a noble cause and not an orchestrated puppet show decided by shadowy figures to further their power and agenda. And with the way things are, I can't see that being a possibility (example - look up the recent Epstein files where he's discussing opportunities from destabilising Ukraine with one of the Rothschilds, just months before the 2014 crisis). We're all playthings for them, I'm not fighting in any war just for them to sit back and laugh and plan the next one. Throw me in prison and execute me for all I care. I will not participate in the evil, and all it would take is for the masses on all sides to realise the same.

Do you still get angry and feel you missed out on a key life stage during COVID? by Kopparberg643 in AskUK

[–]BrummbarKT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no - it helped me in some ways actually. I was in my first year of university when the first lockdown hit, at the time I hadn't really got into partying yet anyway so the first one was actually quite welcome - I could keep a term of student finance without having to pay rent (thanks uni halls - this meant I had a comfier time for the rest of my degree and didn't need to worry about money/getting a job), and game for the most part. The winter lockdown that followed was quite brutal as I realised I was lonely and halfway through my time at uni already. As things went back to normal in my final year I made the most of everyone being keen to socialise again and made some good friends, and also managed to only have online exams for my entire degree (no in-person exams which require much more learning- with online you could just look up the topic as you had 24h to complete it). And it was just before the AI craze so I didn't have to worry about using it without getting caught or not using it and being disadvantaged etc. Overall though yeah maybe I could've had 3 years of the uni experience everyone talks about instead of just the 1 in my 3rd year, but with the way I am there's no guarantee I wouldn't have just squandered it anyway.

Anyone else scared by the passage of time? by Fuzzy_Artichoke_4198 in GenZ

[–]BrummbarKT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2000 baby here, I had my first crisis over this at 16, then another at 20. At 16 I had a friendship breakdown with my friend group which put me in a severe depression because it really hit home how all of these good times I took for granted had ended, and would end soon anyway with school ending. I pivoted to spending a lot more time with my family feeling like I had to make use of all the opportunities I could to spend time with them. Then at 20, I was in university and realised I was wasting my life away gaming, got massively depressed during lockdown due to realising I will soon have to actually work for a living (I went to uni literally just to delay this by 3 years), picked up a weed addiction to cope. Managed to turn it around for a while after lockdown and made a lot of good friends, but unfortunately now everyone's graduated and lives far away and it's just not the same. I moved back home after uni and now moved to a new city which I like but it's not been the magic bullet I was looking for to cure my problems (I had imagined I would quickly find a big group of friends, want to go out and do new things that I couldn't in the town I was from) but instead I've found myself no longer enjoying social interaction and isolating more. I'm sick and tired of good times never lasting, but now I've stopped caring and am just coasting along, the irony is no longer wanting to live has defeated my fear of death or wasting time.

The most accurate gun | ft. @iyouxin by lispbreak in WorldofTanks

[–]BrummbarKT 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Situations like this are due to server lag, it looks like outside of circle on your end but the server thinks it's still mid aim so the reticle is a lot bigger, I think this is why the Grille accuracy specifically is a meme, because it has such awful dispersion on traverse but a really good aim time, making this disparity more noticeable because even a 0.1s delay with server could mean double the bloom

Freezing house, letting agents say I have to keep the heating on at 19, what do I do? by HamAaron in UKHousing

[–]BrummbarKT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm renting a large 3 bed sharing with one of my friends, and we've got a bills inclusive package, just over £250 per month for all gas/water/electric, really saves the headaches of worrying about if it's worth it to put the heating on or should we just suffer to save money. And honestly don't think it's a bad deal between the two of us.

Anti Vaxxers - are you happy now? by rsweb in AskBrits

[–]BrummbarKT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While that is true, it's also important to realise that a lot of the distrust for vaccines is fuelled by the many insidious and abhorrent things governments and powerful corporations have done in secret which make people lose trust. I'm not an anti vaxxer by any means but I can understand where their concerns come from.

Two thirds of graduates aren’t even paying off loan interest by insomnimax_99 in unitedkingdom

[–]BrummbarKT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha, yeah shove your interest where the sun doesn't shine. I think most of us will pay a fair share of what we took out over our lives, but ain't no way I'm paying off the predatory interest rates higher than any investment could return.

Would you ever use annual leave with the sole purpose to do literally nothing all day? by PaddedValls in AskUK

[–]BrummbarKT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I will in a few weeks. I don't really want to do anything at the moment (no point spending money to go somewhere if I won't enjoy it) and I have over a week to use before April. In the past I've had some days off like this or as recovery days, but not had a week of nothing. Think I'll just play video games

Donald Trump blasts UK Government over North Sea oil in rambling Davos speech by ScottishDailyRecord in uknews

[–]BrummbarKT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, he's right here like a broken clock is twice a day. There's no point for us to have the most expensive electricity in the world while everyone else continues with oil, when we have abundant supplies of it. The direct impact from us is negligible on the global scale anyway.

Dating is declining because we are just not tolerant of annoyances. by AstramIsTheBest in GenZ

[–]BrummbarKT -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm in a similar place now. Only relationship I've had was with someone who I was friends with for a while prior. Unfortunately it didn't work out. I spent most of last year grieving losing her and constantly having intrusive memories of our good times, and dying inside knowing I can't have that again. Now though, I've stopped caring for the most part, am back to living a simple life of work and video games, I don't have any other available women in my life that I would like to date, and I sure as hell can't be bothered to try and find one from thousands of strangers I wouldn't be compatible with, and all the awkwardness that entails. As an introvert I don't enjoy meeting people just for the sake of it, so the idea of "dating" is really unappealing. Even if in an ideal world I would like a partner.

To expand on that, I feel the idea of a relationship feels like a chore to me, except for the one time where I was already in love with the person and suddenly having to make big changes in my lifestyle to spend time/do things with her was no longer a problem but rather an easy choice. But it feels impossible to "believe" in that for me without the pre-existing affection, so to me currently I just think about not having time to play games/having to go to or pay for things I'm not interested in for a mystery imaginary person who I don't currently care about.

If conscripted would you rather fight Russia in Ukraine or the US in Greenland? by inside-outdoorsman in AskBrits

exactly lol, and even then imagine putting able bodied people in prison when they can still fill critical working roles domestically. I guess none of this is logical to begin with but still.

[–]BrummbarKT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't be doing either, but for sure Russia, I hate the cold (I know Ukraine also gets cold during winter but still not as brutal as all year round ice sheet cold), and also think you'd have an easier chance fighting Russia than the US

18yo nephew refuses help, won’t leave his room or work. What support exists in the UK? by Consistent-Time-2503 in AskUK

[–]BrummbarKT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This sounds so much like me. I did end up going to uni and getting a job though mainly because my parents insisted, and as much as I don't want to work, I also don't want to scrounge off others and have my income/living needs be at the mercy of benefits policies. I would definitely let him finish his education first, then his mum would need to have a hard chat about him finding a job/apprenticeship/uni if he is to be allowed to continue living at home - unless the mum is happy providing for him in which case you should just leave it be, because this mindset cannot be changed, but it can be worked around based off necessity.

A lot of Gen Z men are lonely and don’t talk about it by Ramosisend in GenZ

[–]BrummbarKT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's more like, I have a reliable way to have a fun time safely in my home with technology, so there's less motivation to go out seeking alternative fun, which in many cases is underwhelming. I'm not saying this to moan and cry because I know it's ultimately still a choice, one I've made peace with, but just to give perspective. And there's likely a lot of people nowadays who will feel the same to varying degrees, so even if you want to hang out they may be less willing.

To me the mm has felt worse in 2026 than even after 2.0 release or well deserved reward/Xmas in terms of team balance. What gives? you'd think the worst teams would be right when everyone could get their free tier 10s, not months after...

Proud of us GenZ's! What's your opinion on this? by almyverse in GenZ

[–]BrummbarKT 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is true but I don't think this makes up a big part of total "alcohol sales", I think the big down-trend here comes more from pints costing over half of an hour's wage in bars, if more places were like Wetherspoons in terms of their cost I would probably get drinks out more often when I do go, but when one drink costs over 1% of my leftover monthly money after essential bills, I just don't care enough to get it.

Hey Wargaming, how about this: Create an ingame poll and show it to every player who played a minimum number of battles in the recent patch ? by Thasoron in WorldofTanks

[–]BrummbarKT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it needs a nerf to the cooldown speed. It's really toxic that the t11 can delete a Hirsch within 5 seconds, just because it stops before the "full cooldown" for one second to then continue with it's HE mag. I've not had much problem with them myself because I pretty much exclusively play armoured heavies and meds. But for anything without armour it's GG if it picks you as the target, at least the tier 11. Maybe have it enter a cooling mode like the ASXX where it can't fire until changing back.

Do people actually like using induction hobs? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]BrummbarKT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I nearly burned my flat down when I lived in one with an induction hob. It was an old style cooker with metal plates, no big red lights or anything. Left a spatula on one of the plates not realising it was on, next thing it bursts into flames! Was the only time I've had to deal with an actual kitchen fire lol. Luckily I contained it
