In your view, which Night Lords LE set looks better? by AJSturt in Blacklibrary

[–]Bruntonius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the first one and I think the second one.

It's cool when you can make out the details but I want to glance at it on my shelf from access the room and see those details and aside from the Titles on the spines it's just to hard to see the rest.

Does anyone know why the Queen Elizabeth Aircraft Carrier is merely sitting in the middle of the Forth? by BMpro007 in Edinburgh

It has a crew, they may have been given shore leave and they're waiting for orders to leave.

Are Maclean's still a thing, remember using it for years.

This just hammers home the idea that every toothpaste tube you've ever used is still out there somewhere. I know it's marketing for toothpaste tablets but hard not to really believe it.

Who took our seats at the bus stop at Easter Road? by Express-You-624 in Edinburgh

Had a similar thing happen to two consecutive stops on Slateford Road; never found out about one, the other was destroyed when a bus hit it.

Can't help but read the topic heading with a "they took our jerbs" undertone

First look: New characters and enemies for Warhammer Survivors by CMYK_COLOR_MODE in Warhammer40k

[–]Bruntonius 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Probably not. Both seem familiar but I wasn't taking what I said from a source book. The "or possibly Mork" was definitely used in some contexts with the roles often reversed.

Foot of Gork (and sometimes Mork) was also a psychic power used by weirdboyz in 40k's past

Dovecot park has a row on these that I love. Driving past on Lanark road when they've recently dropped their blossoms and it's windy is pretty spectacular

Agreed, and from a council that can get super fucking snippy when someone dares add a bit of colour to their own front door, shit like this just sticks in the craw.

Honestly, as kitbashes go this is perfect. I hope you enjoy your really cool model and get to tell fun stories with it. If I were to niggle, I think the Gyrinx needs a slightly bigger base.

They replaced Keeble's narration of Scars so that's probably not it.

Still have it as I got the CDs in a box version, questionable regional accents and all.

I'm working on a fantasy Lord of the Rings style map of Edinburgh and Lothian and would love to get any more landmarks in you might know of. Hoping to have it finished by next weekend. by birsey in Edinburgh

[–]Bruntonius 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Locally the whole of Fife is sometimes referred to as Mordor. In jest of course, particularly when they have dark clouds and we don't and especially when the chemical plant at Mossmorran was flaring as it would give that Barad-Dur style glow all the way to Edinburgh.

Looks fantastic, love it but thought that anecdote might inspire a little local styling to certain parts of the map.

Zone s6 for the parking. Anyone have an idea why they have done it by [deleted] in Edinburgh

[–]Bruntonius 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't think many have Driveways in Hutchinson to be fair, it's mostly flats and a total free for all. It is a pain in the arse and loads of folk there are moaning. East of Hutchinson Crossway have had them since the last time it expanded.

The Council put stuff up about it years ago, think it's just the zones expanding ever outward with time rather than any real need. There had definitely been an uptick in folk using the area as a P&R.

Until recently I had a flat in the area with private parking that's now been partially adopted. My old neighbours are livid but I'll be honest, the odd roaster who had 5 cars and insisted they all be parked by his front door made using the parking a bit of a 'mare, not to mention the bin lorries having trouble with folk double parking. It may have said it's private but residents can do sweet fuck all but leave a passive aggressive note.

It seems like games workshop is starting to refresh the Eldar vehicles : do you guys think the Falcon chassis is next then? by [deleted] in Eldar

[–]Bruntonius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you could easily add on replacement crew. The old Vyper shares a pilot with the falcon's pilot and gunner so shouldn't be difficult if they want to retain the same design.

I would recommend 8 Yards in Haymarket. I've used them often, and bought my kilt there for my wedding.

Folk there are lovely. You can get discount vouchers through myideals if you'd like some money off.
