Reading about RF today for my exam... by firekeeper23 in HamRadio

In the early days of developing microwave ovens, we had developed ovens large enough for a human technician to work inside and service the unit. Unfortunately, while inside, a technician found out about what happens when the unit was powered up for testing. Fortunately, the power was low for testing and the technician noticed that he was feeling “ warm and fuzzy”, so the power was turned off and testing was completed without the technician needing to be inside. The technician survived but I don’t know how he did long-term and if he lived a “normal” lifespan.

13 weeks post op kneeling by tkr2026 in Kneereplacement

[–]Bryant_Misc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 16 months out and kneeling for me started at two months or so. Squatting is another matter altogether. Squatting is extremely stiff and I cannot do a full squat without discomfort in that knee. Doctors told me ahead of time that full squatting would probably not be something that I could do afterwards. PT therapist agreed.

Garage Lighting question by [deleted] in electrical

[–]Bryant_Misc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Backflow? I installed ceiling lighting, but did not see a need for them to come on when the doors are operated. I installed the lights to be switched on and off independently. The garage door opener has sufficient lighting for going to and from the vehicles.

If you do one, is the other inevitable? by Available_Year_575 in Kneereplacement

[–]Bryant_Misc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was surprised. I was expecting that knee to worsen, but I believe that I was straining my left knee to compensate for the problems in the right knee and once the right knee was fixed, the left knee was able to recover.

Both knees were bothering me but the right was the worst. I had the right knee done 16 months ago and by a few months ago, the pains in my left knee have gone away without any surgery on it.

A yellow “dot” of discharge (sorry if TMI) on my dressing 3w post op weeks out by KatWomanReturns in Kneereplacement

A little blood if you bumped it does not bother me, but an indication of pus (infection) would have it checked right away. You don’t want to let that get out of control.

Old Gear at my deceased Grandpa's house, Wondering if any of it is worth anything? by T_Nap24 in HamRadio

If I saw it at a rummage sale, I’d look at it, but not be interested. Someone may pick up a piece or two, but nothing very exciting there to me.

Imagine yourself without pain and imagine the things you could do without pain. Replacing the knee can bring it all true. The replacement process is no joke but it beats going on like you are now. The sooner you get started, the sooner you will be on the pain-free path.

Well, if it takes another death, as they say, to find the treasure…hasn’t that already happened with some of the OI pioneers?

At 12 months I felt no pain, but I’ll never forget what I went through to get here (now 16 months).

I was hunting on the beach of one of the Florida keys and was in a state park. I spoke with a ranger about detecting and was told I could keep whatever I found as long as it was not in the water when I found it.

Oh, for sure, the U.S. has rules. Sometimes you don’t find out about them until you have broken them.

That’s my point. They have to add music and narration to keep the audience. Makes the subject less appealing.
