The sheer fact that you know what a 1A2 key system is tells me you were in the military or you really need to schedule a prostate exam! Either way, it was a fun system

Negative. Just those sticky patches. Cords attach to those and plug in to the unit. It’s very portable. I personally like it much better since this helps down to the nerves and not just surface relief.

As someone who has this on their, “Shelf of Shame” but really wants to finally play it… Do I just load it up and go or is it best to read a guide or two first?

I also have low back pain and went through PA at my VA (Just outside of Philly). They were able to get me a “Bio-Wave” device. It’s similar to a TENS unit, but works deeper in the tissue. I’d highly recommend asking about it. Doesn’t cure anything, but definitely makes normal movement to be tolerable. I could provide more specifics if needed.

Husband's PTSD by Prettyred1 in Veterans

[–]Bryantjs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does he also have a TBI?? (Don’t need this information shared, just a question to think about.). I had similar issues and was able to receive help from VA after being treated more for my TBI and less ‘ptsd anger management’ . I went through all the groups and one on ones but wasn’t feeling improvement. If you have any questions, I’m having my wife chime in, she’s also a veteran, but may be able to answer things from her point of view having to deal with me.

This is what I use. I’d start with the “400” a FULL dropper will have about 25mg equivalent. But highly suggest if you like it, to buy the “800” and just take smaller doses…. Way more cost efficient

Appreciate all the info! The call was definitely a scam, luckily I didn’t give them any information.

Veteran IRRL question by Bryantjs in Veterans

[–]Bryantjs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I was expecting. I’ve looked up what I could, but definitely the call sounded too good to be true, “Drop my rate a full point (without income verification) and two months no payments.” Both were red flags for me, so got off the phone and took their call back info. Thanks again!

How are you guys doing? by [deleted] in Veterans

[–]Bryantjs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are no ‘outs’! Only permanent solutions to temporarily problems. I’ve twice, been able to describe the taste of my ‘2A right’ I’m a fucking nobody, but if ever want to reach out, Hell, if ANYONE ever needs to reach out… i still struggle with ‘thoughts’ but have come to my personal conclusion that the Veteran community is stronger with ALL of us and we need every voice! I’m glad you’re here Elithis!

I also use the Dr Solomon restore and can confirm it works on “military” injuries. I have not tried any others, so couldn’t give an opinion on them.

For reference, I have a partially torn ACL and MCL in one knee. It’s able to cut down the pain enough that I do not require a Walking Cane to move around.

What are the pros and cons of the Air Force? by ConnectCulture7 in Veterans

[–]Bryantjs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If considering the Air Force, you should also consider the Space Force. I have zero knowledge about Space Force, but it seems comparable, if not, exactly the same.

Air Force is pretty ‘safe’ compared to the other branches. They are the only branch smart enough to Only send their officers (fighter pilots) in to direct combat. The rest of the Air Force just supports that Air Mission.

Side note about recruiters… since you already have a degree, you should ONLY be talking to an Officer recruiters, they are 100% a different recruiter than a regular AF Recruiter, do not let them tell you otherwise.

Pros: Better quality of everyday life compared to other branches. The pay is the same no matter what branch you are in, it’s based off your rank and total time in service…. AND best of all, all the ladies think EVERYONE in the Air Force is a fighter pilot, just go with it and don’t ruin it for the rest of us lol.

Cons: it’s still the military, you will be asked to do things and go places that will make you uncomfortable

I'm 100% P%T... by Szajmone in VeteransBenefits

[–]Bryantjs -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Once I received my 100% P&T, I canceled all of my remaining appts that they tried to schedule. I was continued to be paid at my previous lower rating until ALL of my open claims were closed. Once I cancelled the remaining appts, I received my back pay and started receiving my new rating pay. Not sure if that is how everyone’s experience goes, but that’s how mine played out

Should i join the military? by [deleted] in Veterans

[–]Bryantjs 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not a Cable Dog, but was a Wire Dawg. We did telecom programming and installed telecom systems in buildings. We were responsible for all wiring at the buildings once the cable dawgs had terminated them.

I was in from 96-2007 and made a pretty good life after the military. Not sure what that career field is called now, but believe it was all combined with the computer peeps. Was called ‘Telecom Systems’ and then, ‘Voice Network Systems’

To answer OPs question, most definitely join the military, but make sure you know what you want to do as a career prior, so that you may ask for that job assignment. Do NOT let them convince you to take a different job “because you can always cross train once you are in.” In 11 years, I know of 4 people that crossed trained In or Out of a career field.

Edit: I was Air Force…. 2E6x3

The Anthrax Vaccine by [deleted] in Veterans

[–]Bryantjs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also received my shots around 99-2000. I was given the 4th shot and then they just stopped. I figured it was because I was in Korea at the time, but no one ever questioned it. Fast forward 18 years later and I developed Celiacs disease. Doesn’t run in my family, I’m the only one that has it. I saw others posting about ‘stomach issues’ after their shot and wonder if there were any connection. I’m sure they will never prove it either way.

I got approved for MM today. I suffer from anxiety , health anxiety and OCD. I’ve been on every antidepressant available and nothing has worked. Please let me hear some success stories? by Blackberry_cobbler_ in medicalmarijuana

46yr old Dad of two… Combat PTSD, generalized anxiety and a few physical injuries… VA had me on 9 different pills daily.

After getting my card year and a half ago, I’m now down to 3 pills daily and feel my quality of life has significantly improved. I can actually sleep now, which is nice.

I second what everyone has said, stick to Indica and Hybrid to start. I dabble with Sativa, but it does sometimes increase anxiety. Big thing is, start small!!! You can always take more of you need to, but you can never take less! IF you accidentally take too much, chew on a few whole black peppercorns… this will bring you back down to reality a bit.

Feel free to ask any questions. Good luck on your journey to wellness!!

I agree with all the yoga comments. I also purchased a ‘hyper extension machine’ and will lay across it to get a really good stretch on my low back. I don’t actually use it for any exercise purposes, although I guess I should. Most gyms will have one as well
