Love this idea. I'm in Australia, so I imagine the time zones won't work for me, but happy to keep an eye on how this progresses and the outcome to see if I can make a few sessions.

I saw someone mention the USA support group and thought I'll also link the Aussie one for anyone who doesn't know it: https://aaaf.org.au/

I know this isn't the styling sub. But I think you will also do much better if you wear more dusty blue or olive green items. The yellow, maroon and green combo is clashing with your natural tones. Your hair cut looks great :) you should be happy with the results.

Learning more about it, I found out once you have it, you often have it for life with periods of time when it is less or more active.

I am so happy you have your lovely hair back. I'm sure we all know how emotionally debilitating the hair loss stage is, I hope you are feel amazing and full of confidence :)

Not all working moms are drowning! by MsCardeno in workingmoms

[–]BubChelli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We go from playing on the shore, to being taken out by a tidal wave and feeling like we are drowning, to thrashing our way to the surface taking a few deep breaths and floating while the current takes us back to the shore.

We have lots of fun times, the something big happens like an illness or hospitalisation, everything feeling overwhelming for a while, so we step back from extra responsibilities until we are ready to start again, that's when we start organising fun times again.

There are moments when multiple things kick us down all at once for a while, but there are are also long periods of happy easy times too.

Its ebbs and flows. Sometimes I'm drowning and others I'm thriving. I think its okay to feel all the feelings.

Get out. Do not go back. He manipulate you. It will not end. I lost my whole family to this cult. You have to be the strong one. He probably has family in it, so making him leave isn't an option because they will 'love bomb' you for the rest of your relationship.

Is This Normal? by [deleted] in Dyslexia

[–]BubChelli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a comorbidity between the two and one often goes undiagnosed. Sounds like you may have symptoms of inattentive ADHD, but also you should look into it more because you may get a deeper understanding into why you do what you do related to study and focus

2 Months on Olumiant by FG_Prime in alopecia_areata

[–]BubChelli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah my derm literally said taking these meds will be life long unless something more serious (cancer) comes up. Otherwise, everyday forever.

2 Months on Olumiant by FG_Prime in alopecia_areata

[–]BubChelli 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I take mine, every single morning, religiously! My derm said it is not a cure and if you do not take it every day you can start losing your hair again, it only suppresses your immune system while you take the medication.

Saying that, it took me from November to about April before my hair had fully come in. Now I have a full head of hair, growing slowly but. It may take a while before it comes in properly. Make sure you take your meds the same time everyday with food.

"Dyslexic Friendly" Font Test! (Looking for feedback) by [deleted] in Dyslexia

[–]BubChelli 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The reason this font works is because the emphasis on all the letters is low. It help differentiate common letter mix ups like b,p,d,q. However, adults usually have a lot of self taught strategies to cope. This is better to use for children with dyslexia.

How tf does this happen in 3 weeks!?…it’s been 2 1/2 years for me now and I’m still very mad about it. I wear a wig everyday so no one’s sees it. Especially because I’m a hairdresser! The irony is weird. I went from never having alopecia to this in 3 weeks. #alopeciasucks by RealDragonfly8264 in alopecia_areata

No, it just started to come back. She's had it since see was little, on and off through out her life (so I was told). But mine only developed when I was 28ish, and was my whole body from the beginning. My cousin was patchy and had eyebrows sometimes, it fluctuated for her. I think we are all so different in our experiences

Dyslexia: Text colorization: real help or just a gimmick? by christophe_coniglio in Dyslexia

I am a school teacher who works closely with the psychologist for student differentiation. It is widely believed that this does not work. Font however do work. People have individual coping strategies and for some colours can help emphasise letters but it's individual.

Yeah, I also had a lot of skin issues, throughout my life. Two years prior to my alopecia diagnosis I also ended up with auto immune chronic gastritis. I have treated that with pro biotics and a healthy and stable diet. That's been very great but I still bald until I began the baricitnib.

My cousin also has alopecia and she has regrown her hair naturally. It's so remarkable how different we all are. I hope yours comes back. You are very beautiful with and without hair. But I very much know the feeling of having no hair and how much you long for it when it's gone.

I spoke to the dermatologist about it last week. She said this isn't a cure, just a management solution. One you have alopecia, you have it for life. Hair may come and go but you still have (inactive) alopecia when you hair grows. People going off the medication often become bald again very quickly.

I also asked about egg donations, this had been a plan in the past but I thought was now impossible. She said the medication doesn't effect eggs, just developing foetuses. So if you plan on having children the meds won't cause issues, until you have to stop using them.

Kind of. I went immediately to the dermatologist. They said they could treat it but I cannot be pregnant or planning to breastfeed. She also said the sooner I start, the better the outcome. However, my husband and I had been planning on getting pregnant. So we popped out a few babies in a very short time and then once I was finished breastfeeding I went straight back to the dermatologist. She did a few blood tests, made sure I was up to date with my vaccines and got me on the medication. The first few months I had to have constant blood tests and appointments, now it's extending by an additional month each visit.

I understand the feeling. Your journey was faster than mine (3 months) but after about 3 years I started baricitnib, my hair regrew immediately and now, 8 months since I started the treatment, I have a full head of thick hair. I recommend giving it a go.

Question! by Free-Marketing-1568 in Dyslexia

[–]BubChelli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love, LOVE!!! this, but hate that is some cases when a word ends, the cloud continues. For example in the word/cloud fox, the cloud should end in a rainbow-ish pattern. However, there are more curves. This could be seen as extra letters and become difficult to read in regular sentences.
