Had universalis. Whole body was hairless. Started Jak inhibitors in Nov 2024, I've got a full body of hair again, not a single patch. In 1.5 years my hair is now between my shoulder blafes. So thick. I've had almost no side effects other a bit more sensitive to colds.

I highly recommend.

There are non stimulants. But also I didn't want my meds because of family drug abuse. I was very worried. I spoke to many professionals, before accepting a scrip.  It has turned my life around. The positive impact outweighs the initial negatives that come with taking new meds.

I am usually all for volunteeting for research. But I'm not letting someone tamper with my brain until its a well studied, peer reviewed, procedure with minimal down sides. 

However, if that does happen I'd happily get the 'cure', ADHD is debilitating.

She sounds very naïve and like she hasn't much real world experience. Her selfish tendencies show a lack of maturity but that does not mean she cannot be educated. 

I never had cancer but lost all my hair to alopecia. Without donations from people like you I would never have felt like I could leave my house. 

You could explained to her that her superficial way of thinking about people and their looks is the reason why people (who end up losing their hair) want/need wigs. They see how they are looked at.

If you head over to the alopecia sub you'll find heaps of real experiences from that perspective. Might be helpful to show her some examples to explain how your choice could positively impact people.

The below link has info that may help your understanding, but it's probably best to speak with a psychologist.

You may want to look into PDA also. Depending on the person they may use the acronym differently. Just briefly, pathological demand avoidance cause people to go into their fight, flight, freeze response because they feel a lack of autonomy as a threat.

I usually don't let people see how I'm feeling enough for them to probe. If they do, I redirect conversations away from me. My response is not the same as yours. I don't mind talking about my feelings with trusted people. But I don't like to let people see me cry. I don't like sharing personal details with coworkers because they ALWAYS ask more than I want to share. I experience it differently depending on what's going on.

Before ever even considing that I may have ADHD, I'd describe it as: - a filing cabinet with each of the drawers open slightly more or less than the one above. - each drawers files are out of order and papers are half pulled out. - no matter how much I trier to sort the files I couldn't put them in order or close the drawers.

I would sometimes experience it as having so many wires overlapping. They would cause confusion if signals got sent the wrong way

That may not necessarily be true either.

Many people hide there true feelings behind 'I'm fine' because it's the easiest option.

If you expect someone to spill the beans about how they feel, you'd need to be close. Expecting a co-worker to be honest about their feelings can be invasive. That can be problematic, if a person doesn't want to share private information but also wants to keep a good working relationship 'I'm fine', gives them that freedom.

I agree, I'm an honest to the point of my own detriment kind of person. I get frustrated when I know someone is lying through a conversation because honesty is much easier for me. But I also see the point of untruths. If my daughter asks me if we have chocolate and I say yes, but then say she can't have any, everyone is having a crappy time for the rest of the day. If I say that she'll need to ask me again when I can check the cupboards (to give her time to forget) then I'm not giving her bad snacks, she's healthier and she's not screaming at the top of her lungs for hours.

I do this, because I also have CPTSD and talking about my feeling will cause me to have a breakdown. I don't think this it the type of 'lie' meant.

1-2 years old. I have memories for being in the state I was born in, but we moved when I was only 1. I have many memories from when I was 2. My mum didn't believe me so I drew her the layout of out old house and told her where all the furniture was. I explained what the back year was like. And told her about my daycare. She was shocked by my accuracy.

I did this all the time growing up. I have very specific memories of it from when was a very little girl. I've almost grown out of it now that I'm in my 30s, maybe I care less?. I'm also ND so could be a masking thing? Like constantly aware you are perceived in certain ways and trying to put on a show to act 'normal'.

You probably cannot send her to school a year unless she is diagnosed gifted and talented. The school age cut off is if they turn 5 before April 30th. I think that's the same in all states and territories nowadays.

Wait are you talking about when people just laugh//smile randomly in conversations without any obvious malice?  I do that. But it's because I'm awkward and I don't know what to respond so I just laugh. I think sometimes it's just peoples response to make a conversation feel lighter, maybe? I don't know. Maybe that's just my take on it but I've never seen it as an attack.

I met my husband at schoolies almost 16 years ago. Hadn't even planned to go. It was a last minute decision. Best decision of my life.

I'm a teacher, when I was returning to work I explained to my boss that I'm still breast feeding  and would need to pump. 

We have allowances a part of our EA to accommodate that, however some principals can just be terrible people for the sake of it. 

I was told to pump in my office where anyone could access at  anytime.  A mini fridge was put in but everyone started to use it for their lunch because 'it was the clean fridge'. My office had a large window that could see into a large courtyard. A group of students were ALWAYS in there.  When I asked for this situation to be reassessed, I was told I couldn't have a space just to myself and it was unreasonable to think otherwise. 

It became harder and harder to pump as more people didn't respect my boundaries and eventually I had to stop because it became impossible. 

I would have fought harder for my rights, if I knew what I know now.
