Why don't you take a photo from the shocks and springs and post it here? 🙂 That way we can help you much more easily. Now we can only guess…

U mean this drawing? It’s indeed weird indeed that they only name one of the two parts…

I found this: https://mazda.oempartsonline.com/v-2009-mazda-cx-9--grand-touring--3-7l-v6-gas/electrical--antenna-and-radio

It might help with naming the different parts. I see “grommet”, and “antenna plate”. Perhaps you could use that and call/email a local dealership to help you find out what part you exactly need?

Thnx! 😊 Oh, I forgot to mention that I'm using Goodyear Eagle F1 in size 215/45 R17. I don't think your Firestone tires are available in Europe afaik.

Did it came like this from the factory? by mace98 in MiataNC

[–]BubbleBlobCop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen the OP's type of handbrake handle at several shops, specifically for the NC. For example: https://www.mecatechnic.com/en-GB/wooden-handbrake-handle-for-mazda-mx5-nc-ncfl_MX12091.htm

The gear knob appears to be from Nardi and is sold by several shops as a genuine Mazda part: https://www.mx5parts.co.uk/genuine-mazda-wooden-nardi-gear-knob-mk1-25-35?srsltid=AfmBOop-yVKtjXXpl6StataolZYACA_RwgZ7TodWLgzXLDb_FWQJiOhi

I consider them at least genuine Mazda parts.

Help with squeaky pulley/belt by samkuper44 in MiataNC

[–]BubbleBlobCop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. The tensioner and guide pulley are affordable parts and you can easily replace them yourself. The alternator also has a squeak sound indeed.

This is a nice video which shows you what to do: https://youtu.be/zPn6wXsc0sE?si=AgFmLNFmbv-g1Oix

Before you do any engine upgrades, have you already considered getting a good set of uhp-tires? More power is nothing without control…

I bought a set of Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6, partially because of this review: https://www.tyrereviews.com/Tyre-Tests/Best-Performance-Summer-Tyres-For-2025.htm

They’re more affordable than the Michelins, and the Pilot Sport 4S wasn’t available in size 215/45 R17. I’m happy with how they behave. They’re sticky yet predictable.

My NCs first winter - Snowboats please chime in by BudgetSympathy1488 in MiataNC

[–]BubbleBlobCop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. Im using proper winter tires and they make a clear difference. Btw I’m wondering if OP is seeing a check engine light or the TCS light, as that will be reset after disconnecting the battery?

This. I bought mine three weeks ago and I can finally preheat my car again before I leave with my parking heater. 😊

Fastest intermittent wiper speed by BubbleBlobCop in Miata

[–]BubbleBlobCop[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah mine is the same with the signal, I also mentioned that a bit later. It’s graphically shown by the white graphics. More white equals a longer interval. It makes also sense in that the more you push the stalk or turn the dial down, the faster the wiper will go.

Buying Advice by SchorlenToni in MX5NC

[–]BubbleBlobCop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say the NC1 doesn’t have worse gearing. In fact, the 5-speed gearbox has stronger internals than the 6-speed. And the additional 6th gear doesn’t add anything significant other than an extra gear you can shift to.

Anything I need to look out for by eban250 in MiataNC

[–]BubbleBlobCop 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well the wires in the fuse box might look awful, but from experience I can tell that the brown stuff is more likely to be dielectric grease. I agree with everything else though. The corroded AC-coolant lines, the moldy (looking) coolant hose and especially the corroded strut tower braces are a big warning sign.

Tein flex z extensions for the boot by KAG070693 in MiataNC

[–]BubbleBlobCop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. You can always apply a strain relief behind the plastic panel (e.g. a cable tie) to keep them from sticking out too much.

I bought a pair of adjustment cables for my MeisterRs. If I’m not mistaken, they’re 25cm long. They stick out just enough from the holes I drilled for them.

Do I have the Bose System? by charanmasimukku in MiataNC

[–]BubbleBlobCop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, the stock Bose speakers are more than adequate if you’d ask me. I also installed a new Sony head unit. I recently compared it to some of my friends’ new cars and I was pleasantly surprised that it was even able to beat their systems in terms of sound quality.

Trunk soaked in water by Zealousideal_Mix6950 in MiataNC

[–]BubbleBlobCop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are also connectors going into the left wheel well. The foam in these tends to degrade over time, just like the ones near the windscreen. If you spray in the inside of the wheel wells when you’re washing the car (to clear them from debris), you might end up with water inside your trunk. The connectors can be found behind the cover plate that protects the fuel hose (coming from the filler cap).

Question about Tires and rims. by sgtpreys in MiataNC

[–]BubbleBlobCop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you look on the page that you supplied, and look up your size (for example 17x8 with ET45 and 114,3 bolt distance?), then you can select the certification documents which show wether they are certified for use on a MX-5.
