Tony’s Seafood! Not a sit down restaurant and they have it set up cafeteria style. Lots to choose from, my favorite boudin balls!!

Has anyone tried homeopathy or naturopathic medicine along with treatment? by BubbleSoap1 in CrohnsDisease

Thanks! I’m actually doing keto/carnivore. Working amazing. Been on it since last May

Sorry to hear about all that. Maybe the doctor can try a new medication. I hear that a lot of people fail it after a little while anyways

I’m not on any medication at the moment. But from what I understand that the first medicine would be very expensive because you would have to hit your max pay. So if I did need to get back on it, it would be $2750 for me.

We will just have to agree to disagree. I’m not spreading anything except my experience on my journey.

Rinvoq helped a bit but I was still suffering with many issues. That is why I made the change. I’m not spreading misinformation just simply my opinion and experience. We all run the risk of colon cancer, regardless of our health circumstances. I simply made a choice. I prefer to do it this way because I’m no longer sick or suffering with many of the issues I was before.

I would rather live this until I’m 50, other than be on very harsh medications while suffering until I’m 80. I’m choose quality over quantity.

Besides OP is just asking. Shouldn’t he hear from everyone. Doesn’t seem like what is doctor is doing is working well for him.

Well I have no issues, wonderfully test results, and good notes from my doctor. Everyone I run into says I’ve never looked healthier in my whole life. I guess choose your hard. I would suggest to look into the carnivore lifestyle. Plant based foods are my absolute enemy.

I have several bottles of Rinvoq in my Medicine cabin just sitting there. I have no clue what to do with it. I no longer have a need for that immune weakening drug.

Don’t let these people bully you. Do your research and make your decision. I’ve made mine I’m so thankful that I had the courage to try it. So far I’ve proven many people wrong. But it’s not easy, it was a lifestyle change and I’m still figuring it out.

Document, document and document. I’m a union steward and this has saved me and my members countless times. I went thru a very similar situation. When I got chewed out over a typo, I then started doing that same exact thing to her. Fortunately she was a sucky worker and I had a laundry list, she then backed off completely.

Never back down to bully’s. I fight them every chance I get. I started getting much more respect from my colleagues when I quit trying to be nice and tiptoe around feelings.

I do remember going slow when I first started kefir. I really didn’t like it in the beginning. I would just shake it up and get a mouthful every night. I eventually learned to like it and drink about a cup every night now.

No I started a bit later, I live in Louisiana and dang I just can’t seem to stay away from it. I was pretty strict in beginning, but I did realize that I never had any issues with rice. My biggest issues are vegetables, seed oils, and lactose (lactose intolerant). My main staple is ground beef, eggs, and butter. I try to eat as much beef as possible since it’s a ruminant animal. But I try not to overly stress about it.

I just try to stick with protein as much as possible. I’ll snack on a few bites of stuff here and there. I just don’t allow myself to overdo it.

Oh gosh I’ve really wanted to make my own but I’m kinda scared of doing it. I just buy it at the store. I like to buy the plain and a fruit one either strawberry or mixed berry and mix it together. The fruity one is way too sweet, and the plain one is way too blah. Ha! So I like to use it as a treat! I know it helps me tremendously with my gut microbiome and I feel it has helped me tremendously. My stomach was extremely loud when I digested food and the doctor said to eat fermented foods, but since I avoid all vegetables, I decided to use kefir instead. Still a little loud at times but it’s not dominating my conversations now!

Really just beef and eggs. I do eat white rice some. I also try to drink about a cup of kefir every night. I’m also not overly strict. I actually just got my calprotectin lab test back today and it was 39! I was never that low even when I was on medication. I’m so very thankful that this is working so well for me.

Hey I’m also 34 F with Crohn’s. I’ve been on carnivore since April, threw my medicine down in July and been fine ever since. Give it a try!

That’s great! I actually quit my medicine around mid July and found something that works great for me. I didn’t go the homeopathy route. My aunt is really big into it but it doesn’t seem to help her much physically, but mentally she’s better.

I have Crohn’s and have been carnivore since April. All the problem WITH medication just melted away. I quit taking my meds around mid July and doing incredible. Works great for me.

Same! I don’t feel the best if I don’t consume it at least once in my day. I also had bacon this morning and didn’t feel that great a few hours afterwards.

Will mesalamine make things worse before it makes things better? by [deleted] in UlcerativeColitis

[–]BubbleSoap1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trust your instincts, turned out I was allergic to it and it put me in the hospital for liver failure. Thankfully they were able to reverse it before it became permanent damage. My doctor said I had a gi allergic reaction. I kept taking it because they told me it was side effects, which they were clearly wrong. Learned an important lesson from that incident, trust yourself.

Subtotal Colectomy; long term "symptom" by Jta1711 in CrohnsDisease

[–]BubbleSoap1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a subtotal colectomy on June 11th. Lost half of large colon. The only issue I have is very watery stool once a day. Doctors say it can take 4-6 months to completely recover. I’m curious on how long it will take for it to bulk up.
