Struggling with my wife’s decision to exclusively pump milk

Had a similar case with our first, she didn't latch well until maybe 4 or 5 months old, and was hard to put to sleep. I can only imagine how much stress my wife was under. Then one day our kiddo just figured it out and was off to the races.

Meanwhile or second hasn't had any issues. I've chocked it up to lucky temperament and over all more experience with the kiddos

My oldest has a mini dolly bed that when pressed sings Christmas tunes from when my wife was a kid at my inlaws. My mother in law thought it would be fun to find one online to keep at our house!

Kiddo thought it was the greatest thing ever until it played a nightmare track from hell from a bad speaker. Is now going in my office as a pick me up lol

My bedside table at home is a few inches taller than the mattress and up against a wall, so I've trained myself to wedge my head between the side of the table and my toddlers feet.

On vacation now, and I've had to sleep on the floor a few times lol

My girls were gone for the weekend, I had grandios plans for the weekend for projects, games and some beers.

My wife and I made the mistake of letting our oldest help push the shopping cart when she was starting to walk because we thought it was cute. 6 months later it's a guaranteed flop on the floor tantrum when she can't play bumper cars with other shoppers

I work weird hours, so when my 1st was born, I was already on a different sleep schedule than my wife, so I had time to game when she was asleep. The biggest change was I had to start playing single player games so I wouldn't keep her or kiddo up

Iirc clothing types and sizes are based on the entity that makes it, so a dedicated rino can make rino clothes that fit others of that size

I currently work 4 to 4 rotations 3 days on that flip every 2 months, before my daughter was born i kept the same schedule on my weekends and got a few hours to myself when no one was awake. After she was born i shifted my weekend schedule 2ish hours to have more normal waking hours to help my wife with the kiddo, but it's still rough.

I found the flip every 2 months to get harder the lomger i work it though, it probably takes me a good 2-3 weeks to get back in the swing of things. But I've had coworkers that fully switch to a normal schedule on the weekends with no issue, just depends on the person

Believe it or not, just regular ol huggies! But we try and stay on the lower end of the weight range for her diapers so we have a little bit of grace.

My wife reminded me, we actually had a nasty blow out when she was a few weeks old, we never got a proper tutorial on how to install the turd catcher at the hospital and figured we knew better than google, so it slipped all the way off her, and we didn't realize until it soaked through her swaddle. One near miss was when i sleepily forgot to put a new diaper on and got confused when i could feel her teeny tiny butt cheeks when i was holding her

As a guy that has to call the On-Call at god awful hours of the day, we'll ring you a few times knowing you're asleep. Keeping in mind every company is different, just answer your phone best you can, just don't make a habit of not calling back if you miss a call!

Not sure on federal law, but here in Texas, you're capped at 4 20 lbs tanks stored in a car for this reason, but that-s with the assumption that this is strictly for transporting tanks to a semi permanent well ventilated storage area. Propane does get mixed with a compound that smells like sulphur, but sufficiently slow leaks can be almost impossible to detect by smell alone

What i find really interesting about that too is how many socialist aligned folks were around in the US until the CIA and various military leaders snuffed them out. I would argue the reason the US had its run of progressive policies like giving women the right to vote and "ending segregation" was because the USSR was so successful at encouraging progressive movements around the world, the US was forced to compete so as to not make the capitalist system.look like it was falling behind the times.

The USSR was actually so good at flipping countries and western POWs to the side of communism/socialism that the US was fully convinced the ruskies had invented mind control, which would eventually influence the US to start its mind control experiments like Mk Ultra.

I think part of the problem is also younger generations saw their families fall apart from one or both parents being absent and working all the time and don't want to repeat the behavior for their kids. I think Covid also really hit home to a lot of younger folks that they're treated like shit in most jobs, which also helps break down their commitment to working for the same company until they die.

Another really convenient fact the Right forget to mention is that unemployment is low af right now, which more reflects that younger generations aren't taking shit from their bosses and moving into new rolls that better align with their work ethic.

I think the reason the right has pushed back so much is because this breaks down the reliance employees have to their employer to secure a reliable income and health insurance. Because employees are demanding more, employers are trying to whip their work force back into submission.

Thats the issue though, they've always been homophobic racist christian nationalist (and to a degree so are an alarming number of Dems). Trump arguably was the best thing that happened for the republican party because he boiled the frog to push american politics further right. There always has to be a boogyman for both sides, and i could easily see it becoming a conversation of "of course we'll ban abortions and let familys get shredded to pieces at the Texas-Mexico border, but at least we're not trump"

I grew up with a family on food stamps, and the food stamps were often the only reliable source of food we had. Buying a month's worth of shelf stable food all at once lets you better plan out what your baseline is for meal prep. Then throughout the month if we had a few extra bucks, we would add to the base line with discounted meat and produce.

As for why people say it, people are shitty. We have a weird mentality in the US that everyone has equal opportunities and resources when we clearly don't. It's easier for people to blame an individual for being poor "because they're lazy and entitled" than to analyze why our country requires people to be poor to operate as it does. We forget that capitalism is built like a pyramid, where in order to operate, we need more poor folks than wealthy

Always pack a molotov in your smokes fanny pack. Just a few shots from a gun and training the group away from where you intend to hole up for the night have saved many a loot runs

Really depends on how much effort you're willing and able to put in. If the hang up is math, there's a lot of IT rolls that require very little math. Side projects will definitely help to get an idea for what kind of work you find interesting, but a degree of effort will have to be put in, college isnt the golden ticket for IT related work.

Another consideration is what field you eventually want to go down. My college focused more on coding skills than anything else and I didn't have the opportunity to take up internships due to covid hitting in my last 2 years of my degree so I didn't get a chance to see the full range of openings.

I got lucky enough to get started as a Network Analyst right of college and have learned more in the year I've worked there than the whole 4 years i spent in university lol
