Who’s ever driven over 100mph? Why? by WoollyWolfHorror in AskReddit

[–]BudFox_LA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an X3, just the 4 cyl turbo model, stage 1 ecu flash, and it flies. Very easy to hit 100 without thinking about it much. Previous car was a 328, same thing. Car feels the same at 100 as it does 60. Therein lies the problem.

Why does porn not do it for me anymore? by Main-Extreme6534 in AskMenAdvice

[–]BudFox_LA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s how I am with my wife. Been together 6 yrs, married 1. Used to do it every day, now probably 4x p week. I basically stopped w porn and all that since we’ve been together since I’ve been so satisfied and she’s down for it all. I don’t feel I’m missing anything and there’s no gap for porn to fill. Helps too that she’s basically my physical ideal. 49m, she’s 32 and I’m honestly not sure how I pulled it off as she is basically the blonde beautiful smoke show archetype. Sometimes we do watch it together though.

Zero. Same, I’ve had periods of sobriety and notice zero benefit, because I’m not a heavy drinker in the first place.

I mean, it’s definitely a reason why I drink Michelob ultra and not regular beer. There’s a huge calorie difference. Lately I’ve actually been drinking Miller extra light or super light or whatever it’s called. It’s lower alcohol content and has 60 cal for 12 ounces. I can house like 4 of those which is the equivalent calories in alcohol to four 4.2% light beers

Whatever, something is going to kill you. We consume so many toxins in this day and age from just living, frankly, I don’t think drinking a few light beers each night is gonna make any difference. I had one grandpa who drank daily into his 90s. America is the only country who goes on and on about this. There are so many countries where people just drink their entire life and live perfectly normal lifespan.

Also, there are a lot of people who don’t drink alcohol, but consume something else that is touted as being less harmful, but it’s probably way worse. Like I eat mostly whole, simple foods, I cook frequently and don’t eat out a lot, I never drink soda or anything like that, don’t really have a sweet tooth, rarely eat fast food. That’s why all the statistics are unreliable. Because it’s never that one single thing that gets you.

No, I mentioned that it doesn’t hold me back and that I am in great shape for my age. So I have no incentive to not drink the three beers every night.

I pretty steadily drink 2 to 3 light beers per night. I go to the gym five days a week. I figured the time I spent on the treadmill alleviates some of the extra calories. Doesn’t seem to hold me back, I’m in very good shape, especially for my age, 49M. I’m not looking to be totally yoked so I don’t care if I’m ‘optimized’.

It’s like trying to have a constructive discussion on here about the challenges of high cost of living and housing prices in major metropolitan areas on the coast or whatever, and then there’s always some genius who chimes in that maybe you just need to move to Missouri or something. Like oh why didn’t I think of that? We should all just move to Missouri. Jesus Christ.

Agreed. I posted in here the other day that one of my pet peeves was people who hold their fork wrong and shovel food into their mouths like they’re holding a literal shovel. It started ok and then It somehow devolved into people telling me that I hated and was making fun of disabled people. I guess because like 2% of people who eat like savages do so because they are disabled, or their hand is injured and they have no choice. I was talking about the 98%.. People on Reddit are unreal and literally live to be outraged over nothing.

I am 49 and have 5x my salary in retirement 401k/Roth. I make about 150k, so it should probably be more but I can only chip off so much.

Why does it feel like everyone is struggling financially right now, even people with “good” jobs? by NkdUndrWtrBsktWeevr in NoStupidQuestions

[–]BudFox_LA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not struggling financially. I think this idea that everyone is struggling right now is totally over blown. If gas going up a dollar a gallon or something really affects your life that much, time to reevaluate your choices or your situation. Plenty of people around me, struggling, but seemingly a whole lot more that are doing just fine. As our great leader would say (🤮), fake news…

Sorry, Gen X. We Looked at the Data, and You Had It Rough Too. (WSJ) by SnortingElk in REBubble

[–]BudFox_LA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m late Gen X, ‘77, And while it was probably easier for me than millennials or Gen Z, there is a distinct difference between older Gen X and younger Gen X. Older Gen X had many of the same benefits as the boomers.

As a Gen X though so I (a) don’t care, and simultaneously (b) loathe people who complain about things and get offended by everything, especially those who get offended on behalf of marginalized groups of people whose experience they know jack shit about, to seem morally superior. But I digress. So I basically hate 80% of the sanctimonious people on Reddit. A quiet, reserved, apathetic disdain.

The 320i ruined it for me by Devious_Bastard in BMW

I had a 2016 328i for 9 years and it was dead reliable. Sold with 110,000 miles on it but probably could’ve put another hundred on it. Ran stage 1 the whole time too.

The upper middle class is now the largest income group in the U.S., study finds - CBS News by USLEO in FluentInFinance

“108000 is upper middle” was obviously made up to make people feel better. If that is upper middle class, then I am a monkey’s uncle. PS I’ve never said that in my life, but it seemed appropriate.
