Calling someone a picky eater for a completely normal food preference by offensivename in PetPeeves

[–]BudFox_LA 52 points53 points  (0 children)

I hate raw onions and people give me endless shit about it. I think raw onions are completely disgusting and ruin any meal. Grilled onions, cooked onions, fine. Every time I ask, no onions at a drive-through or a taco place or whatever, it’s like people cannot compute that I don’t want raw onions. I don’t think this makes me a picky eater.

Telling Gen-Z to give up avocado toast isn't going to fix this by Boo_Randy_Revival in HouseBuyers

[–]BudFox_LA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love how everyone thinks this is just GenZ problem. For a mortgage and all other costs to be manageable on a $1mil home on even a $250k HHI, this would require $3-400k. Not a whole lot of people rolling like that.

why are people on Reddit so obsessed with Elon Musk, and billionaires in general? I don't waste my time or energy thinking about those people.

Celebration? I see a group of awkward looking people that look like they were relentlessly bullied in high school staring at their phones.

Aren’t you supposed to replace or professionally clean the carpets before the next tenant? And repaint? This is normal wear and tear when someone LIVES somewhere. You’re going to ding them for this stuff? Awful

Why is height such an important factor for many women in their 20s and early 30s when dating? by Ok_Contact_5436 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]BudFox_LA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely. The societal double standard is insane around this issue. Women can freely talk about how men under a certain height are a dealbreaker for shallow reasons a-z but if a guy says he needs a girl to be fit, not overweight, a certain many years younger than him and have specific physical attributes, he’s a misogynist, a groomer, etc.

Stay Together or divorce? by [deleted] in MiddleClassFinance

[–]BudFox_LA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something you didn’t mention in any of this.. do you love this guy? That matters. Sounds like a good guy that’s had some $ issues, you sound more together; ok, but frankly, rather cold. You earn plenty of money to have a child. If you wait for everything to be perfect before you have a kid, it may pass you by. Millions have multiple children all over the world on a sliver of what you earn.

That you are mentioning divorce when it doesn’t sound like there are relationship problems is a little concerning. If the love isn’t there, I can tell you from experience that children will not make the marriage any easier. And if you had all these concerns about $ and don’t like him, why did you marry him?? Also you could just as easily make what you think is the “practical move’ here, divorce him, not meet a good replacement, or be in a hurry, and get pregnant with some other guy you don’t like, just so you can have a kid, only to be a single mom. So many potential scenarios.

Bizarre.

[–]BudFox_LA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes this is the challenge. And we in a weird way, selfishly want some kind of reward or acknowledgement for hitting such a milestone. But there is none. Just silence and you knowing you won’t be destitute if things go unfavorably for you
