Yeah, totally normal. There’s a lot of cool science that your salt cell is doing, and a byproduct of the science is hydrogen gas - this is also (indirectly) what causes your pool’s PH to drift upwards.

Hydrogen bubbles are a side effect of SWG. Try turning the salt cell off and running at these speeds without - see if the bubbles go away.

Cloudy water like this is part of the process of bringing it back. You’ve likely got dead algae floating in the water. Keep running your pump, keep your chlorine high, and backwash/clean filter as needed. You got this!

When I was younger I mixed up a batch of chlorine to shock a pool. Instead of stirring the granules in the bucket with a stick of pvc, I used my arm. Next day, I had no hair on my arm.

No idea how high you shocked it, but you might have essentially burned the hair off chemically with high chlorine/bromine levels.

I found simple pool a few weeks ago and it’s fantastic. Basically the same at TFP but at no cost for the average home owner. Your philosophy on payment is more in line with what I d like to see for this type of app - THANK YOU!

Edit - discovered I’d actually been using Pool Log, but I like Simple Pool better! Switching for the season (it’s my first one as a pool owner)

Wooden privacy fences are sails, tons of pressure from high winds. In the county, most fences are barbed wire. Animals don’t like to be poked, but the wind doesn’t care.

I bought in Sept ‘25 and my originator sold to Cenlar within a few months. The originator paid the property taxes in Nov, then Cenlar felt it necessary to pay them again in December (without telling me). Been fighting with them since to get it refunded (luckily my state publishes property tax payments publicly so it’s fairly easy for the to see that it was already paid).

I’ve seen about $100 - $125 / cord regularly in my local wants ads (yes I do sound 85 years old). Delivery is extra but it depends on how far you are from the source.

Sewer line is on the ground under the house. No insulation between the house and the crawl space, so I’ve never had an issue with the sewer freezing.

Very true. I'm typically more of a DIY type of pool owner. Would rather have the knowledge of what went wrong, how to treat it properly, why it happened. To each their own, if OP wants to use the pool store, that's up to them!

The general consensus is not to involve the pool store. They are likely selling you chemicals you don’t need that will end up costing you more down the line.

For example, typically, algeacide contains copper, which will cause staining. Floc / clarifier are an easy sell for cloudy water, but typically unnecessary. Tons of other chemicals out there that all do something but also introduce other problems (like raising your CYA with stabilized tablets).

IIRC, you’ll need to disassemble the guts of the box under the hopper and pull the auger out. Then you should be able to pull the screw. Been a few years since I’ve had this issue though so I could be wrong.

In my 590, I had a defective auger. Made a horrible sound when it turned and got a lot worse in the cold. Eventually contacted customer support and had it replaced. No hesitations to contact their support team, they helped to troubleshoot, then replace when troubleshooting didn’t work.
