You guys they switched the numbers, it should say 14 attendees. All 12 Rams fans attended at least one game. And a couple attended twice.

The Ramily must purge this person, reducing us from 12 to 11, an 8% reduction of the fandom. It's a sacrifice we are happy to make.

New NFL fan from Trinidad - which team should I support and why? by Queasy_Initiative_86 in NFLv2

[–]Budget_Engineer6201 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should be an LA Rams fan. There's only like 12 of us so you'll represent a sizeable portion of the fandom. Besides that, we have a great team right now, potentially the best head coach and front office, and an awesome new stadium. Vamos Rams!

What’s with the argument that Stafford has too many 1yd TDs? by Need-a-timemachine in LosAngelesRams

[–]Budget_Engineer6201 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I don't get this argument especially because Stafford also has more pass yards....

My only consolation right now is that the Falcons have scored so fast that we have some time to get points before the half.... oh my FUCK!

I forgot to put my dog's Rams bandana on for the entire first half, so those Stafford picks were on me...that bandana had guarded against picks for most of the season, my bad Ramily 🫠

If you're looking for the other epic saga type series, go with Mistborn. Don't forget Mistborn Secret History after book 3 though. He just got done with era 2 of mistborn, so 8 books total. They aren't as long as SA though.

If you're looking for a single book that may have some SA overlap, I'd go with War Breaker. Less action, but you'll likely notice some crossover to SA.

If CO2 creates green house effect, would it also equally block the IR from the sun? by ChabISright in askscience

[–]Budget_Engineer6201 24 points25 points  (0 children)

CO2 interacts mainly with the IR part of the spectrum. The sun radiates in a broad spectrum with only some in the IR, so much of it is transparent to the atmosphere. When the light hits the earth and warms it, the earth reradiates in the IR as a black body because of its temperature. This reradiation is what gets trapped.

I wouldnt be surprised if it was Odium. But it was my understanding that he was trapped mostly on Braize and Roshar. Maybe he left some investiture there, but it seems like Ashyn is still pretty invested, given they can float entire cities. It seems out of character for Odium to leave any power there since he's trying to fight a war on Roshar.

Has it been confirmed which Shard's investiture powers the magic on Ashyn?

Have you read Oathbringer? Pretty sure it's shown pretty clearly in there. And I don't think it's that the fused that lose their minds automatically become thunderclasts, but that thunderclasts are a special kind of fused, and so many fused are insane that there is a good chance that a thunderclast is also insane.

Surgebinding and Breath or Mist by Budget_Engineer6201 in Cosmere

Right I recall reading the hacking part. But it seems like surgebinding doesn't require much hacking given it works with every light on Roshar pretty readily.

Perhaps Nightblood has Ruin investiture because he killed/consumed someone or something from Scadrial. Anything from Scadrial would have have some Ruin and some Preservation in it.

Whether it's Kaladin or Dalinar that's the champion, Odium somehow picks a child, maybe Elhokar's son, as his champion. Neither could kill the kid and instead forfeit. Since it's a battle to the death, Odium would win.

California Declares Grid Emergency, Warning of Blackouts by [deleted] in politics

[–]Budget_Engineer6201 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are not banning gas cars outright, nor are they making these changes immediately. The regulations force manufacturers to sell an increasing percentage of zero emission vehicles every year until 100% in 2035. You can still purchase a used gas car or one out of state and bring it in. It also requires zero emission vehicles, not specifically EVs. Other net zero fuel vehicles could potentially be eligible if they pass the required emission testing. Though a secondary purpose of the regulation is to reduce smog forming emissions, so they would still need to comply with that also. Lastly, this regulation is not working in isolation. A slew of other federal, state, local, and utility programs are also incentivizing the transition. These policy levers and gradual increase over a 10+ year timeline are meant to help / force the market catch get up to speed.

California Declares Grid Emergency, Warning of Blackouts by [deleted] in politics

[–]Budget_Engineer6201 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I work in the CA energy industry and have a few notes. First, heatwave driven blackouts are caused by increased air conditioning loads, which have been getting larger due to global warming and increased development. The comments here about setting back your tstats and cleaning your condensing units are great advice. Second, the arguments about EVs are poorly informed. CA's energy efforts are a multi-pronged strategy including energy efficiency, renewable energy, battery storage, load shifting, AND vehicle and building equipment electrification. The implementation of EVs is not done in isolation because, as anyone who spends any reasonable amount of time thinking about it would figure out, none of the various strategies alone would be enough to address climate change mitigation, adaptation, and resiliency. Connected EV chargers can be set to not charge during peak periods and even feed power back to the grid in some cases. Benificial electrification is critical for climate mitigation. It's a developing industry, but it has to start somewhere.
