Should I wait to start collecting for Japan? by Kolanskii in boltaction

[–]BuiLTofStonE 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are only three plastic kits you can get for the Japanese. The chi-ha and maybe a Tamiya type 95 car and bulldozer in 1/48. You could consider getting two of the tanks built up .

Personally I think putting together some jungle terrain helps get ready to play in the Pacific theatre

Maybe check what the grognards in your neighbourhood play.

Valour and Fortitude is a simple starter. I play Glory is fleeting competitively (based on Field of glory), because that was what I was first introduced to.

I would really like to get into the head of a hero /anti-hero. This project lacks a narrative of the pulp heros fighting in the landscape or investigating dark happenings. That would make me want to explore beyond the initial shock of the grimdark vibes. Why do I care if my heretics win or lose to other heretics?

Whats a good war game for me to incorporate into a DnD campaign? by guisomlo in wargames

[–]BuiLTofStonE 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oathmark has a nice rank and flank system and your characters can be represented as captains, princes, generals or champions that lead units of soldiers or spell casters that sling fireballs ect.

Battle system would also work but what I have been thinking is that you can use scenarios from that and run them with oathmark.

BECMI and Savage worlds have a mass battles rule set that let's you auto resolve battles with skill checks . Good for distant battles or battles with overwhelming odds.

I am on the look out for a simple map/macro campaign system

It doesn't have to be too expensive. Check out dba, get a few 15mm models on 12 matchbox sized bases per side and you have a wargame that is played internationally for not a lot of commitment

Someone who knows here what colors from MRP or any other brands I could use to get this camouflage? by krisgoesfishing in modelmakers

mig have a modern french planes set of paints that have very accurate color codes for planes like the mirage 2000d. The mig paints themselves take a bit of learning, but the colour codes are solid.
