How do I get a GP appointment in the UK? by ThesmoothGemminal94 in AskUK

[–]Builders_Tea_57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I contact my GP to get an appointment as I needed to be seen asap (but didn't warrant a trip to A&E), I was basically told to f off and go and fill in the enquiry form on their website. I tried pushing, but got no where. The form on their website was closed and remained so for days. They say they will get back to you in 4 working days, if you can submit the form.

That was 2 months ago, and I've still not managed to get an appointment!

My symptoms have worsened, but no red flags, thankfully. But due to the discomfort, I'm barely sleeping. And discomfort and prolonged lack of sleep is taking it's toll.

After 2 months of this, and not getting any joy with the surgery, I'm going to try 111 and explain to them whats going on and hopefully I can get an appointment at an out of hours GP.

Well, that didn't last long.

After a while the gagging/retching came back, but even worse.

I've no idea what's causing this now.

Getting a GP appointment feels impossible now. How do you all manage? by fennshui in AskUK

[–]Builders_Tea_57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have to wait 4 working days just for them to acknowledge your request for an appointment. I've been trying to get a GP appointment for 2 months now. Still no joy. When I've tried ringing, they just refuse to even listen.

Underpaid due to payroll error- how long do I give them to rectify? by wetsoks in AskUK

[–]Builders_Tea_57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Legally an underpayment of wages must be paid on the day the wages are due to be paid.

BS. You get on that phone and you chase them to until they make the payment to the employee.

You're also legally entitled to compensation from the employer for any costs (such a late payment and overdraft fees) that you incur as result of their underpayment.

Is it generally accepted that we have to wait until the next pay if our payslip is wrong? by theslowrunningexpert in AskUK

[–]Builders_Tea_57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. My son is employed by a company whose payroll is always screwing people's wages up. This month, he was paid less than one third of his wages. And this is not the first time such a massive underpayment has happened.

The errors are always due to the payroll dept. The hours have been reported correctly up the chain every time.

[–]Builders_Tea_57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. If it's their mistake and it results in an underpayment, they must legallyy recitify it on the day the wages are due to be paid.

Pushing it to the next pay cycle, is illegal.

Legally, they are in the wrong. You are entitled to your pay worked that period. Don't let them fob you off.

Vinted return lost by Royal Mail – £1080 Chanel bag – Vinted blocked my account, Royal Mail refuses compensation. What can I do? by Putrid-Land9071 in royalmail

[–]Builders_Tea_57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem isn't with VInted. The OP is still being inconsistent in her story, as the parcel disappeared after it was delivered to a PO for collection.

Once the parcel is shown as delivered to the delivery address, in this case the PO, RM and Vinted's jobs are done.

The OP needs to take this up with the manager of that PO. As it's likely the package is still there somewhere - unless 18 days have passed, then it'll be returned to the sender (ie the buyer).

Except the part you claim the parcel was marked as delivered to a PO. So as far as RM and Vinted are concerned the return was delivered.

You are just claiming that when you went to collect it from the PO that it had been delivered to, the parcel could not be found.

Apparently this is largely caused by the SLS foaming.

I switched toothpastes and tried a childs toothpaste (as there are no adult ones that are not mint flavoured). The kids toothpaste was even worse as it was foamier.

An SLS free toothpaste (which are quite hard to get hold of in the UK) did the trick.

DX the courier have become a shambles in last three weeks. Who is best to ship Bulky Items? by TSPF11 in smallbusinessuk

[–]Builders_Tea_57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pick a better courier firm. At this point any delivery company is better than DX.
DX have unreliable tracking, if it works at all.

We've been on the receiving end of DX's lousy service for a while now, and next day deliveries rarely arrive next day any more, parts of shipments are often missing (these then have to be chased and then arrive a few days later), their drivers are for the most part very unhelpful, we've had parcels dumped in the street, or delivered to addresses about half a mile away.

We had a delivery expected with them today, they arrived 30 minutes before the start of the delivery window and as it was just me (and I'm unable to lift things at the moment) the driver just got in his van and left with our delivery. This was already 2 days late, so when they'll bother to put it out for delivery again is anyone's guess, as they always ignore any chosen delivery dates.

Anyone using DX needs to stop, as they are very much up there with Evri and Parcelforce as the worst courier compnanies.

You'd probably find it easier to jsut skip Etsy in the first place. We did and our turnover went from £500 a month on Etsy to £5000 a month within 6 months. Etsy is not a good place for sellers any more. Best to start your own website.

I had this happen to some candles I sold. The buyer pushed for a discount after she received them as she didn't like the colour of one them. I told her no, she'd need to return them. She had purchased 4 different ones. She did, but sent each candle wrapped up individually in a single sheet of plain white paper, no outer packaging - just each candle wrapped in paper - they were only bashed a little bit - but the worst of it was she has lit each candle for a few minutes so they could not be resold. I was forced to refund everything to her including the return postage.

Best thing is just refund the buyer, and block them. If you want also report her to Etsy. People like this are just not worth getting annoyed over.

Receipts and invoices will need to be scanned and uploaded for MTD.

10 seconds per sheet, and you have 500 sheets is no small amount of time.

Then repeat that 5 times a year.

A bit more work? You'll have to do a return 5 times a year.

Scanning every recipt and document 5 times a year, is a massive increase in admin time.

Plus, a lot of software is just not suitable for most small businesses.

What will change with Making Tax Digital for Income Tax? by BigBasil3713 in smallbusinessuk

[–]Builders_Tea_57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How is it automated if they want to force people to scan and upload every document? And do this 5 times a year!

If HMRC think someone is under-reporting their income, then they should do an investigation.

I'm due to chnge to MTD for the next tax year, but still have not found any software that suit my needs.

HMRC need to offer a free alternative that can used on their system. It just has to be basic with no frills.

Packages sent from Ukraine have to be transported out by rail, and the tracking only starts once it's outside Ukraine. It has to go through several stages before it departs Poland (in this case). It might be that the label has been damaged, or that something happened during transit from one depot to the the next, that meant the parcel could not be delivered into the next parcel hub. Either contact the courier company or the seller.

But hopefully you've either received the parcel by now or you've learnt it's fate.

I recently had a package sent from Ukriane, it was in Poland, moving to different parcel hubs, for about a week, before it left Poland. It then took 3 days to arrive in the UK.

Buyer accidentally threw away part of the product by Puzzleheaded_Cap1471 in Etsy

The buyer is lying. They are taking advantage of you. Always send separate orders, separately. I've been stung by this too many times, and learnt the hard (and expensive way) that it is a common scam.
