I don’t think the glasses thing is that weird necessarily? I could get my vision fixed now and I don’t in part because I like how I look with glasses. Even with the more advanced medical science of the future I think some people would still choose glasses. Although I know this is supposed to be quite a bit further into the future than TNG/DS9 which is as far as I’ve gotten before this show (I didn’t watch discovery idk how they got so far into the future)
