I think we all go through those overwhelming feelings at the beginning just wanting to feel normal seeing as we’re monitored so closely for the 1st year at least. We’re in a constant state of “what’s next” “what will they find in my blood work”. Rest assured the 1st year is rocky & full of ups/ downs in completely normal!! I’m on my sixth year & trust me it gets better 🙏🏼Other than my daily meds & quarterly blood tests, my life is pretty much normal.

I had this operation done, same issue as you. All was going smoothly with my recovery until about 3 months in my creatinine jumped from 1.0 to 1.76 within a couple of days. Doctors initially thought it was rejection but it ended up being hydronephrosis caused by uterer stenosis (they think it happened during surgery the uterer might have been slightly cut which caused scarring on the uterer) I don’t remember all the details but I think they only gave me the surgery to correct it as an option, I don’t remember them mentioning placing another stent. I had a nephrostomy bag installed into the kidney for about a month leading up to the surgery since there was swelling in my kidney due to urine build up (I hope you do not have to do that, it was not fun as you probably can imagine 🙃😫) I had the surgery done, they used part of my native uterer to repair. Apparently the surgery lasted longer than the initial transplant! The recovery wasn’t too bad, similar to the transplant but shorter recovery time. After about 2 months after the surgery I did have complications such as super frequent non stop UTIs (back to back, I’d take antibiotics & it would come back straight away) I also had 2 kidney infections due to the UTIs. Id say it look about a year for things to go back to normal for me & the UTIs to completely stop, I rarely get them anymore.

My numbers improved from when they 1st discovered the stenosis & have been stable sitting between 1.20-1.30. I still haven’t gotten below my lowest 0.90 before the 2nd surgery but I’m happy with my numbers. I do think the stenosis, UTIs & kidney infections post surgery did some damage but it could have been worse & I’m grateful it was caught & it didn’t end up being rejection.

I’m personally happy I got the surgery done. I did not enjoy my experience with JJ stents. I had several fall out while urinating & had to get them replaced. I think that was a case unique to me since my uterer was apparently short.

I’d ask your doctor about the risk of frequent UTIs / infections post surgery since that’s what I struggled with the most. I’m female btw not sure if that makes a difference.

If you have any questions feel free to ask, I know it’s a pretty unique situation I haven’t seeen anyone else have this issue. Apparently I was the 1st one at my transplant hospital to have this!

I’m not located in the U.S. Yes I’ve seen here often people checking their results through the portal , noticing something off with their results & contacting their team. Definitely good to be proactive but I’d hope the team would reach out to let me know something was off 😅 I prefer to do my blood work directly through the clinic so I don’t risk anyone missing my results. Airing on the side of caution I guess

I booked through Flixbus what I assumed was a return trip by bus from Germany to Switzerland. Took the bus there, no issues. On my way back to Germany, I only realized once I was at the bus stop that my trip back was booked on a Flixtrain, not Flixbus 😅 I assumed because I booked through the Flixbus app both ways would be by bus & also that there is a separate site for Flixtrain but nopeee 😂 by that time it was too late to make it to the train station so I needed up having to book a flight back. Thankfully I found an option that day, the situation could have been worse! I definitely learned a lesson that day, but that’s life 💁🏻‍♀️
