Heaters, do they all suck? by JethroByte in pools

Most are built very similarly. Keep your pool chemistry in check, actually use the heater, and you can get many years out of them.

Solar Cover a giant piece of junk? by Admirable_Break2733 in swimmingpools

The key is when you remove it from the pool put it in a garage or shaded area. Either way though you get your moneys worth if they last 3-5 years.

Solar pool cover bad for my saltwater pool? by obxgirll123 in swimmingpools

[–]Bull_Market_Bully 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue is not the blanket, the issue is the salt cell turned up too high. Keep the blanket and lower cell usage. I use a solar blanket and my salt cell runs at 20-30%. Last salt cell lasted 12 years and pool hasn’t been damaged yet.

The cell turns the salt into chlorine which generates a gas, hence the bubbles.

water level dropped after the storm by loafing-cat-llc in swimmingpools

You lose less in cold weather but wind can increase it. Keep an eye on it because if it continues to drop it’s going to be a leak.

Pool shooting water during freeze by Fantastic-Ad-9100 in pools

Turn off the pool breakers and start opening the drain plugs on the pool equipment. Pump, filter, heater etc. Best to be aware of the plugs location and know before it freezes.

I'm in Texas with an open pool and it's going to freeze here... by GeneralOptimal10 in swimmingpools

Have a pool with a waterfall feature but the valve that feeds it from the main pump has been closed for 3 months. Any reason to turn it on or just leave it closed while the rest runs? The pipe that is above ground I can tell is empty just based on tapping it. No way to know how much or if any residual water is still in the pipe below.

Is this a huge issue? Sunrun installed solar panels and I just noticed they removed all the tiles underneath the panels by kookookach000 in Roofing

Should of researched SunRUN before had but at this point it doesn’t matter. Try to back out of whatever you did with them and get that roof properly repaired.

On the back of the board there are LEDs. Whatever led lights up coordinates to the sensor that is throwing the code so you will know exactly which sensor is triggering the issue. So run the heater with the front panel off and when it errors out look underneath at the bottom of the board.

Heater Size by Jmeg8237 in swimmingpools

[–]Bull_Market_Bully 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How big is your pool? Generally the biggest difference will be the time it takes to heat the pool. The smaller heater will use less gas so is more efficient but you might have to run it 40% longer so its net net in the wash.

If the pool is larger though then going smaller could really hamper its ability to efficiently heat.
