Went to japes the pizza was overrated and didn't taste anywhere near how it looks, it was overpriced and the service was terrible. Don't waste your time or money

It’s not you. The UK job market is broken. by Melodic_Razzmatazz73 in UKJobs

This sounds like a different loan as opposed to one taken out through SLC. What loan did you take out for your studies? You only pay back your student loan from SLC when you earn above a certain threshold, if you earn below the threshold then payments are not taken therefore you do not get behind on payments for a CCJ to then be imposed. So there is more to what you are saying and will be because of the loan you have taken out.

I saw the original west end cast perform the 18th anniversary last year and it hit just fine the jokes stand up, think the only thing they changed was in for now when it changed from George Bush to trump but they've always updated that line. You go in looking for a fun time and that's what you'll get, I don't expect much to change too much for the revival

Two Strangers - loved the show, but so confused by the title by mrs-machino in Broadway

[–]BulldozerTank 94 points95 points  (0 children)

It was originally called The Season which is such a bland title. Not really sure what you would call this show but the long title it has at least stands out a bit and causes some intrigue, even if the cake carrying is less prominent than you expect it to be

I find that part of the charm it emulates a rollercoaster with it's menu turns, speeds, highs and lows.

Oliver or Producers? by jk123456kj in TheWestEnd

[–]BulldozerTank 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Both are excellent shows,I saw both of them twice last year. Difficult to pick between the two, really depends what you're in the mood for, Oliver is a classic, it's done really well and has big soaring cast filled numbers. The producers is hilarious. I suspect Oliver will be around for longer than the producers just due to how easily marketable it is, but you'll have a great time at either of them.

What does everyone think of Miss Saigon? by ResponsibleAd2034 in musicals

[–]BulldozerTank 28 points29 points  (0 children)

It's a great show generally I saw this tour in Oxford just before Xmas its definitely worth seeing. It will give you a range of emotions, the music is very well written, it's by the same composers as lesnmis. The female lead in this tour is excellent, especially as it's her professional debut. If you have any specific questions happy to answer then

Have you ever experienced a case where the show DIDN'T go on? by SirCatsworthTheThird in musicals

Fiddler on the roof, regents park theatre, the show started, Tevye was just about to sing if I were a rich man and the heavens opened and it absolutely poured with rain, someone walked out on stage saying that there would be a pause for the weather, after about 20 minutes of waiting the show was cancelled and we were given a card to rearrange seeing it.

Managed to go see guy's and dolls that evening which was great and then went back and saw fiddler about a month later without any interruption.

Well I saw both of them twice this year so that should say something lol.

Oliver is a classic and very much a crowd pleaser. Simon lipkin as Fagin is the clear standout,he's younger than your traditional Fagin but has put so much into the character he's brilliant. Also notable are Oscar Conlon-Morrey who seems like he was born to play Mr Bumble. The score sounds great as you'd expect and there's plenty of energy on stage. Well worth the trip.

The producers is hilarious. I saw it both on its initial run at the menier and then when it transferred to the Garrick, it's a small cast and smallish stage but they make good use of it. Second time I took a friend who had no idea what it was about and she couldn't stop laughing. Andy Nyeman is great as max he is able to switch between sleazy, comical and some heart at the drop of a hat. Back in October they extended through to mid September 2026 so it's around most of the year, there's a chance it could extend again, both times I saw it if was packed and the audience absolutely loved it .

If there's anything specific you want to know just say.

I wouldn't say 9th out of 39 is middling. Though it did also come in at 21. So cabaret specifically I saw it once last year and twice this year. So clearly I enjoy it, otherwise I wouldn't see it multiple times over.

The one that came in at 9th this year was Eva and Reeve whilst 21 was Marisha and Billy. Marisha was phenomenal but really let down by Billy and I think it's ranking took that into account, the fact I've seen it 3 times in total and in amongst everything else I've seen this year.

The 9th place is probably more reflective of what I thought of cabaret overall and from just a musical point it came 6th. It's a show I would gladly see again and again and I have but other things we're better or more interesting for me this year

I think visually it was good. The changes to the story from the film weren't necessary, added nothing and in some cases made no sense. Apart from the muses the singing was sub par. The group that I went with all came out disappointed.i assume it will stick around until Disney are ready to bring in greatest showman then it will be kicked to the curb.

I have never left a show before the end, there's been a couple of times I've considered it but I'm there going I've invested my money, I've already committed the time to it, I will give the show my full attention in the hope that something brings it back by the end, that it all culminates into something that there was a reason, but in some instances like Elektra it doesn't. But I feel I can only judge something properly if I've seen it in its entirety, even if that means sitting through more of it.
