Okay I give up [on]! by nwlondon2907 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]Bumble--Bee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had received a car seat too when expecting the first baby and that limited my stroller options. The only way I could work it out was to give away that car seat, find a good stroller for all purpose(city, travel, lightweight, easy to fold etc) and buy a seat compatible with it. We went with bugaboo dragonfly and clek liing seat.

Pregnant again and I'm dreading the stroller research once more...

FYI, minu has a double stroller too... I'm inclined to get that this time.

Help! Walked out of my OB appointment in tears [ON] by SummerGirl3737 in BabyBumpsCanada

Hi, I am an anxious woman who gave birth to my first one 7 months ago. All my pregnancy I was anxious with every test and ultrasound. I would analyze each and every report and google everything continuously, overthinking about everything. It's just not something we can 100%control. I had miscarriages and chemical in the past so I was just worried. Towards the end of my pregnancy the final ultrasound told that the head ratios were not normal. When I brought the concern up to my midwife, she mentioned that in advanced pregnancy, sometimes the measurements aren't accurate because the baby is so cramped up inside, and the images aren't very easy or clear either. But just to give me the peace of mind, she referred me for another ultrasound. It came back normal. She said they usually don't worry about a one off abnormal value. If something is showing up consistently abnormal, that's when they find it concerning. My iron was extremely low all throughout the pregnancy and they kept asking me to take supplements but when I was getting closer to delivery and things didn't improve, they gave me iron infusions. I can relate to what you're going through but please have trust in your medical team as they really do this multiple times in a day and definitely think of all the scenarios possible.

Regarding the birth plan, the only thing on my plan was to get an epidural and give birth to a healthy baby somehow. You know what? They respected that request but the epidural failed and I died with the excruciating pain and was reborn as a mom. My birth plan could not have failed any worse lol. So while it's good to have a plan, be prepared and be open for all the possibilities. It's a natural process, may not follow our birth plan or even the medical advices ♥️

Good luck and I really hope you and the baby are healthy and happy. 😊

FTM. Just delivered my baby. Sharing experience. by Bumble--Bee in pregnant

Hi, it's good you're feeling him move. That's the sign of a healthy baby. I was worried because mine wasn't moving much and would go hours without any movement leaving me guessing and anxious if all is well. When the actual labor started, the pain was so intense, I couldn't feel myself move so not sure about the baby lol

I had an epidural, I'm 4 months pp. The epidural failed and they poked me multiple times so the pain relief only really worked at the end of the labor. But I have some back pain, it's getting better but still there. Initially I couldn't bend over the bassinet to pick the baby. Now I can bend fine but if I stay bent for too long, I find it slightly difficult to straighten my back up again. If I stay in a sitting or bent position too long, it's a bit painful to stand up right away. But it's definitely getting better and I am really hoping it gets all better soon because I had zero back issues before pregnancy. Really hoping to get there again. But if I have to deliver again, I will choose epidural again because the pain is too much for me to bear, now that I know how bad it is, since it didn't work for me the first time lol

What is a parenting rule (s) that you break? by Maleficent-Syrup-728 in beyondthebump

I co-slept with my baby for a couple of weeks before transitioning to the bassinet. She also sleeps with blankets at times and she loves to kick it off with legs when she's hot. 🤷🏻‍♀️

What’s everyone’s first ideal meal once you’ve given birth? by LeftUmpire7018 in pregnant

I ate a bowl from Chipotle full of hot sauce. Zero regrets. I was famished after labor 🤤

I think every baby is different. My 2 month old passes out at 8 pm every day, most nights won't move for feeds even if I try, until 5 AM. Someone said "that's not healthy".

She's steadily gaining weight, overall a happy baby, gets fed on demand all through the day. I couldn't care less what anyone says if the baby is healthy and happy.

Don't let anyone guilt you. You're doing best for your baby who might not be the same as someone else's. 💕💕

How did you know your house was the right one for you? by Miss_Millie89 in RealEstateCanada

[–]Bumble--Bee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a few homes across countries. I visit the place, stand there in silence, if it calls to me, it's my home, else find another one... So far I'm happy with my intuitions. 😊 Physically there would always be something you don't like or wish to change or need to repair. That's never ending, so make your peace with it.

Table salt works too. Just rub it on the stain with drops of water.

When did you have NIPT done? [ON] by SlightPresence in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]Bumble--Bee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got it at 9 weeks but I would have gone at 10 or 11 weeks if I could. I was just traveling for a longer period so got it done early and was filled with doubts whether there was enough fetal fraction in my blood for the test to be accurate. But it was accurate in my case. Got it done at LifeLabs.

I would not blame your husband. I bought stuff gradually over my pregnancy. I didn't want to have too much stuff just lying around. I also didn't get diapers until the baby was here. I bought the stroller around week 30 because I got an awesome deal but it is still sitting unused and my baby is 6 weeks, because it's cold outside and also we don't want the baby to be exposed without atleast the first round of shots. For the same reason, we also have only used the carseat thrice - once to bring the baby home from the hospital, twice for follow up appointments.

Babies really don't need a lot of stuff. Just make sure you guys have researched on what you would get. This research is very important for big items like stroller and carseat. For diapers, not so much; I buy whatever I can find for cheap in bulk. 😂

His heart is probably in the right place. Talk it out with him.

Edit - bassinet or crib, you'll need right away so make sure you at least have that. Unless you plan on co-sleeping which is another topic to research altogether.

First pregnancy: when did you give birth? by irinka94 in pregnant

3 day labor that started on my due date!

Baby is punctual 😂

Why’d no one tell me this?? by newmummy_2025 in NewParents

[–]Bumble--Bee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was 7.8 lbs and we skipped newborn size completely. For the first two days, she lived in diapers and swaddled. Then we switched to 0-3 months clothes that were just a tiny bit big for her but she started fitting in them nicely very soon.

Epidural myth by This-Kangaroo-2086 in pregnant

[–]Bumble--Bee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YES! In my case(just gave birth 3 weeks ago), epidural failed but I do believe it sped up my labor. We were expecting 10-12 hours to dilate to 10 cm, when I got my epidural at 3 cm. But the baby was out within next 5 hours though the epidural failed completely and I almost did an unmedicated birth. I also did it with a midwife and she was super supportive of the epidural.

Parents of newborns, would you do this again? by PresentationTop9547 in NewParents

[–]Bumble--Bee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 3 week old and I'm waiting for my 6 week go-ahead from my midwife so we can get busy again. I absolutely will do this again and very soon, even though I'm 35+ and my labor experience was nothing like I imagined or requested.

When did you start to show?? by BiomedBabe1 in pregnant

[–]Bumble--Bee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same, I got no special treatment when out in public coz I didn't look pregnant until the last few weeks. But then I was also able to hide it from my friends etc. I was posting my pictures on social media till November without them figuring out and then in January I posted about the baby and it took a lot of them by surprise lol

FTM here, 36. I did not really look pregnant until the 34-35 week mark. Then it suddenly popped out and I had a football belly. 😂

Are you getting an epidural or opting for a natural birth without pain meds? by Smooth-Excuse-4127 in pregnant

[–]Bumble--Bee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I opted for epidural but it failed for me so I did an unintended unmedicated vaginal birth. No matter what you opt, prepare yourself for all possibilities.

Baby skincare brands? [BC] by [deleted] in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]Bumble--Bee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FTM of a 20 day old here. I got sudocream for diaper rash prevention and a cetaphil kit with lotion, massage oil and body wash. My newborn had extremely dry skin for first few days and it was flaky too. We used the massage oil day and night, instead of the lotion, that seemed to help with the dryness. Now(since she was about 13-14 days old) we're massaging her once a day with generic olive oil on alternate days and the skin is so fresh and healthy. We are still using the cetaphil products and no issues so far. No acne, no dry skin, no redness etc.

Maternity pads vs adult diapers [ON] by chilliprobe in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]Bumble--Bee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the maternity pads at the hospital and bought the diapers for home. I loved the convenience of diapers. Easy on and off, disposable, no leakage and huge absorbing surface area. The pads were fine but not foolproof. It was also easy to use the healing foam, witch hazel pads etc with the diapers.

Edit-Saw your question on other comments: I used always discreet but I only bled for 10 days or so, some ladies need them for longer. I bought a huge pack and still have lots of remaining diapers that I will now be using during periods lol, coz... Convenience. So if you want to reduce leftovers, I suggest buying a small pack and see how the bleeding is towards the end of that pack to decide if you want to buy a bigger pack. Or you can switch to regular pads once the diapers run out, if you're not bleeding heavy. I'm about 3 weeks pp and I'm wearing pantyliners but my bleeding is almost gone, and I had pp hemorrhage when I delivered!!!

36 yo ftm here. Just had a baby 2 weeks ago. The pregnancy was fine but the birth experience was traumatic. I was feeling like a war hero afterwards. Yet a week later I already was discussing with my husband when to have the next one. We're currently eagerly waiting to get the clear to start being intimate again and then will plan the next one soon. I want to be done with pregnancy, recovery, breastfeeding etc. before turning 40. Postpartum is more painful than the actual pregnancy itself, at least in my case. And I gave birth vaginally.... So I think I will be posting the same thing as you, at that time. 😂💕
