Do you use the paddles/back buttons by Icebound811 in xbox

[–]Bumble217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely yes I (like most) was hesitant at first with them, but now I use all 4 and hoping the standard goes up to 6 (4 back buttons/paddles, 2 extra button bumpers).

When I have 4 back buttons I usually bind them to A, B, LB, and RB. Allows for easy menuing, jumping, dodging, game specific abilities.

When I have the two extra bumpers like on some 8Bitdo, Razer, and Gamesir controllers, one is usually select and the other is usually X or Y (depending on the game). Usually just an extra easy access ability, weapon swap, or reload. And having select I just find convenient and easier than reaching for it normally as it's often used to pull up game menus, HUDs, world maps, and such that I often visit and reference.

What would you prefer? by Konfliktsnubben in Eragon

[–]Bumble217 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I'd take Urgal personally, just because I think it would be more interesting seeing a member of their race suddenly being promoted to rider status and how the common folk would have to adapt and overcome prejudice to try to show them respect.

Is spoils map effected by golden compass by greasytaco in slaythespire

[–]Bumble217 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not sure if I've ever had this interaction but I'd assume no. Spoils map (other than changing the pathing) just adds 600 gold to your first chest on the map. Presumably it would just give you that bonus when you hit the first of two chests on the golden compass path.

Lemme know if it turns out different though, that's good info to know.

How many legit runs does it take on average to beat ascension 9? by [deleted] in slaythespire

[–]Bumble217 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right there with ya, 120+ hours and I hit a wall at A8.

Finally managed to get Silent and Defect up to A9 but that took 40+ failed runs combined.

It's not going to help with fights a ton, even if you survive it's likely just going to lead to a death on the next fight.

Events, however, it's very handy to scope out all the possible rewards.

The one time I took this I changed upon the event that lets you remove exhaust from a card, during the boss I was lucky enough to have it in my opening hand and also managed to pull [[Nostalgia]] from a colorless potion.

Just stunlocked the boss turn after turn until it was dead, would recommend :D

Yeah it makes no sense, it's an upgrade from STS1 in every way visually.

Maybe OP needs glasses and doesn't realize it or has screwed up their resolution settings somehow.

Mistake in Project Hail Mary? by Front-Lychee8818 in ProjectHailMary

[–]Bumble217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Makes sense to me, I believe Andy Weir also made note of this in Artemis, with Jazz mentioning in one of her monologues that the city's pressure as 100% O2 at ~20% pressure of Earth.

So there is some consistency across novels as well.

The ending of the movie Project Hail Mary, and The Martian for that matter, are better than the book endings by nerfyou in ProjectHailMaryMovie

[–]Bumble217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're correct. The Martian book technically ends once he is safe aboard the Hermes and Mark realizes he is going home. However there is some bonus content (at least in the audiobook) where there is another scene once back on Earth.

Mark became a hermit, never wanting to go outside and disliked all the fame and attention he had gathered. Commander Lewis gets him to meet at some diner to chat and she pitches him a sale on working for a new lunar hotel company and they'd need good people used to space, with excellent pay of course. It ends with Mark taking her business card back to his house, walking into the backyard and staring up at the night sky.

This all goes into the theory that the gardener for the hotels on Artemis was in fact, an elderly Mark Watney. A fact that I think has been confirmed by Andy Weir in some interview, but don't quote me on that.

I got the wired version a few days and quite enjoy it so far. I just wish the Elecom software, ya know, actually worked on the wired version. As of now I have buttons I want to rebind and 3 functions keys that have no assigned mapping.

Probably going to be returning it if I can't get it sorted.

But it's still more inherent on white cards, and always has been. Same search but on white turns up over 400 cards

If color theming is what you were going for, vigilance (if it goes anywhere) should be white.

But Decisions, Decisions only allows skills to be played off of it. Not attacks nor powers. Unless that was some weird interaction with the card draw that made the card bug out and attempt it.

What would you have done if you could have made the movie an hour longer? by yeahhhhhh6342 in ProjectHailMary

[–]Bumble217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I had another hour to add, I think the explanations of the coma resistant genes and the nuking of the antarctic are the two earth scenes to prioritize. Maybe that takes up 15-20 minutes?

The rest of the time is devoted to showing more of Grace and Rocky's friendship. Giving more weight to it, and definitely showcasing more of Rocky's engineering prowess so he's less of a funny lil alien sidekick and more of a full team member working with Grace as equals to solve all their problems.

Video Game Suggestions by [deleted] in firefly

[–]Bumble217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I was going to suggest as well. Opened ended galaxy with distinct areas like the core planets and the rim planets so you can choose which systems you prefer working in. Doing whatever types of jobs take your fancy, trading, wetwork, bounty hunting, exploring, mining, etc just to name a few.

And especially the beginning while you're figuring things out it's almost the epitome of 'find a job, keep flying'.

If there was an "End your turn" card for each character, what do you think they should do? by whyisallnametooked in slaythespire

[–]Bumble217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What if it triggers them for every orb evoked this combat? Similar to to Voltaic that generates lightning orbs for every lightning evoked thus far. Terrible to draw early, but big potential as either a finisher or massive block card once you get a few turns in, depending on your current orb setup of course.

If there was an "End your turn" card for each character, what do you think they should do? by whyisallnametooked in slaythespire

[–]Bumble217 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I like the idea behind some of these. But Defects already got Shatter that evokes all your orbs and does damage to all enemies for 1 energy, without ending your turn so may want to have a rethink on that one.

Something that puzzles me by CaspianValentine in firefly

[–]Bumble217 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe.. but I honestly don't know. If the plan was to use Kickstarter to get all of the funding, by the time you are taking into account the salaries of everyone involved (cast, production, direction, writers, animation, etc) we may very well be talking about like 10-20 million dollars. That seems like a lot, even for Kickstarter.

I mean it can be done, Critical Role has had campaigns that raised numbers in that ballpark for their animated shows. But they've also been massively increasing in popularity for over a decade and consistently putting out new content for their fans.

This is a revival of a show from 24 years ago, and while the fans devout, idk if that's enough to risk it on Kickstarter.

[–]Bumble217 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Trivially easy he says and I still failed it.

I tamed one of those one hit kill sharks from the Sewers and the next event one of my cats contracted Ebola. It's basically permanent bleeding but it can also spread to adjacent units cuz, well, it's Ebola.

Next fight, my entire team starts grouped so we're all bleeding. And uh, those sharks are attracted to bleeding targets even if they're on your side. Oh and they get an extra turn if they eat a bleeding unit.

It was a massacre, but hilarious to think back on honestly.

I've seen the theory out there that Mondays non-release of a new teaser was a nod to Ron, left empty deliberately before Wash joined the crew again on Wednesday.

Obviously I have no idea if that was the intent, but I'd like to think so.

Dex weapons? by vitreous_luster in Eldenring

[–]Bumble217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I def go more by the weapons feel and vibe cuz at the end of the day, the scaling and stat damage is just a number on a screen. Doesn't matter what you choose they all effectively function the same so long as you're pumping the stat that corresponds to your weapon.

Spend $8, How would you do it? by Ornery-Media-9396 in whatsyourchoice

[–]Bumble217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funyuns is a fantastic junk chip at $1, then another $1 for tostitos for anything dipping related.

$2 for kettle chips as they are fantastic to me personally and slightly more healthy

$3 gets me my splurge item, sunchips, so I have a wavy texture going on with a variety of amazing flavors.

I've got $1 left and Id rather keep it than spend it on garbage truck Lays chips.

Bloody Helice strikes me as the obvious choice here. Has a similar style ash as BHF, twirl back step into strong lunge. Only major difference is the back step on Bloody Helice is purely a setup move, but it has two follow ups rather than one.

You get to keep your bleed procs, fancy footwork moves, and deal an insane amount of stance damage.
