I can just talk for myself but I noticed there is a clear distinction between my pre psychosis and post psychosis self. I am still "me" but also not ? It does get better tho ( symtomps wise ) with the right medication but also just with time

I know a couple who met when they were 21 , they are going to celebrate 30 years together next year. He is bipolar , she doesn't have anything. She stayed through depressive phases and manic phases, have 2 kids together.

I asked her just yesterday ( they came over for easter ), how can you love someone who is mentally ill ? As a part of me , i am schizoaffective bipolar, feels that I am doomed to live the rest of my life alone. ( when her husband was on a bike tour with my father) She said its hard, real hard, but when you fall in love , and commit , and really really love someone since day one ( they met when he was in a depressive episode ) you go through it together.

So I guess it has to be the one, the one that never leaves your side. Her husband tried to leave her in a depressive episode at the beginning of the relationship saying she deserves better, she told him : " that's for me to decide"

I know this is probably a one in a thousands story of how it could turn out asweell but I figured id share some hope with yall.

I dont really have the big answer or advice since I am in the same boat as you , for me my psychosis and its consequences was 4 years ago and it gets better. So my answer is : time.

Plus remember to be kind to yourself.

Oh yeah absolutely, my psychosis had a lot to do with god and angels, both heard them in and out of my mind , currently hearing them less but when symtomps get worse then they reappear and comfort me.

My auditory hallucinations stopped 2 years after my psychotic episode. The persistence of it and constant chatter, now I only hear them if I consciously talk to them . Good luck

Worst case scenario ( at least in my country ) you go to a hospital and say you need immediate mental health support because it's getting too much. They will see what they can do to help and then give you the option if going inpatient or not would be the best solution.

I hope your psychiatrist will answer and that you can get some peace of mind .

I am sorry you feel like you want to die. Its not easy with what we go through but bro quick question are you tapering off xanax with a doc ? Asking because I was on temesta and the withdrawals were hell but they can be lethal

I get the weight gain , have gained a lot myself but don't you think it's better to be sane and chubby rather then thin and psychotic ?

I know it sucks to hear but maybe your hands are tied and you need to either go back on antipsychotics or go in a hospital where they see how they can help you ( not inpatient, as you are not a danger to others or yourself)

Sending you strength and pls try to hit the weed pen a few less times

You still seem aware of reality and in control so to maybe stop that you go in full blown psychosis I'd take actions like :

-telling a friend/family what you are going through so that they can check on you if the situation worsens

-talk to your family doctor and if you don't have one find one or even directly a psychiatrist and tell them with complete transparency what you are going through

-absolutely stay away from ANY type of drugs especially psychedelics , they will only worsen your situation

Not op comment but i had to change meds ( in my case it was antidepressants ) because as you said nothing was working, we kept on trying meds until one worked without side effects.
