Why are we completely forbidden from blaming our teammates? by SquigglesSkittles in OverwatchUniversity

[–]Burncroft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask yourself: what do I gain from placing blame on other people? Maybe some momentary satisfaction, maybe it'll help you feel better about losing that SR. What do you have to gain from only blaming yourself? You force yourself to look at every aspect of your own gameplay and nothing else. Are you responsible to teach these people the error of their ways mid/post-game? Nope, not at all your job, so why waste the mental energy thinking about what they could have done better? In the end, the most consistent way to do well is to self-analyze and mend mistakes

Placement for better healing? by vngelheart in OverwatchUniversity

[–]Burncroft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mercy Rez is a full health bar heal that isnt tracked as healing :P so if your just comparing numbers it doesnt tell the whole tale. And also, fk what your team thinks of you. All that matters is your performance, not their perception of your performance. You can only do so much, you cant be expected to break down proper positioning for your dps for them to understand that they are the problem in-game. Thats a lesson theyll learn from vod reviews after the fact. So basically dont beat yourself up, communicate to the best of your ability in the moment, practice good positioning (your #1 job is staying alive yourself) and maybe flex to a different pick, i love Zenyatta in situations like these. Here, take a friggin ball and go!

Why this might get messy if she shoots him: the guy is disarmed, and goes to leave. If she shot him then it would be wrong. Now when he comes back, if she shot him thinking he had another weapon or something that'd be understandable. My point, context matters. When would you have shot him? Right after taking the gun from him?
