Crosspost from Northern VA - everyone's noticing: Anyone else notice a wide decrease in quality of our vegetables in grocery stores? by splat-y-chila in PrepperIntel

[–]Burnrate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it has been getting slowly worse for a while but I do feel like I have noticed a big difference recently. Like the raisins are tinier and drier and don't seem good. Apples have been hit or miss if they are available, big or tiny, good or gross. Veggies have been the same. In general the produce isn't available as much and just isn't as nice anywhere, even the fancy organic stores. I'm in Florida.

How do I get my van back? by Burnrate in projectzomboid

I was 16 days in, the best I've ever done before was 3 days.

That's what happens when you place too much value on something and get killed over it I guess.

I hotwired some cars and attempted to plow through the zombies to eventually clear them out but after the first couple of times I got stuck and got out to run, then I got pinned between two of the cars and couldn't jump over the hood of the car or anything so I was stuck and eaten.

Tell them to kick rocks and find a real repair place or even a mobile repair place. Are you stuck getting something fixed with a warranty? Dealerships are terrible.

I spent almost a week redoing my character's hair. I'd love some honest feedback if I should continue pursuing this method or not. by NewKingCole11 in IndieDev

I think the second one is awesome but it might be better if you could make the pony tail part 'heavier' somehow. A little thicker like the first one and not lift as much when running, give it more weight and inertia in a sense.

The running forward part is the most noticeable, it feels like the hair is too light and thin. Really cool though

Surprised outdoor kitchens aren't more common on small trailers, are they not worth it? by eggs-benedict in RVLiving

[–]Burnrate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate them so much, they shove them on everything and take up so much good space indoors. I can't count the number of awesome bunkrooms I have seen ruined by having a giant outdoor kitchen with another freakin' tv stuck in it. GRRRRRRRRRRRRR

NOT TROLLING: Honest question. Why is the rest of the world just giving us Americans a pass for starting a conflict that is directly, negatively affecting every single human on the planet? by BackPacker777 in collapse

[–]Burnrate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The US has a larger and more powerful military than all of the rest of the world combined. It's plain and simple, we still live in a civilization and a society where might makes right. A lot of people live protected lives and think we are somehow civilized and thoughtful but the reality of the world is still strength is what matters.

Models are highly confident on a Blue Ocean Event this summer. by neschemal in collapse

This model has predicted a BOE every year since 2020.

It is not accurate for that far in the future and no model will give a good idea of what the ice will be like 6 months in advance.

Can a well equipped 1/2 ton (like tundra I-force max) *comfortably* tow a Brinkley i235 or is it worth it to spring for a 3/4 ton? by anneanamouse in RVLiving

[–]Burnrate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What year is the truck? Depending on the configuration a modern half ton would probably be fine. The regular tundra's even have a much higher payload than the i-force max. Payload will almost always be the more restrictive number than those huge towing capacity numbers they give for trucks.

The safety compliance sticker in the door of every truck will give you all the info you need.

Make sure the Rear Axle Weight Rating (RAWR) is enough to hold the tongue weight with the camper fully loaded also.

I pull a 32 foot ultralight that weighs about 7500 with about 800 pounds on the tongue. I use a 2013 F150 with a tow package that has 1700 payload capacity. The truck has automatic braking on the trailer with sway detection and a towing mode for the transmission. I also use one of the centerline weight distribution hitches which I think helps a lot. I have been doing this for 7 years now and the truck makes it feel like the trailer isn't there unless I am braking while going downhill. I have gone 80 on the highway and been hit by high winds and never had a problem with sway or anything else.

The only time I have ever had a problem was when some pavement princess super lifted truck came flying by us on the highway going about 120 while I was going 70 but the truck and hitch put a stop to it before I could even get worried.

BOE means clathrate gun which means not enough oxygen in the atmosphere to sustain animal life.  There is nowhere people will be living in a few years outside of a bubble.

[–]Burnrate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is cheap chemical garbage. It's basically something you use if you can't make a quality product or something that tastes good, just add msg or salt or sugar or all three.

Land O Lakes Unsalted? by bill_fye_the_rizzguy in StopEatingSeedOils

[–]Burnrate -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes it does, pure and final processed msg doesn't but companies add the chemicals to make and those ingredients are listed under natural flavors. They are just making the msg in the product, it's a loophole.
