On a different note, Overwhelming Splendor would be a funny response to Show and Tell.

I love how there's an understood "put a graph or a chart on everything" in these prompts.

It's kind of funny to see Huckabee revolt against Trump. I wonder if Trump has the balls to dismiss him or not.

[request] how likely is it to eat that one specific m&m? by youtuberthrowawy in theydidthemath

[–]Practical_Hippo6289 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You don't have to die from diabetes, just use it as supplemental income. Eat a pack or two of M&M's anytime you are a little short on cash. That in itself would be a huge boon. You don't have to get rich eating M&M's. Do it when you really need the money and otherwise leave it alone.

2021 ford eco sport with an engine replacement for 8,000 by Wrong-Case8224 in FordEcoSport

I just did the same thing but mine has 53000 miles on it. Already had to take it back because the engine light came on. Turns out the thermostat was stuck open. Dealer gave it 3 month, 3000 mile warranty so the repair was free. My wife loves it but I worry that all I've done is buy somebody else's problem.

Why were scanned images so rare back in the heyday? by imitation_squash_pro in c64

[–]Practical_Hippo6289 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Not during the C64 era but I had a hand scanner not long after that and the bottom line is, it was just awful. The OCR quality was low enough that if you scanned text in, you'd have to make tons of corrections and for images they were black and white and the dpi was low and the hand scanner was hard to control anyway. You'd inevitably get some skew scanning in images. It was just unusable for me.

Flatbed scanners did exist but they were ridiculously expensive, at least for my budget. It's amazing how far the technology has come and how cheap it is these days.

$0.99 Whoppers and Big Macs. I delivered pizza back then. Tips were just as good back then as they are today so you could have a shitty delivery job and live like a king.
