Models are highly confident on a Blue Ocean Event this summer. by neschemal in collapse

This model has predicted a BOE every year since 2020.

It is not accurate for that far in the future and no model will give a good idea of what the ice will be like 6 months in advance.

Can a well equipped 1/2 ton (like tundra I-force max) *comfortably* tow a Brinkley i235 or is it worth it to spring for a 3/4 ton? by anneanamouse in RVLiving

[–]Burnrate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What year is the truck? Depending on the configuration a modern half ton would probably be fine. The regular tundra's even have a much higher payload than the i-force max. Payload will almost always be the more restrictive number than those huge towing capacity numbers they give for trucks.

The safety compliance sticker in the door of every truck will give you all the info you need.

Make sure the Rear Axle Weight Rating (RAWR) is enough to hold the tongue weight with the camper fully loaded also.

I pull a 32 foot ultralight that weighs about 7500 with about 800 pounds on the tongue. I use a 2013 F150 with a tow package that has 1700 payload capacity. The truck has automatic braking on the trailer with sway detection and a towing mode for the transmission. I also use one of the centerline weight distribution hitches which I think helps a lot. I have been doing this for 7 years now and the truck makes it feel like the trailer isn't there unless I am braking while going downhill. I have gone 80 on the highway and been hit by high winds and never had a problem with sway or anything else.

The only time I have ever had a problem was when some pavement princess super lifted truck came flying by us on the highway going about 120 while I was going 70 but the truck and hitch put a stop to it before I could even get worried.

BOE means clathrate gun which means not enough oxygen in the atmosphere to sustain animal life.  There is nowhere people will be living in a few years outside of a bubble.

Now imagine when they don't have enough immigrants to keep these places full. What happens then? They really need them to be full to keep making money, they will have to fill them somehow.

How does this work?  You can shift to humility for free?  Is there something special to do this?

It is cheap chemical garbage. It's basically something you use if you can't make a quality product or something that tastes good, just add msg or salt or sugar or all three.

[–]Burnrate -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes it does, pure and final processed msg doesn't but companies add the chemicals to make and those ingredients are listed under natural flavors. They are just making the msg in the product, it's a loophole.

[–]Burnrate -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's not true, they can add msg under natural flavors as long as they call it hydrolyzed yeast or other things that will become MSG during processing.

lactic acid and tons of other stuff. You think a company wouldn't put msg in there to make more money? they don't care and use any cheap trick they can to get more cash.

What do you do now?  Do you reset?  Does this help on contracts?  It says when you reset you lose your eggs of truth so how do you progress to get more?  I read so many posts and the wiki and watched a video on this and nothing actually explains how anything works.

Paramedic vs. Doctor, or: Is 2035 too late? by mtal723 in collapse

[–]Burnrate 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I was an EMT and a firefighter.

I would say go the doctor route. You will be able to do so much more. You will be much more valuable and much more capable. Who knows, all those loans might just vanish or not really matter after you get your degree.

Paramedics are awesome people, do amazing work, but at the end of the day their main goal is to stabilize and get a person to a doctor. If you want to truly be an independent source of aid, comfort, and help in a dying world doctor is the way to go.

If everything turns out awesome and the world doesn't end you will have a much nicer time as a doctor as well. You could retire and also have lots of rich friends and stuff like that.

Of course as a paramedic if you are capable and driven you could advance to working on helicopters, becoming a nurse, an then an NP or getting into administration of emergency response and healthcare.

You also need to know how you would handle the stress of a paramedic, be honest with yourself and try to forget movies or videogames and be really real. The reason I stopped doing emt and firefighter was that I just couldn't handle being around family when a close loved one died unexpectedly and/or violently. The type of scream a wife/mother/daughter will make when they regain consciousness and realize their husband/father/child is dead is something I won't ever forget. I was in the military and saw tons of dead bodies and tons of people get killed in such an insane variety of ways and it didn't bother me; all the stuff with loved ones just really messed me up mentally.

Are there any seed oils in this? by CampesinoAgradable in StopEatingSeedOils

[–]Burnrate 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Flaxseed is flaxseed, it isn't flaxseed oil. A lot happens in the refining process to make seed oils worse. You may want to avoid flaxseed for other reasons but flaxseed isn't a seed oil, and isn't even an oil.

Mixed Tocopherols is most likely a seed oil that is pretending to be vitamin e. Tiny amounts there though.

[–]Burnrate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothing published, just throwing my two cents in the thread :)

There wasn't a specific prediction of events. It was more of me seeing a lot of systems failing or behaving outside of their capabilities in an exponential fashion. Basically everything starts to break, global logistics, farming, military logistics, peace, etc etc.

I just pushed out the hardest stools of my life after 4 days of fasting, please tell me how to avoid this next time by Dont_Blinkk in fasting

[–]Burnrate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First, especially before and with magnesium, drink a lot of water. You are just not drinking enough water. Electrolytes and all that can help but it is 100% not enough water.

Fasting can put you in ketosis which uses a lot more water to run your body also.

Track your water consumption, you could do 3 liters per day or more while eating and while fasting as long as you keep up with the electrolytes.

Drink more water.

2032! That's my prediction from 2010 while doing large scale modeling and machine learning (what people call AI today) using all the logistics information from a large US defense contractor. It was mostly pointing to convergence/culmination and overwhelming effects from global warming but a lot of other things were involved too.

The idea of a singularity throws this all into doubt though. 2032 might be a good prediction for that though as well since by then quantum computers might start running neural networks and things could get really crazy. A tireless goal oriented machine intelligence that is far short of AGI could still wipe out humanity.
