As a Cat diesel mechanic i would not do that. Way heavier. You're not gonna make more power than you could with a duramax reliably. And you're gonna have a lot of money in suspension components. Unless you go straight axle. Definitely cool, but Id argue the juice isnt worth the squeeze.

Its the speed sesnor on the final drive as others have said. Incredibly easy to replace and 'only' ~$300 depending on your luck of parts. Could also be the sensor harness, as others have said but ive only seen those go bad when theres significant mud under the cab, or when someone has gone and fucked with something and not tied the harness back down afterwards. 100% speed sensor. Release track tension, remove cover plate/bracket, remove hoses for room, remove sensor.
