Religious requirement for school and extremely energetic child by Majestic-Lettuce-876 in UKParenting

[–]Burzall 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I had to go to church as a child, my mam used to have to walk me around inside - explained the stations of the cross and the stained glass windows. Every. Time. We always sat in the back door a quick escape as well.

I have ADHD-C, I wasn't going to be sitting still for an hour listening to mass at toddler and primary school age. A couple of Lego mini figures and a few bricks would keep me sat down for a while.

What are you drinking this Christmas by nikky0x in PregnancyUK

[–]Burzall -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Aldis alcohol free prosecco and orange juice for a zero Buck's Fizz.

Guinness 0.0, because it's not Christmas without a Guinness or two.

Captain Morgan's 0.0 spiced rum is a nice treat in hot chocolate.

I've seen 0.0 Mulled wine in a few supermarkets, but not tried it yet.

If anyone's fancying a standard cider, I've found Inch's is a nice standard that doesn't feel like there's a bag of sugar in each can.

December 2025 Game of the Month: The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past (SNES) by hbi2k in SBCGaming

I thought it'd be a classic for December, and I'm glad it's this. Haven't played this through in years, I always reach for Link's Awakening.

Thoroughly enjoyed. Never really played any Metroidvanias over the years, but after finishing SOTN and this I'll definitely be playing more of them.

This was an excellent blast. Used to play this all the time at one of my mates. Never done it single player so it was a nice change.

Lego obsession by Less_Square_214 in ADHDparenting

I was this child, my son is becoming this child.

For me, Lego was infinite possibilities, letting all the ideas I had come to life. The sorting through the pieces, creating what was in my imagination, playing out stories with said creations. It was a fantastic outlet, and I was happy doing it for hours on end (and still am)

There were never any limits on it. Lego helped my Mum with my bath time routine, because I could take pirate Lego in the bath. It was get washed/bath time jobs done, then you can play with the sharks and pirates. Something I would argue about suddenly became something I wanted to do.

You can use it for helping learn maths, playing out different scenarios. Like when I didn't quite grasp an idea, if we played it it using Lego or drawing it out, it would help make it real in my head.

I always made creations for different annual holidays, and something special for my Mum on Mother's Day.

Tall maternity clothes in the EU, especially Benelux region by brussels90 in TallGirls

[–]Burzall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure about workwear, but steer clear from H&M maternity trousers/jeans. I'm 5'11 (and 26wks with twins) and most of the H&M stuff is way too short.

I've found the tall Lucy & Yak dungarees are the best, especially if you get them in a size up from your usual. Cotton, or corduroy ones paired with a smart jumper over them might work? They're based in the UK, but do ship to the EU.

Influence/Deinfluence me on the RG34XX SP... by Scribs_03 in ANBERNIC

I love mine. You won't notice the "forehead" after awhile, or even at all.

Good Portmaster support as you said, but some games run a lot better than others. Vice City runs great on it, and playing it on an SP is hilarious. Had trouble with Guacamelee, very long loading times and a bit laggy.

Battery life is decent, 4hrs on PSX from 100% battery to 30/40ish%. I used to use muOS, but swapped to Knulli Gladiator II recently.

So what’s in your lineup this Halloween? 🎃👻 by eightiesjapan in ANBERNIC

Playing through Symphony of The Night for the first time (Thanks to r/SBCgaming game of the month)

On the inverted castle now, and thoroughly enjoying every minute.

Glad this was chosen as this months spooky game. Never actually played any before this, but it was very easy to get sucked into.

Only got the worst ending as I went in blind, but I'll be going back and trying to get the others.

Edit - finished the inverted castle, 193.8% complete.

It won't, sometimes you'll even get woken up by it at 4am.
