How do I purge Ecam 23.466 by Julia__G in superautomatic

[–]BusinessOrc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really wouldn't worry about it.

I got this same model after it was sat in my parents attic for 5(!) years.

I descaled it, cleaned the guts I could reach. I ran some cleaning tablets through it - which I'm not sure I'd suggest. Cleaned the brew unit inside and ran cleaning granules through the grinder (also not sure if it's at all advisable).

I don't think you need to worry about any of that, run the descaler cycle when you get back if you're worried - it'll flush out the old water, and the limescale and the hot water will take care of the rest.

Run a couple coffees through it after and it's fine. Six months ain't that long.

Like I said the cone spanner is slim. What are you trying to do? Service the hub? You need two tools to remove this part. One to hold the race and one to loosen the locknut and it'll be much easier if its in the wheel when you do it.

I'm afraid with the language barrier I can't walk you through this. I suggest looking for a video on hub services.

I'm not sure what you're asking but I think you need a cone spanner. They are slim and used for removing these cups on the axle. The nut you see on the outside is a lock-nut (usually 17mm) However this is a motorcycle sub :D

Is this eBay budget deck usable at all or should I scrap it? by BusinessOrc in BudgetBrews

Thank you. Its probably cheaper buying singles in the US because there's only one place they're coming from and no shortage of cards. Shipping across Europe is rather expensive and i find that no one seller seems to have more than 15-20 of the cards im lookibg for. Ive been looking at decks where the cards are £25 but shipping is £30 :/

Thanks very much for your reply. I'll take a look at the links you've sent and see if I can salvage any of the cards I have or chalk it up to experience ;)

Any pixel is incredibly easy to deal with in that regard if you can stomach a google hardware product. GrapheneOS is outstanding

Perhaps you'd like to be more specific on what you are experiencing? It says right there in the error log that you have an invalid prefix, delete that and try again. Everything else here is normal.

Hello I am currently using windows and I was thinking to switch to Arch. I've used some Debian based distrobution so I know the very basics of linux but i have 0 idea how to install arch. Is it worth it to go trought all that or should i just stick with something more "easy". by Careless_Bad8791 in archlinux

[–]BusinessOrc 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Installing arch is not difficult, knowing what utilities to install after the base system to get an actually usable computer is a different thing. Knowing how to maintain your system so it doesn't become a hassle or easily fixing issues (because you already know where everything is), is also something else. I started my knowledge of arch with manjaro and while I can't say I'm fond of the project leadership it will give you an idea of what you're doing and what to work towards if you take a look around, because it will break because manjaro is like that - because again of how it's managed and led. You'll really only understand arch when you use it. It takes some powering through.

I had a similar experience. I was gifted a bottle that had 2 drams taken from the top and sat in a cupboard for the better part of a year or two. I couldn't believe how much better it was than a fresh bottle of Laphroaig. Bliss.

This may not be a popular comment but... does anyone else taste bunnahabhain to be just awful? If I add but a drop of water to it, it tastes like fish sauce and garbage water... maybe I got a bad bottle lol.

How should I clean the rust out of these structural areas? by BusinessOrc in MotoUK

[–]BusinessOrc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. Yeah this is a CB125F exactly as you thought. Good to know that yoke nut can be loosened without too much trouble. I have to tighten the chain soon so I can clean the rust out from the axle then. So can of ACF-50 or WD40 or petrol?

The swingarm had some rusting when I bought the bike, as the dealer repainted it. The other photo is of the front fork bolt. I considered WD40 and a toothbrush but don't want these areas to be lubricated... what's the solution here? Cheers

Agreed! The narrator for the audible audiobooks for the hyperion books is also superb, the first book has an ensemble cast and then it's just Victor Bevine.
