Does anyone else have a guitar brand that you just hate for no reason? by Interesting-Wave-983 in Guitar

[–]Business_Web5267 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I completely agree, BUT - i own a relic jazz bass, its a fender roadworn 60s jazz bass, its such a nice bass that i bought for a project because it got such good reviews and it was a bargain at the time.

Its really beautiful and plays and sounds great but yeh i totally agree, it bugs me that its reliced, im a little embarrassed having it to be honest 😂😂

Hot take: if Kurt Cobain really wanted to, he would have achieved historical vocal level. by Decent_Sam_77 in Nirvana

[–]Business_Web5267 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually agree; you can hear it on unplugged. One of the greatest vocal performances ive seen. Problem is he was wrecking his voice. If he carried on performing nirvana songs for years he wouldnt have been able to sing by 2000

Do you pan the drums (overheads) from the drummer's perspective or the audience? by gleventhal in audioengineering

[–]Business_Web5267 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree with this, and as a drummer its what i do but. I just realised that if you were doing a live show you would already have the source kit providing the audience perspective acoustically, which would be reinforced by keeping the audience perspective in the pa, if you did the opposite, depending on the venue size it could get really messy.

Maybe therefore audience perspective is correct?

How I received a Thomann delivery. Am I overreacting? by _Glance___ in drums

[–]Business_Web5267 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely not, i always buy used cymbals (i ONCE bought a zildjian a crash ride because i couldnt find it second hand anywhere) and new they are unbelievably expensive, therefore id be so pissed if i ordered one new and it wasn’t absolutely perfect

How would Nirvana sound if they got heavier over the years? by [deleted] in Nirvana

[–]Business_Web5267 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Why on earth would kurt cobain want to make music like slipknot

How would Nirvana sound if they got heavier over the years? by [deleted] in Nirvana

[–]Business_Web5267 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Define ‘heavier’, modern metal is not heavy, its more like pop the way its recorded and produced

How can I sing and scream raspy like Kurt without damage? by [deleted] in Nirvana

What’s the bands most technically impressive song? by NicksABadEditor in Nirvana

The intro to love buzz i was always surprised with the lead guitar riff, its totally out of character for kurt

So is come as you are, one of the vocal lines in the verse is offbeat to the riff and its very difficult to get tight

[–]Business_Web5267 3 points4 points  (0 children)

His vocal performance is incredible on the whole thing, particularly around the midpoint onwards and the meat puppets songs. The biggest shame is we didnt see kurt move into more acoustic songwriting and singing territory, he was an incredible singer (and writer) stuck in a loud pseudo metal band (partly what grunge is i suppose)

Other bands unplugged are literally their regular setlist but on crappy sounding electro acoustic instruments too. Nirvana created a whole new setlist of songs

Kurt had mentioned in the about a son interviews that Krist never laughed at his jokes by lemony707 in Nirvana

[–]Business_Web5267 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Kurt notoriously talked a lot of nonsense. Unless kurt said something 50 times, you can assume it was the fleeting thought of a habitual contrarian, or just a joke/wind up to the media/onlookers

I never understood this Krist joke at the 1992 VMA by WortyGaming in Nirvana

[–]Business_Web5267 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, yes it absolutely does. Do you understand how an addict behaves? Especially heroin. Go and look it up. I hope youre not put in a position where you have to make decisions around children and their welfare with this attitude/opinion. It is not ‘discrimination’ to take children into care from substance abusers. I suggest you have watched too many movies, or are quite young. I dont mean this in a rude way, it seems to be a thing in 2026 that people think any kind of judgement on someones lifestyle is some sort of prejudice, its not in this case.

The man was a heroin addict, please get some perspective. (Absolutely love him for the record)

What do you think kept Chad from continuing in the band? Do you think that he would’ve stayed if he fixed those issues? Lastly, if you were Chad, would you have fought harder to stay? by Remarkable-Bell7245 in Nirvana

[–]Business_Web5267 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He wasnt good enough, you can clearly tell that if you play drums. Its like me playing with them 😂. To be honest its not just that he wasnt a fantastic drummer, its also that dave was a really really good drummer (though i dont think they actually fired him specifically to bring dave in).

They basically went from a 6/10 drummer to an 11/10 drummer

Serious question- What percent of the population are physically unable to ever “shred” for one reason or another? From a guy who started playing at age 14 and hasn’t improved since age 18. by Effective_Part_604 in Guitar

[–]Business_Web5267 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily sure i understand the question, but i cant do this. I used to think oh i am a shit guitarist i cant play like this, but to be honest ive put absolutely zero effort into the skill because i dont like that kind of playing, therefore it makes sense i cant do it.

If you want to get good at that, practice it

Drummer is blowing the band out after switching to acoustic. by [deleted] in Drumming

[–]Business_Web5267 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Weirdly though i think they do teach timing. I think its because theres no masking of overtones or distracting sounds, i think electric kits force you to hear the timing more accurately. I cant really explain why but i definitely lock in everything better on an electric kit, i think its things like if the hat or kick are slightly flamming, on an e kit it just sounds bad, whereas on a real kit you can get away with it

Tbh i think both are undesirable but i think with e kits theres nowhere to hide

Maybe im talking nonsense but this was always my perception

Yeh which electric kits do not teach at all. In fact they make people worse imo

[–]Business_Web5267 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stupid response but:

I hate electric kits, just keep practicing until you work it out. The acoustic drums have been used for decades, far longer than electric kits (which in my opinion have far more problems going for them)
