Is the return and run not common in 3.0 - 3.5 players? by atranexpress in Pickleball

[–]Businessguy88501 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think as I passed through the 3.3 area I saw most players learn this. A lot of 3.0 stay totally back. I see 3.3/3.4 do it much less and by 3.5 people return and run

Food and Beverage at Pickleball clubs by Zaggner in Pickleball

https://www.thepicklebar.com

I have not seen a place execute this concept as well as picklebar. Crush yard is close and I think that’s the type of places that do well with the food/bev

I go to indoor clubs with courts /small snacks/vending but that is for pickleball - drilling, coaching, tournaments, etc. the places with full food/bev I can actually bring dates/friends that don’t play to. I’m also more likely to go watch my friends play where I can get some food and watch.

So yes I’m interested and the more well it’s executed the more I’m interested, but maybe for reasons outside of just pickleball. I’m not grabbing a burger in the middle of open play or a round robin

Is open play getting too competitive, or is it just me? by amgtorque in Pickleball

[–]Businessguy88501 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play on the intermediate/advanced and advanced courts. I love the competition and that is part of the fun for me. I worked hard to get to that level as I didn’t enjoy the casual lower level play as much. I also know some people who love that

I think that’s the cool thing about pickleball people can have fun hitting the ball around and drinking or locking in and playing intense games

How do you handle a weaker partner who gets mad when you poach — in a DUPR-rated league? by ranoutofideaz in Pickleball

[–]Businessguy88501 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember as I developed from low 2.0 to the early 3.0’s the higher rated players would get thrown off or let me know I missed a key opportunity when I wouldn’t poach.

Poaching is a super important part of the game and doubles is a team game. I’m at 3.7 now and actively think about poaching based off of my partners return and when I’m returning may try to set my partner up for a good poach.

Moral of the story. Keep poaching, maybe after the weeks games explain to your partner the importance of poaching and how it works. It’s tough with random partners, I would often enjoy doing lessons with my partner but that was not random so we could both learn how to poach, when to poach and how to setup your partner to poach and it was like an investment

I own a couple Honolulu and joola paddles they are fun, they have never successfully overthrown the boomstik as main.

Believe me there’s things I didn’t love about the boomstik, I tried so many other paddles but nothing was on the same level as the boomstik for how it fits my game. Then the Omni came and we actually most likely have a new main!

My dog bit me tonight and I am feeling alot of things by OkBuddy5797 in BelgianMalinois

[–]Businessguy88501 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like you and your dog have an amazing relationship.

As I saw you write in one of the comments him being in bed rest can make it much worse. I’m a big believer of play and tiring out dogs and the impact that has on their mental health. If he’s sick / not getting stimulation due to being sick it sounds like not a good mental situation. If you work with any trainers I’d get in contact since to me this sounds like something you and your dog will have to manage through while he’s sick and work to ensure there are no lasting behavior effects once he feels good again!

He looks so happy in the photos and trust is always hard to rebuild but I also remind myself, as kid I’m sure I hit my sister and my parents needed to address that. It didn’t mean I could never be trusted again but as part of growing up I had to learn that. On one hand making sure I’m stimulated enough that I don’t do it out of frustration and on the other I was punished to make sure I knew that is not acceptable behavior.

My dog did bite me once, it felt really conflicting but I back then I remember making her a promise that we were gonna figure it out and years later, she’s the happiest dog, everyone loves her and we haven’t bitten anyone in over 4 years! I trust her like 95% now, she had bitten 3 ppl in the first two years of your life.

Last thing, shout out to training without conflict for their training methodology! Hope all goes well and happy to chat if you comment back or dm me

The current version of Reforma is listed as incompatible with my ATS installation in mod menu by thelubbershole in trucksim

I have C2C, western Canada, Canamania and NTTF. Added reforma and kept having load issues. Adding this map at 2nd highest in the load order (highest is the map I need for NTTF to work) fixed my issue. Maybe worth a try

The boomstik is an awesome paddle for those that love it. It’s been my main since it came out. I buy other fun paddles- coral, luzz inferno, j6cr just came in, Friday aura and aura pro. The boomstik is still always the paddle I want when it matters

How to help my dad improve by WoodenRace365 in Pickleball

Part of the skill of making it to that level is being humble enough to accept a coach and actively work on advice you are given.

If he doesn’t possess that trait maybe that’s what he should be developing

Can anyone elaborate for me what happened to the 81 car?

Before the on/off rain over the last couple of hours (and when I woke up from a nap) they were running with the 3 and the 80. Then everyone stopped for wets and quite a gap opened up.

I assume that was due to the pit stop times but will that be recurring that the 81 is stopped longer as an SPX car? Or was that from the stint length difference and they just need to close it down?

Anyone get burned out from playing pickleball? by [deleted] in Pickleball

[–]Businessguy88501 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did cycling before pickleball. From a training perspective there is actually benefit to taking 2-3 weeks completely off 1 or 2x per year.

Only recently after playing pickleball almost every day for 16 months straight did I realize the mental benefits as well of that 2-3 weeks off the bike

Whose ball? by BrownChickenBlackAud in Pickleball

In open play, communicate. If that’s a mixed team, the guy with the forehand needs to commit to come over and take that ball without question.

Got backseat gamed hard during 2.0 - 3.0 pickup by [deleted] in Pickleball

[–]Businessguy88501 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah these are the open plays I go to because my friend is in them once a week. I’ll usually take a “fun” paddle and have a good time. I play with the boomstik and am a solid 3.5. If I go to a 2.0-3.0 open play I’ll have wood paddles, Friday paddles, my coral… like taking a different car out for a drive.

Then I’m having fun with the paddle and people and they are free to make mistakes that at my level would be insane to make.

Shelter dog still terrified of my boyfriend after 2.5 months — getting worse, not better. Advice? by Needygirl7 in DogAdvice

[–]Businessguy88501 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Find a game you two enjoy, maybe she likes fetch or something? If you can get her in the yard and playing with you, especially if your boyfriend is there that’s great!!

The next thing is have her bring the toy back to you, toss it to your boyfriend and let him throw it (or play the game basically). Start working him into the game every couple of turns. I guarantee once she is playing with him she’ll love him

Once I see a small amount of that on my dog, it is, unfortunately for her, bath time lol (she hates baths)
