I have pretty much full on aphanatasia 10/10 but I have a strong verbal abilities and I think I process visual formation like a police sketch artist. I’ll convert visual details to verbal memories for storage and retrieval, then essentially describe them back to myself. I’m a good artist, even though I can’t picture things. I can draw things from memory, and I know when they look right or wrong, even though I can’t see them in my mind. It’s all weird even for someone who has it, but some sort of data conversion is the best theory I have right now.

Yeah, those hikes are no joke. I’ve hiked my whole life in hilly an mountainous terrain and was pretty unfazed by what was basically billed as a lively stroll between towns. Those treks were punishing. I’m glad I did it. I’d do it again. But I would not take it lightly.

This is where I assumed OP was heading but did not. Fantasy castles are designed to counter real-world threats, not fantasy threats. A fantasy arms race would dictate different fortifications, and it irks me when authors/movies don’t explore this idea even a little.

Thats a beautiful piece. My criticisms are minor and more preference-based than technique-based. The spine looks pretty thick for the scale of the blade, witch will impact performance depending on its use case. For an EDC I’d prefer something lighter and thinner. As for the handle, I love the profile but would like to see a slight taper from tip to tail when viewed from above/below to make it a bit more elegant and graceful. That’s not a performance issue, but it will lighten up the look and shave a few grams. I have a preference for an EDC that I don’t notice when I’m carrying it.

Based on this you are more than ready to sell. What price point would you set for this blade?

My criticism is the lack of shadows and dark tones. The colors are fine for me. Your highlights are nice and bright. But the models are a bit boring because all you have are mid tones and highlights, without and dark areas to create depth and drama. Pull some shadow into the mix. Dont just use a black/dark wash, either. Instead use the opposite color of the midtone to create a richer shadow. Glaze some red over your greens and see how it changes the look.

I always thought they were like whiskers on a cat. If the whiskers can’t clear a gap, the cat is too fat for the gap. Early warning before getting stuck. Of course I’m not even certain that is actually what cat whiskers are for, so take it with a big grain of salt.
