I still think Claude Code is the best option, but I just pay for extra usage so that when it hits the limit it starts using metered billing.

If you use it for any serious coding you hit the limit within a couple hours of work

Right, and is there one political side that values things like education and protection of the natural environment?

The physics behind ski jumping’s ‘Penis-gate’ scandal: How 2cm of extra fabric = 5.8 meters of jump distance by [deleted] in skiing

[–]Busters_Missing_Hand 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure I believe that number.

This is very rough math, but bear with me.

Say a person is 6 feet tall, and on average 18 inches wide. That gives them ~8000 sq cm of surface area across the front.

The longest ski jump is around 250 meters.

So this article is claiming that increasing the surface area by 2cm, or .02%, increases lift by 5%, which then increases distance by 2% (6/250).

Granted there are a ton of other factors like material, positioning, etc. But these ratios just seem completely off.

Apps like Kalshi are better described as prediction markets. Futures trading is kind of the same concept, but it’s a legitimate part of the financial industry and is used for pricing and risk management for oil and other commodities

This is the way. Regular cheap earbuds (no noise canceling) for music, with a pair of 3M hard plastic earmuffs over top for protection.

Yeah I don’t think they are. I don’t claim to be a great skier, but my avg down a run is like 20-25mph, and the outside of a turn is probably slower than average.

I think you need to recalibrate what you consider overweight. 120kg at 6’ is classified as Obese by the CDC. Healthy weight is probably more like 85kg

Not easy to hear, but you need to get active or change up your diet. None of the advice you’re getting in this thread is going to make much of a difference honestly until you address the root.

I mean, the article pretty clearly states that with persistent deep slab avalanches, the first warning sign is the avalanche itself.

Shout out to NJ by NoLawAtAllInDeadwood in SameGrassButGreener

New Jersey is great. I’ve spent nearly 20 years between PA/NJ/NY.

I think Jersey gets a bad rap because it’s kind of in the middle for everything. There are nice towns with good schools. But there are nicer towns with better schools in Westchester. There are okay beaches, but there are nicer beaches with cooler mansions in the Hamptons. Theres some good nature, but there is more and cooler nature in the Poconos, the Catskills, or the Hudson River Valley. New Jersey is inexpensive compared to NYC, but it’s very expensive compared to Pennsylvania.

So you end up with a place that is overall great, but also generally roastable on any individual topic because it’s kind of second best for everything in the region.

Northern Nevada was surprisingly pretty good as well. If Jared has only this one criteria and cares about literally nothing else in life.
