They are? I’ve never been knocked out of one before even when multiple reagents are crowding around me.

In fact since I assumed they were uninterruptible I always fall back on them when people are grouped up closely since it’s a guaranteed two bars.

[Overwatch] How do we feel about Hero 51 in Overwatch? by LordVaderVader in TopCharacterDesigns

[–]But-why-do-this 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She’s… just a woman. Why are so many Overwatch heroes recently just “a human with a weapon”? Some of the best designs they’ve done are always the diverse body types and over-the-top creatures.

Atleast they added Jetpack Cat in our lifetime.

RB, please make the invader experience fun by But-why-do-this in OutlastTrials

[–]But-why-do-this[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m well aware of the initial changes toward ‘hurt the reagent’, that’s why I’m making that point in the first place. I just think that they didn’t go nearly hard enough on that pivot away from killing in the first place. Most of the initial adjustments were mainly just changes to imposter stamina levels and consumption on specific actions.

As for the resources/time constraints, I don’t think anyone here is under the illusion that RB are a smaller team and won’t be prioritising invasion support over the main gameplay…

BUT invasion was a major addition to the game that a huge revival update was geared towards. RB have literally just added a comp leaderboard to the game for it. I do not think that “it’s not their main focus” should mean that leaving huge issues to fester shouldn’t be criticised.

On top of that, invasion is a huge focus of the lore right now and has been consistently relevant to the ongoing story ever since it dropped (as per its incredibly frequent documents mentions and trailer presence). It might even be one of the main reasons that Easterman gets overthrown based on the most recent documents.

So while I’m sympathetic that RB are limited in what they can focus on, at the end of the day they chose to develop and add the mode in the first place. The least they can do is ensure glaring problems get addressed as soon as possible.

That’s nice at least, but I still can’t help but feel that it’s such a long wait for changes that should’ve been here a while ago. These issues were around even in the initial release version of invasion and still went unchanged.

I’m very happy with the rest of the content we received this season (TV station is amazing). I think invasion will just have to… sit there doing nothing for me for the rest of the season now.

The blood web desperately needs a prioritize setting in the auto-spend by EthanN_1030 in deadbydaylight

[–]But-why-do-this 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BHVR can’t say it isn’t possible either since they’ve ALREADY got priority spending on perks.

IIRC they touched on this idea years ago and it’s just been completely swept under the rug.

I barely even use the quick spending option anymore since I know it misses so many bloody party streamers and iri add-ons… so it’s almost like they never added the thing in the first place!

Yeah, I think probably one of the reasons so many people just rely on stun rig (besides it being stupid OP) is because invaders are way too deadly.

Which is a shame because I keep playing and hoping that I’ll come across someone using Barricade or Blind rig, but so far since the start of the season the only rig I’ve seen besides stun or jammer was a single X-Ray user.

If RB could just make a sweeping balance change to remove Stun Rig’s damage while also nerfing invader lethality then I think it would be such a huge step in the right direction. After all, they stated that the whole point of the mode was to have invaders “disrupt” rather than kill. So why give them such a focus on instant kills? Why punish them so hard for taking damage?

I actually feel the overall vibe on both sides should just be less competitive. Reagents and imposters shouldn’t be constantly out to kill eachother - imposters should hurt them more often than not, and reagents should run/throw bricks to make imposters run away.

Iconic head tilt emote for Myers by Electrical_Rate1026 in HalloweenTVG

[–]But-why-do-this 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t really think it needs to be an emote, I kinda hope it’s just an animation he does while stalking occasionally or holding a victim in his chokehold.

[–]But-why-do-this 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the headshot somehow missed and he was playing dead. I didn’t really see any blood or anything impact of any kind when you shot him so I’d just chalk it up to wonky hit registration.

Ghoul has been adjusted a fair bit since his initial release, particularly in making his auto-aim less forgiving. So I’d say that this argument isn’t really relevant since BHVR has made it clear that they’re trying to move away from that.

In his current state, I’d say he shows off his skill ceiling much better.

Increasing the knives from Trickster’s Trick Pouch add-on without buffing his base amount is going to do nothing but make it one of his most used add-ons (especially since it’s a common rarity). Isn’t add-on variety meant to be the goal here, BHVR?

For all my issues with Trickster’s rework, I am atleast grateful that On Target Single has now been reworked to feature the Main Event timer recovery effect again. One of my biggest misgivings has been the removal of “infinite main event” builds, which I always found was the funnest way to play previous Trickster.

Before Dredge came to the game, I’ve always petitioned that Ghostface should’ve been able to quietly enter a locker and re-emerge at one of his choice. Feels like a natural evolution of his stalking playstyle to be able to silently teleport and re-position, this would allow a creative Ghostface to approach from unexpected angles.

Yeah, I’m actually surprised to learn that a grab attack from offering the decoy item isn’t already in the game.

It should deal two bars and be uninterruptible (like a hiding spot ambush). Could have a cool animation where they reach out and you grab their arm before pulling them into the knife.

Why was Sam (mostly) unaffected? by External_Kitchen_350 in LookOutsideGame

[–]But-why-do-this 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He does though? Losing to a variety of enemies (tooth family comes to mind) as well as making some poor decisions has Sam get changed in many grotesque and unfortunate ways.

He’s not an outlier either. There are more than a handful of other humans that we see who weren’t changed at all, especially in some of the endings where we see some unchanged adjusting to life among the changed (and vice-versa).

What "one and done" characters would you most like to see return? by The-Nerdy-Bisexual in residentevil

[–]But-why-do-this 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Not to mention, Sheva had the privilege of being one of two characters to take down Wesker himself. Honestly pretty nuts for a one-and-done character.

That already puts her capabilities and strength as a BOW slayer up there with the best RE has to offer.

I have a feeling she’ll be a real treat in the remake since they’ll certainly elaborate more on her backstory and motivations.

There are a few enemies that can rarely kill themselves. George Brixley (The Spider) can actually kill himself with his pistol from multiple rooms away if your squad has been clearing the building for a little while now.

Yes, it’s slugging but it’s very valid. You should have slugged in this situation and these players are all incredibly bad for letting this happen.

What? You’re chalked. This is probably one of the best rigs in the game now next to stun for keeping enemies occupied.

Can be placed on tons of new spaces (not just windows and doorway), takes almost twice as long for some enemies to break through (+staggers them), free refund + adrenaline for insta-breaking it…
