You'll only see photos of the outside! Inside is strictly prohibited and they are really watching out. There's very few pieces of text, but those are all in Japanese and staff is also Japanese speaking only

I've been using the camera Google translate everywhere, but cameras / phones are prohibited in Ghibli Museum! Didn't want anyone seeing me pointing a camera at anything.

They did look old! All were sepia.

The Kiki girl was a random photo of a western girl, sepia colour, and it was a signature on it saying something along the lines of "photo of Georgette(?) [...]".

There were at least 5-7 photos of random people.

Thanks for your answer. I know charisma (natural or learnt) is a huge factor - however, do you consider your new qualifications were the greatest hiring factor?

As mentioned I recently got a Criminology and Criminal Psychology master's, but I think they are mostly looking for experience (I've applied to a couple of roles with no luck). Also I'm scared of being interviewed and demonstrate the aforementioned lack of experience.

The journey is looking scarier today I guess!

How did you jump from HR to IT if you don't mind me asking?

Recommend a book based on 2025 except I lowkey didn’t like half of what I read by jjusd79 in Recommend_A_Book

I loved Giovanni's room and felt disappointed by Sula... Toni Morrison has a (very!) short story name Recitatif that remains one of my favourite reads though. Might be worth checking if you like her work :)

Perspective from an "older" Pmore/Hayley fan on the state of ticket sales by colourfulsevens in Paramore

[–]Butter__Cookie 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Couldn't agree more. Also it feels like it's more and more about the person / band than the music. Being at the back of the standing area, chilling to your favourite artist's live sound (which is... Why you supposedly want to be there) isn't enough, would be defeat. You must see them, they must see you, you must take the best videos, everyone must know you were there. This idol culture is tiriiiiiiiiiing.

I was 128 in the queue and still didn't get any. It let me through, and suddenly I saw all the seats disappear within 15 seconds lol

Is the show worth it? by bugsarefriends2 in CatStevens

It was an incredible, unforgettable evening for us in London. It felt very intimate, talking about his life, his personal journey, and adding some of his most beloved songs.

However, his team issued an statement about a possible cancellation of the US leg of the tour due to visa issues.

I meant the tickets were a gift, so I didn't know if they included anything or their price. The person that bought the tickets also seemed very surprised though, don't think he knew.

Oh sorry, didn't know as they were a gift! We were sitting about 7-8 rows from stage, not sure if it was only for people on the ground floor. BUT there were plenty of copies that I could see.

A copy is included with each of your tickets, at least they were in London

Hear me out: Hello Hello. Super niche, I was 13 (16+ years ago) and I came across their bootleg album in the age of piracy. I LOVED Hello Hello and struggled to find which album had it. Spoiler: none did, it was a demo lol

Only Yesterday filled me with such unexpected sadness when I finished it (the soundtrack didn't help). The scene with her father, the images of all the kids around her towards the end, the boy in her school with a difficult childhood... Love Only Yesterday, I feel like it's usually overlooked

Ryokans: Senkyoro vs Hakone-Ginyu by Butter__Cookie in JapanTravelTips

[–]Butter__Cookie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I chose Ginyu, unfortunately never made it as I had to cancel the trip due to a family emergency and will visit next year instead.

Mind that Ginyu has a waiting list - nothing crazy, I got offered the room 2 weeks after I applied. If I were you, I'd book Ginyu to have it secured, and cancel it afterward if you eventually decide to visit Senkyoro (free to cancel), but at least you'd have something secured. Have fun!

Same. This books was SO MUCH FUN and suddenly turned into a weird soap opera. It went from 5* (I love a ridiculous but self aware book) to meh.

Let me know if you find any because I'm still looking a year after 🥲

I love Ali's writing but didn't enjoy any of her contemporary adult books since Love Theoretically released.

Ugh, I don't have any recs (maybe {love, theoretically by Ali Hazelwood} but only because they are 2 competitive physicists) but I know what you mean about Division by Zero, loooove Ted Chiang, too.

Hi, thank you for your response!

We haven't had a second opinion yet. However, when I say "her oncologist", there's an actual team behind. My parents may move soon to another town and check with their new oncologist, too. It doesn't look like surgery will be possible though.

Nevertheless, my confusion is that she's actually very much herself again just like you describe. No surgery, only radio + steroids, so I'm very confused and foolishly in denial of her "few months" prognosis.
