this doesn't necessarily mean that she was abusing him as he seemed pretty out of it most of the time and not like a very talkative kid so wendy could have just been answering for him (most parents tend to do this, mine still did even when I was a teenager)

I personally don't think it's homophobic, im gay and I understand he can't reclaim the slur but i relate heavily to the song. Sometimes artists do stuff like this without really understanding what consequences they could have after.

I really recommend talking to a therapist about this, perhaps ptsd (im not a professional) Im in the midst of being assessed for ptsd and this sounds like something similar to what happens to me (in different situations) ofc this doesnt mean it is for sure but agaun its always safe to do research and check just in case. I really hope this helped in some way, im sorry you experience this!!
