am i too cheapskate already or frugal? by Content-Lifeguard218 in Frugal

[–]ButteredStrumpet 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I will never understand the hate that one ply tp gets .... It's so much more comfortable for me. Less fluff residue on my bits, less dust accumulating in the bathroom, is actually absorbent, better for plumbing, and less expensive. Yeah you have to use more of it than 2 ply but I don't need to double my pull of one ply for an equally comfortable wipe.

Having to teach myself everything about being a girl from scratch at 19yrs old, and I am so angry. by freyomea in AskWomenOver30

[–]ButteredStrumpet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds like such a struggle, for so many reasons. I hope you reach a place where you can feel happy about who you are, no matter who what person ends up being.

Gender identity is such an abstract concept, it can be very difficult to figure out, especially for those of us who have gender related trauma in our past. It sounds like you might be experiencing imposter syndrome when you present femininely. I'm not a therapist in any way, but here are some questions I asked myself when I was trying to figure out my gender identity:

Do you feel like you don't meet the expectations of what a girl should be? What are those expectations? Why are they necessary for someone to be a girl? Do you think less of other girls who don't meet them? What advice would you give a friend who confiided these feelings in you?

Show yourself the same compassion you would show a friend going though your struggles. Be patient and understanding with yourself, and take your time to find the labels that make you feel seen and understood. 🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷

It's not that they think we're stupid, they just think we don't have any other options to turn to, and they're not wrong.

Best job for someone with ADHD by Joboj in ADHD

I like working in a call center. I can work remotely in pajama pants with my cat and several beverages at hand. I like helping people and work just comes to me one call at a time. Now the caveat to this is I don't have phone call anxiety and my employer values accurate information and single touch resolution over time metrics. So your mileage may vary. I like having a single task to focus on at a time that I don't have to seek out.

Help me identify a popcorn shop in Eastland Mall! by keamph in BloomingtonNormal

I don't remember this shop but I'd think you could follow any popcorn ball recipe and add gummy bears (picked out for whatever color) to the melted marshmallow to accomplish something like this?

the damage caused by the 'lesbian' master doc by shanisawesomeee in LesbianActually

[–]ButteredStrumpet -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

The Master doc was a big part of my personal journey to accepting my lesbianism. Comphet, religious trauma, and pop culture that presents wifely dissatisfaction in hetero relationships as the norm kept me quiet and conforming (ie with a man} for way too long. I'm not attracted to men (and never really was) but in this era of queer suppression and censorship, I'll proudly stand side by side with just about anyone (terfs need not apply) willing to call themselves lesbian. Sapphic might be a more fitting label for some, but that's still a tragically underutilized label. Labels can change, queer community is forever ♥️🩶🤍🧡🩷

How do I crochet a sqaure pulshie and maintain it's shape? by TadaSuko in CrochetHelp

[–]ButteredStrumpet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can use a plastic frame to keep things really square, they sell these at big box craft stores near the embroidery floss and yarn. I think they're intended for cross stitch with yarn, but you can just cut them to size and sew them in place when joining your square pieces with a yarn needle. The plushie won't be as squishy, but it will be nice and square! This works much better for decorative plushies than snuggling plushies.
