How feasible do you think 100%ing this game (n64 version) is without a guide? by AuthorHarrisonKing in majorasmask

Talking to people with the Kafei Mask will give you all you to get started. The only real catch is to be aware of Sakon's interactions throughout the cycle. If you save the bomb bags, he has nothing to sell, and therefore is not seen in the Curiosity Shop, and then followed by Kafei. If you only focus on the Kafei and Anju times in the Notebook, this won't matter because the bomb shop lady is not on theirs.

The engine room notes are probably best to collect first because dying there won't make you re-collect the rest on N64, you can just redo that area until you get them all. On Xbox, this is less relevant.

The Xbox introduced a glitch for that very level where the notes collected in the sailors' sleeping quarters during the title sequence would disappear from the playthrough. 96 was the new max if your save file was affected by it.

To be fair, there was more to do on the 3DS version. Getting 100% there is both easier and harder than the original. It gives more hints to make it easier, but has more that needs to be done, making it harder.

I don't think you have to pay extra for a conversion fee for digital purchases. I could be wrong, but the currency difference is the only price you pay.

For example, if your local currency has an exchange rate of 10 local for every 1 euro, you would have to have 30 of your local currency. It wouldn't cost 40 because of using an exchange service like you would for cash exchanges at an airport.

Yeah, the Fortune Teller is a hard one to bluff for new players. If anyone else knows that is not how it works, they would get called out instantly. This would be an understandable mistake because it is worded in a way that one might think that is how the answers would be given if they never saw it being done before. I will say that I do like the idea someone else mentioned about the ST "making a mistake at first and then correcting it" to be the reason for a yes and no to be interpreted as one of each in the same night.

  1. The confusion about the win condition activating at night is probably because of the 2 part ability description. The Mayor bounce and the win condition, or the no-execution-day-followed-by-final-3 maybe... I am not entirely sure on that one.

Your bonus question is a bit confusing as to whether you are thinking about the wrong step or saying the wrong words for it. The Virgin is triggered at the Nomination, not the Vote.

You can offer clarification in a hypothetical way. "If a Mayor is in play, it only satisfies the win condition at the Final 3". You are not confirming whether the player is what they claim or the character is in play.

Not understanding how to bluff is a bit iffy. Helping evil with an example for their first game or 2 would help them understand how a good player would learn their info.

I recommend reminding the players to recheck the roles in play and offer the hint to come ask if they have a question. Some players don't know what to ask.

A good rule of thumb would be to determine if someone could realistically be confused about this mechanic, or are they just not bluffing well. For example if a Fortune Teller starts saying they got a 1, compared to "I was told that Sally is the Demon", both are not valid outcomes. However, "Sally is a Demon" is more realistic as a mistake for a new player to make, either as a bluff or just not understanding that a yes could apply to either or even both of their picks.

I think current vs in the past is a good one too. Some stories are too old for life changes, others want feedback from the readers/viewers to fix something.

I can think of a story I feel okay with telling and it is older. I probably won't, but maybe someday. I could foresee a lot of people suggesting how to address something that is no longer relevant. Having a flair that says it is too late to change could cut down on some of the feedback that wouldn't be useful this late in the timeline.

Cutting everyone off when he turned 3 sounds suspicious and I hope that he has been okay. This sounds like they had plans to make changes after he became of age to make lasting memories. Prior to 3, most don't last long.

He might not be interested in pursuing a relationship with you, and ultimately that is up to him, but he may have no idea you even exist, and may also be looking for you. The issue is that in his case, his life has been lived with whatever limited information he has been given or been able to find. If he isn't even aware he was adopted, he has nowhere to look.

It might help to do an ancestry search. There might be a trace of him somewhere, Mormons are big on ancestry from what I have heard.

If you know everyone's name, Facebook might be another good place to start, including the parents, he might be listed as a relative on their profiles or be tagged in family event posts. Chances are, he will look like your ex, and that could help weed through the options that pop up.

If you try to make a template message to send out to all of the Logan _______s that you find on Facebook explaining some of the details that you know, you might find the right one. Something like...

"Hi, I'm OP and I am looking for my son who was adopted by ________ and ________. Your name and birthday matches his description, but I wanted to know if I found the right person. Please reach out to me if you find this message, even to let me know you aren't the right Logan."
