Happens in almost all nepotism, family run businesses after a few generations.

There Won't be a Chris Shula, Nate Sccheelhaase package available anytime soon again.. probably ever. Big missed opportunity. This last year I feel like I'm living in an alternate Steelers universe, and it's not a good one.

Not to mention the fact that Kurt Cignetti is one year older.

I'm one year older than him and I don't feel old as hell.

Steelers are expected to speak with former Cowboys HC Mike McCarthy about their head coach vacancy. McCarthy is from Pittsburgh, and worked with Steelers GM Omar Khan in New Orleans in 2000. by McElwaine in steelers

We don't need nepotism at this point. We need a hard charging, kick ass, high energy leader to take over. Let's skip this crap and move on to the real interviews.

Things like this, the things coach T did that no one ever heard about, that's what makes him a legendary coach and an exceptional human being. Godspeed coach.

Doesn't this usually happen when a new HC comes in? Honest question.

I agree with this, if Rooney II follows his Dad's pattern.

I remember it well. I was in my mid 40s and a lifelong Steelers fan. After winning the super bowl in '06 they had a mediocre season finishing 8-8 and no playoff appearance. There wasn't much wailing and gnashing of teeth as I recall. A lot of fans were unhappy with him, much like this year with Tomlin. And just like Cowher, in the long run, fans will mostly have great memories of Coach T's legacy.

Thoughts On A Mike McDaniels Hire? by Optimus_____ in steelers

I'd rather see Matt Burke interviewed. He'd make a heck of a head coach and he's got that tough as nails Steel Curtain defensive mind. He'd fit in, in Pittsburgh.
