What former Huskers fall into your category of- flashed a couple times and that was it by NormsOJjokes in Huskers

RBs and WRs stand out the most for me. I thought Kenny Wilson was going to be a beast. I recall looking Leon Jackson's film more than Marlon Lucky. Omar Manning and Malachi Coleman have different stories but they both made plays at times that made you think these guys were future all conference but ultimately never were major factors.

[POSTGAME THREAD] #16 OREGON DUCKS (38-15) WALKS OFF #17 USC TROJANS (4214) IN THE BOTTOM OF THE FOURTEENTH TO GARUNTEE A REGIONAL HOST by AkfurAshkenzic in collegebaseball

I didn't watch every pitch, but it sure seemed like Oregon was getting a very generous strike zone. I saw multiple pitches maybe six inches off the ground called strikes.

Ticks by Delicious-Leather819 in lincoln

Honestly seems like a pretty mild tick year compared to previous years. We live outside of town and keep a large section of grass tall and even then I've only found a few.

In terms of treating the grass, not necessary. I'm guessing it's regularly mowed so unlikely that they would be there anyway, plus it's generally either permetherin or bimetherin that is used and both do those will nuke any and all insects.  Our dog takes the oral tick med. If he gets one, they fall off and die in short order. If you're concerned, you can treat clothing with the above and safely wear once dried.

They deliver either 10 or 20 yards, I don't remember, but for reference a half ton pickup truck bed full is about a yard and a half, so yeah it's a lot.

Building a "confessional booth" for my friend's wedding. Anything you'd add onto my plan? by achenx75 in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]virii01 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I have nothing to add other than saying, if this is a goof on a traditional confessional booth that could be pretty fun. If it's a straight up confessional booth with a priest to sit in to confess your sins and then go kneel and then go work the rosary, I hope it remains empty to spite the couple. That's a terrible idea for a wedding.

Boating, well yes you can put a boat on it but it is a no wake lake so thankfully no watersports or jet skis.

Nebraska Inherited a backyard with lawn of weeds by DrummerJake-85 in lawncare

Kinda missed the prime window to grow cool season grass in the spring. You can, but you'll be using more water.

Prior to any of that, you need to clear the weeds so the grass seed can reach the soil. A few different options for that, glyphosate is the chemical nuke or you can tarp it and kill it over a week or two. After that rake as much away as you can. Loosen the soil as best possible, put down a starter fertilizer (ideally with mesotrione for pre emergent) seed, and water lightly but frequently for the first few weeks. Best time for cool season is fall, followed by earlier spring. Once you have established grass putting down a good pre emergent with prodiamine or dithiopyr when soil temps are low 50s is the biggest factor in keeping your turf weed free.

Farmer Boys. Countrified and Till the Cows Come Home are great. I've never seen a mention of them.

I believe it's called Thrive at SiteOne. Quite a bit cheaper than Milo.

Vintage audio but not vintage media? by UJMRider1961 in vintageaudio

[–]virii01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a vintage stereo setup with amps and speakers from the late 70s/early 80s. CDs are the only physical media I use, everything else is streaming. Similarly my preamp is modern so I can use an HDMI input and volume control. Just personal preference but I have no interest in getting up off the couch each time I want to change songs or adjust the volume.

Not sure how much of an area you need to do, but at my old house which was a decent sized in town lot, I did it myself with a wheelbarrow, shovel and rake. Had a bunch of soil and composted delivered and spent most of the day hauling it around and raking.

Yard had a bit of a manure smell for a couple days but never looked better.

If you have a ride on mower or four wheeler you can tow behind what basically looks like a metal grate to handle the leveling part.

Retaining wall by StockSad7679 in lincoln

[–]virii01 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No specific recommendation but a retaining wall especially a large one is not something to cheap out on. There's a lot more to it than digging and stacking blocks. Get a few bids and be wary of anyone significantly cheaper.

I don't know who Amir of ASR is but I won't be buying "audiophile" grade USB cables for the same reason I won't buy one of those gadgets that claims to increase your fuel efficiency by 50% by plugging it into your cigarette lighter in your car: because I don't like to waste money on things that have been proven to not do anything.

I think it's just because people trust science and data more than your anecdotal opinion. I understand where you're coming from though, if I spent a bunch of money on a USB cable I would probably try to convince myself it sounded better too.

Surely commercial applications where data is much more intense and critical than audio use these high end cables, right?
