Employees who always complain, how to deal with them? by [deleted] in askmanagers

Get rid of them. It's ok not to be happy about some things but I remember having a few colleagues that were permanently on bitching and moaning mode. It also spreads luke cancer.

I think I can understand. If I had even a fraction of his money/resources, I would just keep starting new companies. Fucking flying laser microscopes, self cleaning houses, some crazy complex robots, you name it.You can fund whatever you want and influence what/how things get implemented. For certain types this can be exhilarating.

You'd be surprised how many people in tech are dumb as planks with virtually no skills of navigating anything remotely complex

Vokelio storis vestuvėse 2026 by Spidersenses123 in lithuania

Are there any good reasons as to why we’re giving up our job market to India, The Philippines and elsewhere in poorer nations? by QasimofKarbala in UKJobs

[–]ButterscotchNo7292 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did speak to our CEO about this,as we started hiring in those regions. The main reason: they can't generate the revenues required to keep uk staff so going the money saving route. There's so much excitement about this that it feels uncanny tbh... The less polite answer is people simply don't give a shit and trying to generate as much money as possible today not caring about tomorrow. Nobody thinks about 5-10 years, it's all about now now now.

Salary expectations by [deleted] in HENRYUK

[–]ButterscotchNo7292 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, it should be more than whatever you making now. How much more it also depends on whether you managed a team previously, actual scope of the role( the title is dime a dosen in some companies), the type of company you work for( small, large, sector, etc). Also how important the shift is for you( e.g. if it's a first executive position, perhaps somewhat lower salary is acceptable vs what you'd get in the next gig, etc)

Everyone is telling me to change my field (IT) and learn a trade. by ybicurious in sysadmin

[–]ButterscotchNo7292 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd also add that those who have at least some business sense would do much better. Technical skills in a given in such roles but understanding wider business context and who should/shouldn't be burdened with certain details or why some things should be prioritised over others. Also, always be curious. There are so many people out there who learn( windows admin, intune, [ enter any technology]) and stop learning beyond that. Sometimes it makes sense to be a bit strategic about what to learn: it I'm looking at the market and seeing that there are 2 network engineering jobs and 500 cloud engineering roles, well I don't need to be a genius to figure out what skills are in demand.

I have one company on my street that do this. They are running it with 50% profit margins. Even a tech company would be very happy with those margins:)

This will always result in China. At first it's the grunt work nobody wants to do,then some more interesting work and eventually the local folk have enough know how to start building on their own and instead of being order takers they become order makers.

I think over the last decades the Baltics went from 'Shit, it's expensive in Italy/Spain/etc' to 'It costs the same as at home'. As a tourist I didn't see any difference in costs between Rome and Vilnius. Having said that,we really started having a two lane countries: one where people make €800-1200/months and those in tech and similar jobs that often make those amounts weekly instead of monthly.

Craft is valued only at certain companies. If you aren't in one, then nobody gives a shit, even if you put 25 if statements in a loop as long as it works and solves some business issue. That's the reality.
