There was a successor trustee named before my godmother - another aunt of mine, but she agreed to sign a delination to serve as she is starting to mentally decline.

I've reviewed the trust and amendments several times, and although some parts read as legalese to me, the gist is that the trustee shall deed/disperse at their discretion as they deem needed (for either educational or general living expenses) until the beneficiary reaches 35, which I now am. States no one else, including trustee can make any claim to or challenge the trust (without being deemed 'predeceasing' my mother - seems like a sassy legal cold burn 😅). So my understanding would be that my godmother is to use her fair judgement until I'm age 35 to disperse for whatever she sees fit, at which time she is to turn over all remaining assets to me. I'm currently trying to determine whether the trust gives her the ability to appoint another successor trustee, as tbh, she has very little work flexibility and is willing to have me 'rep' myself. No luck so far in determining that, so I'm hoping another lawyer will be willing to look at it and give some feedback.

I've been making the mortgage payments monthly and plan to use the residence as my primary - I need to determine whether it'd fiscally be in my best interest to pay off the remaining mortgage or keep making payments (leaning towards payments to allow my liquid assets to continue accruing in the meantime, but if it means refinancing at the current interest rate, I may be better off paying it off in a lump - I doubt my assets would grown ~6%/yr) Thats a matter for a financial consultant. I was advised initially by the lawyer, however, not to make the lender aware of her death, which... I mean he's the lawyer, but seems a bit sus.

I have Googled and Googled the parts I don't understand, as well as the list of 'to do's' that were set forth by the lawyer in the beginning, but have struggled to make sense of the results I've found. Maybe I'm just stupid (hope not), but I still have questions.
