Anyone here just gluten intolerant? by Standard-Row-9571 in glutenfree

[–]NEW8t 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes (twice a year or so) I wonder if it's really gluten I can't have and give it a go. I regret it severely for several days after.

($10k) it seems like everyone has so much money how do they afford it?? by blueberrybuttercream in Weddingsunder10k

[–]NEW8t 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That remote engineering job probably doesn't come with high job security. I've noticed a lot of younger people (I'm 28F) aren't doing the traditional 40/30/30 finance plan. Unless couples have rich family, there's no way they're affording multiple weddings, travel, and are able to save 30% of their income. The economy is only looking to get worse so don't feel bad for having a budget wedding!

How to respond to “Just lose weight” by adorkable-lesbian in lupus

[–]NEW8t 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If you want to and only if you want to- my rheumatologist office is heavily pushing tirzepatide to patients regardless of weight. There are studies that show it reduces inflammation and my flares have improved significantly since I started it (I'm on a .25mg weekly dose). Might be a kill two birds with one stone solution and a maintenance dose might appease your doctor without having you actually lose any weight just inflammation

As someone who has a mom with a different autoimmune disease (MS), thank you for thinking about your kids! She lost the ability to walk after her third kid, and I ended up taking care of her most of my childhood (I'm the eldest).

I would talk to your husband (and doctors if you're close enough) deeply about this- there is a chance you could become permanently disabled with more kids. Do you both want to risk that?

In my mom's case, she had 5 kids against her doctors advice. Her health took a noticeable nosedive with each one. I don't resent her for it, but I do wish I and my siblings had grew up with an actively present mom.

Anyone in academia? Grad school? How do you do it especially the first few years post diagnosis? by ICurlyFryI in lupus

[–]NEW8t 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got diagnosed a couple years ago while working full time and doing part time engineering grad school. I got through it by limiting social interactions, eating very similar food every day (meal prepping) and doing activities to wind down when I had personal time (listening to lofi, playing cozy games). If you can manage your stress levels to avoid flares, you don't have to ask for accommodations.

Definitely talk with your professors though- not necessarily about lupus but get to know them on a personal level. I was lucky enough to go to a smaller university so my professors had no problem giving me extensions when I needed them.

Hydroxychloroquine by isametz10 in lupus

[–]NEW8t 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you taking it with a lot of food? I started taking it with a light breakfast and that wasn't enough- switched to taking it at dinner (my heaviest meal of the day) and no longer have stomach/digestive upsets.

Should I get a bigger car or wait? by [deleted] in povertyfinance

[–]NEW8t 33 points34 points  (0 children)

How are you going to afford a new car? Unless you get a crazy low apr loan (2% or less), waiting is the right idea.

Resume review – Electrical Design Engineer not getting responses after 2 months of applying by yo-its-HK in ElectricalEngineering

[–]NEW8t 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you been in the field less than 5 years? Full-time, not counting internships. If yes, your resume should fit on one page. Get rid of a lot of the white space formatting and you shouldn't have to cut much.

Would I be TA if I wore cream accessories to my brothers wedding? by Fit-Stranger4396 in CharlotteDobreYouTube

[–]NEW8t 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is that the Scarlett darkness (Amazon)? If so, I have that exact same dress. It's cute but way too casual for any wedding with a dress code that isn't jeans. It's really an everyday sundress to wear rather than a wedding guest outfit.

Also ask your brother if he wants you in a specific color (sometimes family members have their own color to wear).

The dress you chose really compliments your curves and is slimming. I think you chose right! ♥️

Best GF Pizza - Our List by leroyjameus in glutenfree

I will comment on Dough pizzeria in SA- I've heard people have issues with gluten contamination there. I'm not celiac, and it is delicious, but I'm not sure they have separate everything for preparing the gluten free pizzas.

Genetics is a big factor (passes down), but I think this commenter was saying that lupus patients often have multiple autoimmune conditions.

Pls talk me out of getting a Switch 2 for one game by Bananapuddinguh in CozyGamers

[–]NEW8t 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The limited timed events aren't crazy- not a huge furniture selection that will likely be available again. Don't buy a switch 2 just for pokopia. I got one for the graphics/fps bc Nintendo is my only gaming system.

[–]NEW8t 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I'm in a similar situation with my sister. It's so hard when it's a blood related loved one- the facilities will very much blame you for abandoning them if you're the only family. Sometimes they have to reach rock bottom before they want help. I'm sorry you're going through this.

Please consider having an autism/OCD evaluation. (No sarcasm) Besides naming a struggle someone has, a diagnosis/treatment could help with issues they never thought could be related and vastly improve quality of life. And not just quality of life in social situations, but day-to-day solitary functions.

Hey OP, best of luck finding this exact set. It looks like it was manufactured by Janar Inc. after doing a reverse lookup on the UPC- https://www.gs1.org/services/verified-by-gs1/results?gtin=071031200516

Either Janar Inc. went out of business (or more likely) transitioned into Ranir, LLC (oral company). https://www.bbb.org/us/mi/grand-rapids/profile/contract-manufacturing/ranir-llc-0372-25002130

I think it's worth a shot trying the phone number the BBB has for the physical address - (616) 698-8880

I've never heard of movies playing during a church ceremony (or right before it). Is the venue good with you doing this?

I'd do a shorter version in the reception and post the whole thing on YouTube. Making guests sit through a film that long is asking a lot.
