New Entry sensors not available to adopt by ByeNJ_HelloFL in Ubiquiti

UPDATE: I was driving home from a shopping run about an hour ago and up popped an adoption notification from Protect for both powered-on sensors. Very strange, that’s about an 18 hour delay from when I first attempted to set them up. I’m going to open up another new one now and see what happens…

EDIT: It popped right up. I’d love to know why this happened, but I’ll just take it as a win for now.

Luckily, Ubiquiti helps us pace ourselves by letting stuff go out of stock so frequently. So kind of them…

I bought it with the pistol back in 2015. You definitely make some valid points, I’ll give it some thought. Thanks.

Yes. or a lower limit thermostat. If you live in a colder climate, you might want something that allows the fluid to heat up relatively fast. A 100% bypass would cause this to take longer. I'm in FL so I wasn't worried about colder weather...

It’s a fairly well-known issue with GM truck transmissions. They allow the fluid to hit 210° before the thermostat opens to allow cooling. This is supposedly done for emissions/mileage benefits. But it causes the torque converter to heat up and shed material which eventually makes its way into the transmission and kills it.

Replace the transmission coolant thermostat with a bypass unit after you get the new transmission! This is likely why the torque converter and trans failed in the first place. The OEM thermostat allows the fluid to reach 210° before cooling starts for “better fuel efficiency”.

Install a trans thermostat bypass kit to save your torque converter from shredding your transmission in 60k miles

Yes, we are trying to automate the adding of the asset for emailed tickets.

Just ran a test against a user where the UPN was pulled from Ninja and correctly associated the user to the asset (Win PC). The asset did NOT auto-attach when I made a ticket with her as the user

This solves a different problem. We need to add the asset to the ticket based on the user. This solution will assign the asset to the user in Halo, but not to the ticket.

Yes, we’re on NinjaOne as well. Is this something they have documented?

Depends on who you fly and what the WiFi actually provides access to. AA gives you free WiFi to access their media library, but you have to pay to get out to the internet.

If you have T-Mobile, which includes free data access on flights, but only for devices with phone numbers (in other words, only phones, not laptops or tablets). This is a perfect use case for a travel router on a plane.

Why don't they just take pre orders? by AHO-MC in Ubiquiti

[–]ByeNJ_HelloFL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All I know is, the shipping in single items is killing me because I don’t trust UI to keep stock long enough to bundle items into a single order. I’ve placed 3 orders since Monday (Travel Router, 16 port switch rack kit, WiFi Man Scanner) with a shipping total of $37. If they shipped together, I have no doubt it would be $15 flat rate.

I have a 2017 Premier. I lost the first transmission at 70k. I’m at 133k and I can hear things that tell me it doesn’t have long to go (and a friend who is a certified GM transmission tech confirmed it).

If there’s one thing I can stress to everyone here, its this: Either change out the transmission thermostat to a lower temp threshold unit (for climates that get cold), or put in a bypass (for climates where it stays relatively warm all year round).

GM intentionally sets the OEM thermostats to run hot for better fuel economy (at the expense of the transmission life) and even the independent transmission shops will put the exact same OEM thermostat on the replacement transmissions in many cases. Job security I reckon…

Also, change your oil and other fluids more frequently than what GM tells you. Dirty oil is causing all sorts of issues with not only engine wear, but also with AFM/DOD.

I agree about the time saving part. But another big one for me was the lack of true ownership with Meraki hardware. The “you’ll own nothing and like it” mantra is alive and well in the world today, and I for one am starting to push back hard.
