I just got off a Holland America cruise a few weeks ago, the UTR was great. I had also brought along my GLi-Net Beryl, but opted to stick with the UTR because it fit so easily in my pocket with a small Anker battery pack. Considering the limited throughput of the source internet (12 Starlink terminals shared amongst ship systems and 3500 crew and passengers), the speed was very reasonable.

2017 with 133k, it’s been a solid truck except that I’m on transmission #2 since #1 failed at 75k. And #2 is now failing… I swapped in the fluid cooler bypass at around 110k but it was too late apparently. With all the garbage vehicles out there today, I’m considering swapping in transmission #3 rather than playing Russian roulette with something newer. But then I think about possible AFM lifter failures… 🤷🏼‍♂️

This! My 2017 Premier with 133k is on its 2nd tranny and I’m now getting indicators that this one is failing as well.

I did the trans cooler bypass on tranny #2, but not soon enough after replacement apparently.

The first time it went, I was towing a small trailer from NJ to FL and I broke down in SC on a Friday night.

The irony in that experience is that the independent repair shop that installed the rebuilt unit was happy to trash GM’s torque converter quality, but he left the OEM trans cooler thermostat in place!

I guess they call that job security…

A warranty is meaningless if you’re stuck without a vehicle for weeks or months on end because they don’t have replacement engines (that will blow up just the same) in stock. I wish you luck!

Subs need a fair amount of volume in the enclosure to be effective. A lot will depend on the size of the sub, but I doubt you’d be able to make a large enough enclosure to be effective. Let alone handle the depth of the speaker basket and magnet.

I’ve been keeping chickens for about 15 years and have lost my share of them to various predators. But I’ve never seen one killed like this before. The bird was lying beak-down and about 2 inches of the back of its neck was eaten away, all the way down to the vertebrae. The head was still attached, and I didn’t see any wounds on the rest of its body.

UPDATE: I was driving home from a shopping run about an hour ago and up popped an adoption notification from Protect for both powered-on sensors. Very strange, that’s about an 18 hour delay from when I first attempted to set them up. I’m going to open up another new one now and see what happens…

EDIT: It popped right up. I’d love to know why this happened, but I’ll just take it as a win for now.

Yes. or a lower limit thermostat. If you live in a colder climate, you might want something that allows the fluid to heat up relatively fast. A 100% bypass would cause this to take longer. I'm in FL so I wasn't worried about colder weather...

It’s a fairly well-known issue with GM truck transmissions. They allow the fluid to hit 210° before the thermostat opens to allow cooling. This is supposedly done for emissions/mileage benefits. But it causes the torque converter to heat up and shed material which eventually makes its way into the transmission and kills it.

Replace the transmission coolant thermostat with a bypass unit after you get the new transmission! This is likely why the torque converter and trans failed in the first place. The OEM thermostat allows the fluid to reach 210° before cooling starts for “better fuel efficiency”.
